Firestone Complete Auto Care

Had an appointment for eleven am, called at 3pm they just started, called again at 4:30 they said the drain plug head was rounded off and needed a new one to be delivered. This has been the only place we have taken the car for a oil change. Which means that it happen there. By using the wrong socket size. They did take thirty dollars of bill. The desk person said they had a busy day. This is after I had to interrupt three employees talking outside. With no one at front desk. Why made an appointment for eleven, then pick up the car at 4 thirty for just an oil change and wipers. I will not take my car or service truck there any more.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!! This shop has the worst costumer service I’ve ever experienced. I purchased new tires in 2013 and had them rotated by this shop every time I did an oil change. In 2014 they told me that two of my wheels were slightly bent. So, I continued to get the rotations down and recently I purchased new wheels. I went last Friday to have them put the new wheels on, and they said they were closing and to come in on Sunday. The worker also tells me that my front wheels are out of alignment. This is the first I’ve heard of this despite having been in regularly to rotate the tires. I then come in on Sunday and they tell me I would have to leave my car for 5 hours. I was not able to do this so he asks for my phone number and tells me that he’ll call when a time opens up. I received no call. I then call on Monday and they tell me that they are booked till Wed. I also ask why the problem with the alignment was never identified prior to now having to get 1 or 2 new tires, despite the fact that the tires were less than 2 years old. I then called Firestones main customer services line to complain and was told I would receive a call within 24 hours. I have received no call. The customer services I’ve received is beyond subpar. It is almost as if they are intentionally not doing their jobs and trying to cause damage to the new tires so that they have to be replaced. I would give zero stars if it was an option. I recommend that everyone stay away from this shop.
UPDATE: I went in today and yet again experienced the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I was met by the manager, Martin Thogerson. I told him that I have now had to come in 4 times relating to the same issue to try and get service. His response was, «Well, you’re not even spending any money today!» I was flabbergasted! These are services provided when you buy tires at Firestone! If I had know I was going to be treated like this I would have gone to Les Schwab. I wish I had gone to Les Schwab! When I told him that the service was being provided because I bought tires there and that I can see now the reason that his shop gets terrible reviews, he starts yelling at me that those reviews were before he started managing the place and he tells me «I know you make a complaint about me already, how do that go for you!» He said this in a snide tone to suggest that of course nothing would happen. I did in fact complaint to the national office of Firestone. Mr. Thogerson then contacted his district manager (Dana Girard) and lied about what had occurred. I then spoke with his district manager who agreed to have me go to a different Firestone store and they would replace all four tires, install the new wheels and perform an alignment at no additional charge. While I appreciate the district managers efforts to try to make this right, I do not appreciate the way I was treated by this angry little man with a serious anger management problem. I continue to recommend that people stay away from this shop, unless you enjoy getting the run around and getting yelled at by a substandard worker.

They literally cannot change a tire. They gouged my expensive wheel while trying to RIP the tire off the wheel! Long story short, they shafted me in the end. DO NOT GO HERE.

I have taken my vehicle to Firestone on SE Powell Blvd. two times since I moved to this part of town. The last time was a couple Sundays ago to have my electrical system checked out to find out if the battery and/​or the alternator needed to be replaced. I also wanted to find out if they were able to fix the temperature gauge on the instrument panel that is no longer working. I received several phone calls from the man at the front desk asking me about the starter. I repeatedly told him that there seemed to be some sort of electrical problem. I again asked about the possibility of fixing the temperature gauge as well to which he responded that it will be checked out. After I didn’t hear back for several hours, I decided to show up at the location since 2 ½ hours had passed. The man at the front desk informed me that the battery was replaced. I again asked about the temperature gauge that was not working on the instrument panel. He proceeded to try to sign me up for a Firestone credit card which I did not ask for or want in any way. He wanted me to provide my social security number and yearly gross income. I declined the offer and reminded him that I still wanted to know about the possibility of fixing the temperature gauge on the instrument panel. He then quickly asked the mechanic about it in front of me who stated that the whole instrument panel would need to be replaced. I was then provided with an estimate for a rebuilt starter and was told that I can schedule another appointment if I decide to replace it. It’s obvious that customer service is not at the top of the priority list at Firestone. I was never even called to be told that my vehicle was ready. My car is still not running right so now I will have to take it to a another mechanic to get the job done. I would NOT recommend going to Firestone as there are many other quality shops in the area that are not national chains who charge way too much and make you wait way too long.

