Franklin Painting

I hired Franklin Painting to paint my house. I made the mistake of paying Jason Owens, the owner in full before the job was done. He never finished and now we get to go to court. I recommend avoiding Jason Owens and Franklin Painting.

Our eight year old home was badly in need of a paint/​caulk job and some minor dry rot repair. I contacted Ken Verhallen painting in Oregon City for a quote but they were booked for the season. They referred me to Franklin Painting and Restoration.
Owner, Jason Owens was quick to respond to my quote request and came out the next business day. His knowledge of construction techniques that were used on my house and his ability to point out possible problem areas that might arise and have solutions to those areas impressed me greatly. His bid was very reasonable compared to the five other bids I received, as was the hourly rate for repairs needed. We were not in an emergency situation to get the job done, so I was able to be flexible with the timeline for completion.
Franklin Painting had several jobs that were part of the 2014 Street of Dreams, so after they completed those we booked out time for the last week of July, a nice hot, dry week. We decided on four colors from Sherwin Williams Super Paint and were on our way!
7:00 am the paint crew was on site caulking the snot of out my house. I was very surprised by their attention to detail. I expected to find issues but they did a great job. By early afternoon, caulk and taping crew was gone and the sprayer guy was the only one left. What a job he did! A painter who truly cares about the quality of his work. Two solid coats over the entire home.
7:00 am on day two and the crew is back! Unmasking and painting trim all over. They checked with me several times to make sure they were meeting my expectations and they put up with my flip flopping on how I wanted the trim done. They were done by early afternoon.
So all in all a great experience. The crew was great, Jason came by several times checking progress and making sure it was going smooth, and I played the role of obsessive home owner walking around, being nosey, and asking more than my fair share of annoying questions. And I tried to do what every every customer should: offer plenty of ice water and try to make sure I stayed out of their way.

Wanted a quote on painting the exterior of our home. Scheduled an appointment and included my cell number in case they were running late. Gave up my Saturday waiting. Never heard from them.
