Frock Boutique

If I could give this boutique 10 stars, I would. As I was sitting outside and enjoying some delicious chicken from the Alberta Market, I had the unfortunate experience of being on the receiving end of a bird relieving itself mid-​air. Of course I was wearing a very lovely and very white lace blouse, so not only was it disgusting-​it was also quite evident. I was (of course) on my way to a meeting, so I popped into Frock and briefly explained my dilemma while quickly trying to find a top. The sweet lady that helped me offered use of her rest room and a sponge, where I tried unsuccessfully to clean myself up. After giving up on that, I found a cute and reasonably priced top and headed to check out. The same wonderful lady rang me up and even gave me a «Bird Poop» discount. This place is seriously amazing in every way.

I happen to be a business owner… and the small boutique business can be really tough on so many levels. The reason I give a 5 star to Frock has to do with their ability to keeping the store fresh, exciting, fun, season after season, year after year. They are no one hit wonder. Their size of space is probably challenging for them, but ti has a lot of merchandise and it works. Additionally, the owners have a genuine energy and smile that engages you… But it’s probably because they like what they do… it shows…

I love Frock. If I need a creative, sweet gift for someone I can find it here. I purchased a locally made leather free change purse as well as a great ring there and love them! They have a unique selection of clothing — cute skirts, dresses and shirts. I like to bring my out of town guests to Frock to give them a taste of what a great boutique in Portland is like!

Very disappointed. The products were all 100% me, but I wandered around the store for at least 10 minutes without a staff member acknowledging me (there were 2 other customers that left, and I wasn’t talked to until I approached the counter with a question). I was going to buy some gifts but ended up putting them back on my way out, since I’d rather give my money to somewhere that’s at least halfway friendly. Oh well.

Angie was so helpful and cheerful. I found some cute dresses for the winter time, an awesome Flipside hat, and adorable ornaments.

Great shop! Surprising quantity and variety of goods strategically placed in a small space. Every time I turned around I saw something else to catch my eye. In the end I left with a poncho and a wallet for me and a pair of earrings for a friend with a birthday coming up. Prices were in line with the merchandise being offered. And the woman staffing the counter was friendly and helpful. I’ll be back to shop again soon and you may want to stop in an take a look too.

Frock is my and my daughters’ favorite destination boutique in Portland. It’s on trend and not overly expensive. They have a lovely range of clothing, jewelry, and small gifts. My interactions with the staff have always been authentic and fun.

From this Seattle-​ite who was visiting Portland last weekend: I wish Seattle had a store that was even halfway this creative and fun to shop in. I was in NE this past weekend to have brunch across the street at the dog-​friendly Tin Shed (great brunch, btw) and while waiting thought I’d check out the cute-​looking shop across the street. From the moment I walked in, I knew it was a FIND. The owners (one of them, Angie, was there that day) clearly have a vision for what they want to collect and offer — and it’s ORIGINAL and funky but polished at the same time and, did I mention, original. I found two great pairs of earrings and a necklace before brunch, and went back after brunch with my fellow brunchers (brought 3 more girls-​women into the store) and we all found fab things — a cool top, a beautiful but funky-​informal dress, two caps/​hats, a sweater-​dress, and probably some other things I’m forgetting. I love the wide price range, so you can find what you need (for you or for a gift) in the price range that works for you. I will plan to visit every time I am down in Portland!

I was given a dress from Frock Boutique. I went into to shop to see if I could pick something else. My clerk was very friendly and offered me my choice of cash or exchange. I found a delightful skirt and a funky hat and walked away with the $ 10 difference in my pocket. They also have a lot of lovely jewelry. Great experience!

Super cute shop! I love all the funky and cute jewelry. If you are a girly-​girl, this is the place for you. The dresses all look really cute and comfortable, stuff I would actually wear (If I wore dresses more)
I wish I’d discovered it earlier, but I just don’t spend that much time on Alberta. Maybe I will have to start!
This would also be a great place to buy a gift for your best friend or even a coworker. I’m sure I can always find something to buy here. Uh oh… hide my wallet!