Wasted my time. They refused me service because I had an old subaru that was a «liability». All i wanted was an oil change! They waited an forty min to let me know and when i asked to speak with the manager who had decided to refuse me service he was out to lunch. Go to jiffy down rhe road

I brought my car here because they had a large sign out front reading «check engine light on? Free inspection.» Check engine light was on but no noticeable issues. So I brought it in for the free inspection, and was sold on a spring special $ 9.99 bumper to bumper inspection. That’s a good deal, why not. Guy at the counter was friendly enough.
Problems:
#1: They didn’t call to inform me my car was ready, it was Saturday 12 minutes before close and I had to call them.
#2: As I’m checking out, the guy informs my it will be $ 124, slightly higher than the $ 9.99 we talked about a few hours prior. So I say, no, you said $ 9.99. He says, «No, the inspection is free but diagnosing the problem is $ 114. What is the difference? There is a sign right next to the register that says «FREE» how are you trying to charge me $ 114? So after some arguing, he conceded, thankfully. I am happy to pay for services, and am not trying to screw anyone out of money.
#3: They listed a few problems including «the air filter is clogged,» when I got in my car it is sitting on the floor-​they didn’t even put it back in, so when I opened my glove box everything came trashing out on to the floor. WTF?
#4: EVER SINCE I TOOK MY CAR HERE THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WHEN I TRAVEL OVER 50 MILES PER HOUR. I have over 180,000 miles on my car and THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE I BROUGHT IT HERE. What did you do to my car?
DO NOT GO HERE. There are plenty of mechanics that can inspect your car and not cause it damage like they have clearly done to many reviewers’ cars. Unfortunately I did not read the reviews prior. How is it possible that there are so many reviews saying you caused damage to people’s vehicles if it weren’t true?

Come did alignment after about hoiur mechanic told me I need to replace steering tack or what ever u call it cuz it was leaking oil very bad, also said I need to replace brake light cuz it was out and bunch of other things, like olways I said no I’ll fix it myself, so what you guys think was my car driving straight now, yes right bullll shit, got home raised car up inspected my car myself and didn’t find absolutely nothing with my steering tack or what ever u call it, and its not leaking nothing andddd I never dssw any oil spots on the concrete where I ark my car, yes lkight was working fine, so yes they just tried to rip me off, offff one more thing you know when they inspect your car and there is like 2 more people needs to check\reinspect car and sign off well that never hapends when other mechanic rechecks ur car well that’s a bull other mechanic just signs it and walk off never even looks, saw it with my own eyes can’t screw me there, yes not happy with them at all. Never going there again. And word of device if you ever go there, WHEN THEY SAY OR RECOMENDS TO REPLACE SOMETING UNDERNEATH YOUR CAR DONT DO IT TAKE IT TO YOUR LOCAL MECHANIC AND LET HIM RECHECK YOUR CAR AND THEN GO FROM THERE, so yes never again going there after they try to rip me off for $ 900+ … Be smart stay safe

Awful. Just awful. I had to beg the employee – who was too busy slurping a Cup Noodles to offer any kind of assistance – to honor the price that I was quoted over the phone five minutes before arriving. No sense of urgency. No sense of customer service.
And three months later, my car wouldn’t start, because my brand new battery was leaking and corroded. I opted to purchase a new battery via AAA – it wasn’t worth it to step foot in this store again to discuss the warranty on my battery and have it replaced.

They inspected my flat tire and were able to repair it. Very honest, given they could have just written the tire off as unrepeatable and upsold me on new tires. Walked away with a $ 20 bill instead of $ 400 bill. They are open on Sunday, which is more than I can say for our original tire shop choice, Les Schwab. Glad Firestone was open instead!

I just brought my jeep in for a diagnoses, I’m going to do the work myself. They were quick to discover the issue, and professional. Marty is who helped me. Saved me tons of time figuring out the issue, and they didn’t try to scam me into extra work :) thanks guys!

Update– they closed 20 minutes before «close» so I couldn’t get my vehicle…

Went for an oil change. They said «we can get you right in. It’ll be about an hour.» It took a little longer than that. Just seems too long for an oil change.

Worked with the service manager Rollie. He was excellent! I had an appointment to get new tires. I realized that there were others services I wanted to get done and he and his staff made it happen! My car was in and out in a few hours and I am very pleased. Firestone also has a good deal going right now if you apply for one of their credit cards.

Yay for these people! They took my poor car in on a SUNDAY, and were able to return it to me that evening. They were nice, and thorough, and made my whole weekend!

Sexist, careless and slow. When I first went in to make an appointment the service was slow, but the guys seemed nice so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The next day, when I dropped off my car for an oil change, the service was just as slow. I had also asked them if they could check out a squeaky belt for me. I went to a nearby business for some food while I waited. They said it would be about an hour and half. I called two hours later and they said the car had been ready for a while, but no phone call. After I paid for the oil change the guy mentioned he made some notes for «my boyfriend or husband or whatever to look over.”(regarding the squeaky belt) Stunned by his comment I took my keys and left. I will not return to a business who hire employees with the mindset that men know better then women. Left with a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry, but not sorry.

