The best yoga studio in Portland. The class offerings are diverse and the schedule is great. The facility is well-​equipped, clean and beautiful. The instructors are truly special; skilled, caring yogis who care about the growth of their students.

I searched and searched for a good yoga studio in the NE that met my needs: challenging, welcoming, clean and bright. I’ve been going to Firelight for about nine months now and just love everything about it. The owners are wonderful people who genuinely care about their guests and provide personal attention to make sure you have a great experience. The hot fly classes are super challenging but don’t make me feel like I’m going to pass out like some other studios I’ve been to. The studio is always clean and inviting. I love the consistency of the classes and the music. Firelight is a great spot to get in the zone!

Purchased the two-​week unlimited class deal and took as many classes at as many different times that I could and I LOVED all of them (Fly 60, Yoga Sculpt, Vinyasa). All of the instructors are super friendly and encouraging. Fellow yogis are also very friendly. The studio space is clean as well as the bathroom/​locker rooms. Highly recommend.

I’ve been to about 12 classes so far and have resisted to write this review — maybe it is just the honeymoon? No, Firelight Yoga is really the best yoga studio I’ve ever visited.
The studio is clean and equipped with all the good yoga things. There is a great bar to hang your sweaty mats and herbal spray to spritz post-​session. They have garbage cans to differentiate landfill or not, and a tap water bottle filler in the bathrooms.
My favorite flows so far are the Sculpt and Fly 60. The Sculpt is challenging, but so worth it — it’s pushed me further and left me buzzing for the rest of the day. The Fly 60 is just a solid yoga/​work out that leaves your body feeling strong and massaged — and sweaty. They also play fun music –none of that earth-​rise-​global yogi shit.
The instructors are extremely well-​poised. They are encouraging and get your going. Best of all they are professionals and you’re in good in hands no matter what.
The location is great — if you live in NoPo, it’s in a central location that takes less than 10 mins from most spots. I’ve even driven from the CEID at lunchtime in less than 10 for a mid day flow. Parking is free and easy to find.
Overall, I haven’t been to a better studio in Portland. Sticking with Firelight!

I don’t normally write reviews, but I haven’t seen this studio too full when I’ve been there and I think it is a hidden gem, that warrants the attention of PDX yogis:) I gotta say, I’m extremely impressed by the Firelight Yoga studio! I discovered the studio via Groupon and my expectations were simply to get some warmer yoga classes in during the damp dreary transition into winter… well, it turns out this studio is much more than a «hot yoga» club. First off, the studio itself is modern, cleanly and convenient. I can’t say enough about the radiant heat and lack of stinky carpet that infuses most hot studios in the area. some obvious forethought was put into the construction of this calming space. I started with a «hot 60» class, which was excellent, but really came to the studio for the yin/​vinyasa/​restorative and so far my expectations have been exceeded. The teachers have not only been smooth and flowing with their direction, but each of them have been very welcoming and warm to boot. Some added small touches really are nice and unique to this studio, during some «shavasanas» the teacher will come around quietly with essential oils and waft them above your nose as you lay with eyes closed, nice mini aromatherapeutic enhancement to one’s mediation:) Firelight really incorporates a healthy balance between the hot, more intense, «yoga as fitness» style and the calming more restorative styles. One thing that is not necessarily a criticism, but might affect some’s interest, is the fact that so far music has been played (all great!) during every class I’ve attended… I like the addition of music, but I also appreciate the silence for some classes. I’ve only been to 4 classes, so, perhaps some classes don’t use music, but this has been my experience so far. If you live anywhere in the area or are visiting, I highly recommend you check out at least an intro at this studio. They offer a few special referral discounts as well and you can bring a friend for free on Thursdays.

Love this studio, they offer a variety of classes both restorative and athletic, some warm, some hot — so you have choices! In the past I have had difficulty tolerating hot temperatures (like the summer we just had) — but the classes have really helped me acclimate and actually begin to enjoy it — even crave it! To me this is a life changing benefit above and beyond the physical and emotional benefits of a regular practice.
The owners teach classes, which is a huge plus to me. It means they will continue to have a connection to their patrons, the community and the energy of their business.

