I pulled a flash drive out of a computer without ejecting it(100% my fault) and it flipped out in a way that I’ve never seen before with any of the dozens of flash drives I own. This one had years of data on it, and I was devestated. Fix My Dead PC had hours I could get to and was on my bus line, so I gave them a try. I second the idea that I like the feel of their shop. They were easy to talk to. They explained their pricing up front, which felt high, but then again I was in a hurry and upset so I agreed. In the end, they tried to salvage everything they could off the flash drive, which wasn’t much. They had file names for hundreds of files, but all the paths were corrupt. They put all the data they could mine, unsorted, onto a CD for me. Maybe I would have gotten the exact same result at a different shop, or even fewer results. I just don’t know. I don’t want to give them a 1 star review, bc the original error was mine and maybe nothing more could have been done. But I also don’t feel 100% confident that someone else couldn’t have done more. Next time, I think I will drive to a different place.

I really like to use local businesses, but twice now I’ve brought a computer to these guys to repair, and both times it’s been a lousy experience. They’re nice enough guys, but they don’t communicate at all well, the service really stunk and the repairs just weren’t right. Never again.

I specifically told them I didn’t want to pay for a «tune up» or «virus scan»(etc.), knowing that they once overcharged my husband. They’re close. I’m lazy. Anyway, sure enough, one week $ 40 for a «mini tune up», $ 20 to «get it on the bench» and $ 40 to blow out the fan. I’m sure they guy spent a good half hour dinking with it, maybe an hour tops, but $ 100 just seems high. My husband went to pick it up and when he heard about the«mini tune up», he about took a steaming poop.

They installed a motherboard and didn’t connect USB ports. When a hard drive locked up, the wife/secretary gleefully told me that all the data was destroyed and seemed to really relish telling me this. Actually I had avoided talking to her on previous occasions as I found her incredibly unprofessional and combative. My slow performance was later correctly diagnosed by another shop as a small change in the BIOS, which they missed. I will never let these people touch my computers again.

I took my older and much beloved PC here because it was, as their states, dead. They identified the issue quickly and the charge to repair it was totally reasonable. I like the feel of the place. No «we’re geeks and we know it all» kind of thing. I’ll be back should the need arise again.

I had my laptop cleaned up here. I was very wary about bringing it in because I’d read horror stories about computer repair shops doing horrible things to your computer. The terrible thing is, not being technically savvy I would never know if they did. Anyway, they seemed to be very friendly and professional. They did a free diagnosis, called me to quote me a price, called me back when they said they would to tell me it was ready… and, they seem to have done a good job – everything is working fine.

Very trustworthy shop. This is the scenario: My sister’s boyfriend has this laptop and his shift key, backspace key, caps lock key and a couple others stopped working. I told him that he probably needed a new keyboard, but he thought he might have a virus and wanted me to take the laptop in for him to get it diagnosed. I took the lap top in as requested and told the guys what was happening. Instead of taking the computer out of my hands… the gentleman responded by saying that the computer might just need a new keyboard, and that we could do that by calling Dell. So what I am trying to say is that he didn’t like try to get any extra money out of me. He was being honest… and trustworthy by telling me that I just had to call Dell for this issue. No fee for his recommendation. They charge $ 40.00 for a computer diagnoses. If you choose to fix your computer with them, they will knock that price down to $ 20.00 plus repair charges… so that is a pretty good deal. Good place to get your computer fixed.
