George Street Photo & Video

We won the George Street Photo & Video Contest, so we feel like we can’t complain, but if we were paying full price for this service, I would have some concerns. The staff were very friendly and personable and made us feel comfortable with being filmed and photographed. We got a lot of great photos out of the shoot, however, the photographer missed the mark on some of my specific requests. The photographer did not communicate well with the wedding guests about what he wanted them to do in the group photos or when he would be taking the picture, so it was hard to get a large group photo where everyone looked great. I have a picture of the girls catching the bouquet, but not one of me tossing it, even though I posed for this shot. I also felt like we spent so much time doing photographs that we didn’t get to really enjoy the wedding and spending time with our guests. The video had some great highlights, but there were some abrupt transitions and lighting changes that made it appear unprofessional. Apparently, multiple cameras were used with different lighting settings. We got a lot of great photos as well as quite a few duds. The video captured some nice highlights despite the awkward lighting changes. I manage my disappointments by acknowledging that the service was free and I got what I paid for. If you have high standards for photo and video and you would like to deal with your photographer and videographer more directly, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

My experience ended when the rep reached out via email confirming an appointment, and told me they cannot move forward with a meeting until I have chosen my wedding venue.
I had my wedding date picked out, and told her it’s a significant date thus won’t be changing it regardless of where the wedding is. I also told her it will be within the Portland area since all of our friends and family live here. Nope, it’s a «company policy» and they cannot proceed to meet with me until everything is locked down.
All I wanted was to receive some information on how the company works and what kind of packages they might offered. It was discouraging. She did offer to check back with me when I have the venue, but by then it was too late and I already met with someone else who was much more understanding.
Time to change your company policy!
