The park itself is really nice but if you’re under 10 you’re not welcome. Far too often it is monopolized by the typical late 20’s mid 30’s skate punk who blasts metal on a boom box and will curse any child who wants to use it. It’s annoying as it seems there’s no time it is not being used. The flip side is that it’s not neglected. The only way a kid can use the park is to sign up for a skating class by the Parks Service who takes it over so kids can learn to ride.

This park is great for a bomber board, pool junkies, and transition riders from novices to experts. If you’re looking to ride street, this isn’t the place for you. The snake run has lots of options leading into the 9′ wall, the biggest in the park. The mini pool is usually where I end up, I just love how much pool coping this place has to offer. Gabriel Park is also a large park with sports fields, playgrounds, and a dog park. So although it is a dog & kid friendly environment, keep them out of the middle of the snake run, unless they’re shredding it!
