I didn’t realize that this was a by-appointment orthotics clinic with clinicians on-site. I dropped in with a prescription for a rigid shoe due to a broken toe, thinking I could simply grab one and go. The staff fit me in immediately between their existing appointments, processed my patient and insurance information, called the insurance for pre-approval, and found and fitted the shoe. I was on my way in about half an hour. They could have told me to schedule an appointment and come back later, but instead went the extra mile to help me on the spot, even though I visibly surprised them by just dropping in.

I had a great experience at Hanger Orthotics. I have a collapsed arch, and when I don’t have custom made orthotics my knee caps pop out of place, and I can’t work. So when I scheduled an appointment here I was delighted to find out that someone who had made my custom inserts before was now an employee here. He did a good job last time, and they did a good job this time. They also scheduled me an appointment around my working schedule, which isn’t easy to do, given that they had to start my appointment before the business even opened! Last, I was paying out of pocket, and due to financial difficulties gave me a small discount that helped out me and my family. Seriously, the customer service couldn’t be beat!

Able to get insurance paperwork in. That’s why they get two stars. Not able to make a socket to fit above he knee amputee after 4 attempts and over 20 appointments. Oh, and remind them if your appointment falls after a national holiday that they may want to consider that before scheduling. They don’t seem to remember the holidays. We had an appt for the Tuesday after Labor Day. Once they realized it was a holiday, they pushed us out to following Friday. Not very considerate considering we are waiting for a socket so my husband can walk without a severe limp, pain and a cane. My kids dread the days he has Hanger appts. because it is usually worse or a waste of time and Dad ends up cranky and gravely disappointed.
