Portland, OR
The Glacial Erratic, a bit of local flavor, is a wonderful rock uncovered from a local excavation. There are some small color shade differences, though the rock is not too exciting. Still, it is an interesting thing to look at while on the benches of the Eastbank Esplanade near the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. An adjacent plaque even goes into lots of detail considering that this is still just a rock.
I walked next to this having never seen it before. The story managed to be a bit neat, though I was in a hurry. This is just one of many museum demonstrations of local geology.