I am ashamed to say that I only just visited Frock for the first time this weekend. What an amazing find! They had an outstanding selection of dresses and jewelry in all different price ranges. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that they carry dresses from Effies Heart, which is a great (and affordable) dress brand.
The really special part about my visit to Frock was the service. I came with my friend and her two young daughters. The little ones were high-​energy and goofy, and the woman working there was so generous and so patient with having kids in the store! She gave them candy and challenged them to a game. In my book, this is the mark of a very special type of local business.

How frocking cute is this place. Cute clothes, but not all my fave. Some cute jackets, handmade/​sewn/​repurposed locally. But kinda pricey. The «gift» stuff (like jewelry and accessories) is SUPER adorable and affordable. The girl in the store was really nice, too. I already wanna go back and buy something.

Plan at least 2 hours for browsing! Because there is that much fabulous stuff in here! Love this neighborhood & love this shop. Too many fun and random pieces of joy! A must-​visit. Words can’t explain, just GO Already!

OMG where has this shop been all my life? This is totally up my ally. From the outside it looks like nothing more than girly dresses and such, however, it’s much more than that. Everything was up my ally. I feel instantly in love with the following:
Music note dress in white.
Bacon socks
Hamburger socks
Rabbit cards
coin purses

I get excited when I go into a boutique that has the words «SHOP LOCAL» on the front. However when over 75% of the items I pick up to look at say, «Made in China» on the tag and label, I feel like I’ve been tricked and cheated. Gross.

I come here at least once a week with my daughter. She is two yrs old and we LOVE helping her «find the baby» a little doll that the store owner bids.
The staff are so nice! I love the concept, all these awesome cute things, even though some may be a little over priced, I love putting my money back into the community! This is a great store to buy something for someone and say «yea, the awesome people in Portland made this!» I never leave empty handed. All cute and unique!

Frock Rocks! This place is packed full of fun for every one. Jewelry, clothes and free gum balls! Who could ask for more?

I hate shopping. I hate shopping because for most of my life, it’s been difficult to find clothes that fit my rubenesque figure. I also generally hate shopping in boutiques because when I take my chunky, full-​figured frame into a «boutique,» the too skinny-​flat chested bitches behind the counter look at me like I’m crazy to even cross the threshold. The unstated message is «we do not sell clothing for fat girls like you.»
Frock is anthesis of the snooty boutique experience. It stocks real-​life size clothing that fits my frame, which ranges from a size 10 – 16, depending on the consistency in which I drown my sorrows in ice cream and the availability of Mad Men or True Blood series on DVD.
Of all the items of clothing in my wardrobe, my Frock inventory is among my most highly complemented items of clothing. Their selection is saucy, savvy and super sexy. They also sell pieces I haven’t seen in any other shop in Portland — their buyers have an eye for style and are looking for unique lines that look good on all kinds of bodies.
The prices mean that every item I buy is an investment, but an investment in which I the goods that drape my buxom booty look super fine.

Frock knocked my socks off.
Shopping for a baby shower puts me totally out of my element. Thank God for registries. And onesies. A Unilocal thread and a recommendation on there by Lori F. saved me. That’s how I found Frock. I sort of had the idea that Frock would be a baby store but nope, there is super cute, one-​of-​a-​kind grown up stuff too. I spent quite a while pawing through lots of really unique jewelry, hair accessories and cute clothes.
There is of course a nice little section for babies. That’s where I found two tiny tees. My pal is having twin girls. These lovely little tees are fortune telling tees that are all wrapped up like a fortune cookie with the child’s future contained within. Even I don’t even know what I bought. Am I responsible for how these children turn out because I bought the shirts? Am I just the oracle?
I’m pretty sure Elizabeth isn’t superstitious.

What the Frock?
I feel like I’m the Little Mermaid… singing my queries about how many wonders one cavern can hold… (too much??) because Frock was simply amazing.
Stephy S went into instant deal-​radar mode and scoped out an amazing jacket, I of course went towards the jewels (Look Laura, something shiny!) and ended up with some bling for dang near every body part.
The shop is very small but packs quite a punch — you can find anything from local print tees to headbands and handbags. The price range varies, but as you can read from Stephy’s review… there are deal waiting on every hanger.