I love this studio! It’s so beautifully designed, clean, inviting, and all of the instructors I’ve had class with are fantastic. From my very first class I felt at home. And being new to the studio was thrilled to find out new students get 20% off their first package! What a great deal. On Thursdays you can bring a friend (someone who hasn’t been to the studio before) and they get their class FREE! I think I’ve brought 5 people now, and they have all loved Fly 60 (my favorite). I love that Firelight offers a great selection of classes, from hot hot hot Fly, to cooler (but still warm) and gentler classes like Restorative and Yin. This is an all around wonderful place to practice yoga.
I think if I had to give one suggestion, it would be to switch up the music. Sometimes it is more of a distraction than a complement to the practice in terms of the types of songs. I’m all about having upbeat, dance-​y songs, but the ‘Top 40′, louder kinds of songs change the vibe a little bit.

I would consider this yoga studio more on the «trendy», power type of studios. Think Corepower but less crowded. I think it’s a great workout. They’re very good at what they specialize in, which is hot yoga. This is my favorite studio I’ve found in Portland to take a hot yoga class at.
Pros: The place is clean, parking is pretty easy, and the staff is welcoming. It’s not that much of a cluster. I highly prefer taking a hot yoga class here over Corepower– it’s stressful for me to take classes there given how crowded it gets.
Cons: If I’m looking for a spiritual experience or some healing– this wouldn’t be my top choice. I’d have to go to a studio that offers Yin or Kundalini. This isn’t a huge con most days, but some days I really need an ultra hippie experience.

Phew! What a fantastic workout. I went to the 60 minute Hot Fly class and I LOVED it! It totally kept my attention and provided a serious sweat session. I liked the fact that the instructor, Jessica, kept us moving most of the time. I’m an avid runner and found this class to be invigorating but not that overly «I want to die» challenging. I will definitely be back!

I came to this studio via a Groupon, and was happy to try something new in my neighborhood. I echo what others have said, the space is lovely, open, bright, clean and welcoming. Everyone i have encountered there was very nice and seemed knowledgable and capable of leading yoga classes.
I have attended 6 or 7 classes.
Oh but the music. Its very very loud and more what i would expect to find on a zumba playlist. At a vinyassa class i heard at least two top 40 songs («Take Me to Church» and something by Lorde). The building is concrete and the acoustics are such that its very hard to hear what the instructor is saying. I just look around to see what other people are doing, but they are looking too and I see lots of confused faces. Its actually pretty stressful.
Also, since the floor is laminate upon raw concrete, it is very hard. Make sure to bring a good thick mat.

Always on the lookout for a new place to work out I took advantage of the 2 weeks unlimited for $ 25 intro special at Firelight. The special is an excellent way to get to know the studio and I returned for another month at an unlimited deal. The instructors, who also work the front desk, are really friendly and helpful and the space is very clean (lobby, studio and locker room, though the men’s locker room it can get a little cramped). And when I mean clean I mean it; they clean the studio floors between each class and this is the first place where I’ve done hot yoga and I didn’t get sick after a week or two. I exclusively did the FLY 60 class on the weekdays and the room was never overly crowded and the instructors were really helpful. Online it says the temp is 104 but some instructors have it a little cooler and some days seemed hotter. Either way I got a hell of a sweat going! It isn’t an easy class, that’s for sure, it is an ordered sequence; the same poses and flows in the same order each time with some tweaks by the various instructors (who you’ll see doing the classes when not working). One nice twist is that there are two one minute savasana’s during the transitions to the different «series’.» It definitely is a great way to get into hot yoga and improve yourself (and measure your improvement) in your practice and to do so with excellent instructors and in an inviting and clean space. I was in town for only a few days but was warmly welcomed in this lovely studio. I took a 60 minute Hot Fly class. The pace was brisk and we covered (flowed through?) a lot of ground. I’ve been practising for less than a year so found plenty to challenge myself with both on the floor and in the balancing postures.
The room was quite warm but not punishingly so. My sunscreen-​y sweat did drip off the end of my nose a bit, that SPF50 stuff does NOT wash off easily. It was a quiet 4.00pm class and I bet the temperature increases as the room fills, I imagine heat level preferences are very subjective though…
Changing room /​showers /​toilets = all sparkling.
A hop skippity off the yellow metro train line stop at Killingsworth must make it easy to access during commute hours too.