Not sure why all the bad reviews. I have been bringing my cars here for years and all the guys that work here have always been nice and super helpful. I randomly brought my BMW in because I was in town visiting my parents and they checked the tired, recalibrated very thing for me without trying to sell me anything. I was totally thinking I needed new tires since I wasn’t really gripping the road all that well in the rain. The guy told me NOT to let anyone convince me otherwise to buy new ones yet since it wasn’t needed. The wait was a little long but that’s because they are trying to help people as best they can!

Absolutely agree with all the other reviews here. I brought my car in to investigate a slow leak on 1 tire and sure enough there was a nail not only in that one but in another. Somehow, it wasn’t repairable and they said my warranty only covers certain types of road hazards, not nails though… what?! Then they pro rate it on the life of your tire. Well my 60k tires I bought from them had 50% tread after 2 years. I drive 6k per year MAX. These tires were obviously pieces of junk. Also when they said the wear was not even between the front 2 tires, I asked how could this be and they said my alignment was off. Why would my alignment be off — YOU’RE the ones who put the tires on. You don’t check alignment when you do that?
You guys have seriously perfect the art of screwing the customer out of nickles and dimes.

It took a while to get service, so I eventually left. 10 minutes is a long time to wait in a store that only sells tires. Not much to look at or do while waiting.

Avoid this place. Les Schwab is just down the street and they don’t scam their customers out of money. Unfortunately, when I needed to get something fixed on my girlfriends car Les Schwab wasn’t open.
Long story short, While installing a new headlight in my girlfriends car, 2 sets of wires came out of the casing as I removed it from the vehicle’s body. I knew exactly what the problem was, it needed to be re-​wired. A very simple task actually, but as I couldn’t tell which wire was positive and which was negative, I decided it would be best to take it somewhere. That somewhere was Firestone.
I explained the situation and exactly what was wrong. I was told they would need to run a diagnostic… I felt that was silly considering that I already knew exactly what needed to be done, but they insisted and I went ahead with it because I just wanted to get her vehicle fixed. After running the diagnostic they informed me they would need a special part to re-​wire things, but that they didn’t have that part, and the part would cost $ 60 on top of labor fees that would bring my total to around $ 120.
Clearly this was a ridiculous cost given the very small nature of the problem. We’re literally talking about a part that simply extends the wire so that it has more slack to reach the headlight casing. On top of that I had to pay nearly $ 60 for them to tell me what I already knew (and had told them) and the problem wasn’t fixed.
Do not go here, this company will scam you out of your money.

Mannnn…the people are friendly and their intentions are good but don’t go here… I ordered new wheels for my truck and A: their tech started my truck without pushing the clutch in, slammed it into a concrete wall and caused over 2K in damage (2 days ago). They tried to show me this small dent and say that is all that happened but neglected to show how the whole passenger side was smashed in!
Wheels came as they had explained but not the caps and then after putting the wheels on stated that they are non refundable due to them being on…
Also, they screwed up my alignment which they did fix after a second day… not sure why I let them… ohhh and it goes on and on… what a nightmare… go elsewhere!!!

Say you’re driving a friend to a party one fine Friday night, and all the lights on your car start to dim, except for some weird lights on the dash that weren’t there before. And a beeping comes from someplace unknown, right before the turn signals stop working.
You’d pull over, right? Good thinking. We’re all on the same page.
So then what? My regular mechanic is closed all weekend. I am told by Triple A that this is likely an alternator issue, and no they won’t jump me or let me purchase a new battery because I won’t get very far. But would I like a tow?
Fine. But I still want to go to the party. So.
AAA tows to my house, sans me, and my friend and I hitch a ride. I have a couple of drinks and decide to think about it later. Damn straight, I’ll have another — I don’t have to drive!
«Later» = about 1am when I get home. I vaguely recall getting new tires on a weekend in a similar quagmire at a place nearby that supposedly does other stuff like oil changes and «auto care.» Bridgestone? Firesomething?
Ah, there they are. Thank you, Internet. Oh and would I like to make an appointment online this weekend? Why, yes, thank you! What’s my mileage? Hold on… let me go check… zzzz…
The next morning, I think I’ve drunk dialed an appointment, but um… I’d better call to be sure.
The appointment hasn’t come through just yet, they say, but come on in and we’ll get you fixed right up today!

While normally a situation like this might make me feel panicked and pressured and out of control, the Firestone folks were, I felt, really straightforward and reasonable about their recommendations and gave me both respect and choices every step of the way.
You don’t have to get a new battery, they say, but it probably won’t last you much longer, since the alternator’s given it a severe beating. For example.
Fast forward through: several hours, yummy lunch at the Thai place a short walk away (my preferred version of a waiting room), one alternator, one battery, and one oil change — declining the suggestion for new radiator tubes — and I’m on the road. For about as much or even a little less than Internet had warned me these services should cost.
No rental car needed. No «my car ate my homework» excuses at work. And I still got to have a good weekend. Yay.