This yoga studio has been such a great addition to the North Portland Neighborhood! Everyone is incredibly friendly. The studio is clean and welcoming. And the classes are fun and energetic, yet leave you feeling relaxed and renewed! There is a wide variety of classes and times offered. The FLY classes are personally my favorite, but I have also attended the vinyasa flow and yin, which are also both great.

This yoga studio is top notch!
I’ve gone to many of the different classes they offer and enjoy them all. This is not a bikram studio so you don’t always do all 26 poses!
You will do a vinyasa flow to upbeat music in the fly classes. I would recommend anyone to this studio. The staff is all very friendly and welcoming. I’m so happy to have this place in north Portland.

I have to give an honest review of this studio. everyone was very sweet and nice. the studio itself is absolutely beautiful. the deal killer for me was the very loud, and random music that they play during the class. you can’t hear the instructor’s voice over it and the songs
change. I even heard some top 40 type
songs. weird, at best. I’m fine with a studio that doesn’t offer the 26 poses that I want to do, in my time in the room. but it makes it very difficult to concentrate and learn their poses, with blaring music. it was just an overall very odd experience for me. also, it wasn’t that hot, in my opinion. I just don’t want someone else to spend $ 55 on an unlimited month and use it twice. actually I went for my first class and willed myself to go to a second class. I laid there for my half hour warm up before the class began as the music loudly blasted through the speakers. wrapped up my mat and left. I honestly didn’t want to put myself through it again.

FINALLY! A yoga studio I can walk to. I have been wishing for this since I moved to Portland 10 years ago. I’m a traditionalist so have never been the biggest fan of hot yoga (Bikram specifically) but this isn’t Bikram. I find that hot room is not TOO hot for my liking and the practice, while basically the same each class, is truly enjoyable. I actually miss it if I skip a few days in a row.
The studio and space is beautiful– clean, light, even smells good and not musty like other hot yoga studios I’ve visited.
I’ve loved every teacher that I’ve had so far. I’m hoping for a traditional Vinyasa class to be added after 9 – 5’er hours down the line, but would still attend hot classes as well! I’ve really been surprised how much I enjoy them.

This review is based on my first two experiences here — excellent atmosphere, extremely clean and comfortable environment. I attended the FLY 80 on Saturday afternoon and the FLY 60 at 5:45 on a weeknight.
These were both hot yoga classes, and the teachers were both very friendly and approachable. Everyone I encountered at the studio was friendly and kind.
Right now they offer a $ 25 two week unlimited introductory offer, which I think is an awesome offer. I love that they offer a weeknight class at 5:45 — perfect for me because I can take MAX there straight from work and arrive just in time. Their website is easy to navigate and offers pricing charts and detailed class schedules. They make it easy to pay online and sign up early for classes through their website so that when you arrive at the studio all you need to do is sign in.
I think this studio is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood, and I am so lucky to live within walking distance of it.

After my curiosity of a new yoga shop out of the million that are in Portland I decided I check the one out that’s in my neighborhood. The vicinity is absolutely beautiful the floors are beautiful the studio itself is beautiful. The employee at the welcome desk was very welcoming and offered me a free towel for my visit and my instructor was very calm. But definitely gave us a great workout. I really thoroughly enjoyed my class and think this is a great studio. The bathroom is by far the best in all area studios, weird thing to say I know but most yoga studios don’t even have showers for you to use here they do and they’re clean and they have filtered water for you to drink. it’s just a very super awesome place to do yoga, very calming. When I walked into the warm room there was incense pouring from the little planters on the window which was not overwhelming at all! it was very calming and overall it all I just really really enjoyed my class!
my only downside to the studios location is that the max is right nearby and you can hear the max coming by as well as large vehicles also there’s not a huge area for you to park in. My other minor complaint was that during the end of my session when we were in savasana I could hear incoming students for the next class coming through the front door and talking and laughing so that can be distracting when you’re in that pose particularly. Overall, check it out I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Just visited for the first time — what a beautiful space! The heated class was great and the room is super modern and clean with a large mirror on one side and windows on the other. The locker room /​bathroom is super nice and has showers as well. Good variety of classes and times and everyone I met was super friendly. Yay!
