Worst place ever, if you want to get ripped off this is where you go, the guy Tony is the worst customer service ever and they will do whatever they need to do to earn a penny, took my car in to get AC put in and they said I needed more stuff, was suppose to be $ 90 ended up being $ 600 and now my AC blows hot air smh when I called to ask why they didn’t have an answer for me, my lost there gain, the shop should be called Dishonest-​1 auto

Transmission repair cost me 4K and it was was just a rebuild. Biggest rip off ever. I can’t believe I was found enough to pay for it. Avoid these people at all cost.

This shop is amazing. My check engine light came on, and he took me in same day, on New Years eve, got me in and out the same day. Being my personal vehicle as well as used as my vehicle for UBER, it was important that I had my car out as quickly and available to drive that night, safety first for my customers as well. I will come back here, and totally recommend him. Kind and courteous, service. And they give AAA discounts as well.

This place is defrauding people out of their money. I took my car here in an emergency and was hit with a massive bill, even though the problem was never worked on. The guy who works the phone is an eel who promises to never do work until approved, but doesnt tell you that «diagnostics» are a part of the process to get an estimate until it has already been done. Between a couple of phone calls, «repairs» had taken twenty minutes for something that should have taken hours or days.
I had an amateur mechanic take a look at the problem and they immediately saw that a clip simply wasnt in all the way, yet these people charge me hundreds of dollars to replace parts that cost less than $ 3 combined.
I am awaiting a reply back from the Better Business Bureau (which may end proving pointless) to get my money back and this is why this review is at this time vague. I just couldnt bear any longer the thought of waiting to leave a warning if there was a possibility that others following me would experience the same rip off as I have. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. It has already been several weeks and Honest 1 has not replied to any complaints. To top it all off, not only they did not fix the problem and charge for me doing no work, the problem returned with a vengeance and put my life at risk. It cost me police tickets and further repairs.

Wanting to take good care of my vehicle, I purchased a 1-​year car care package through living social. Among the many listed benefits were four oil changes and $ 25 off a transmission flush, which I needed anyway! I called and made an appointment for the services and my husband brought our vehicle in. The person at the desk, Tony — who said he was the owner, said he would only give us $ 15 off the transmission flush. I had printed the deal that I had purchased, it was all there. My husband called me to let me know what was going on and I ended up talking to Tony, he was very rude and I asked who his supervisor was — he laughed and said he’s the owner. I told him I didn’t think it was funny, that I’m feeling like I’ve been scammed with a bait and switch, he ended up hanging up on me, and threw the keys at my husband.
I am appalled by the horrible customer service and lack of professionalism demonstrated by Tony — I wouldn’t be surprised to learn the name he gave was fake … If I treated customers the way he did, I wouldn’t want to give my real name, either.
P. S. I contacted Living Social and they were great; they cheerfully refunded my purchase price because the business was refusing to honor it — so at least someone remembers what customer service should be!

I have been coming here for about two years now and have always had a good experience. Granted, the front desk can be a little short and have a little attitude (which is why not 5 stars), but I used to work in body shops, so I know the type and it doesn’t bother me. They seem honest and open to me and I don’t usually feel that way about mechanics. I have no reason to go anywhere else as they have done right by me. It’s also nice to see all the guys at the front desk also go out and do the work and get their hands dirty.

I paid for a pre-​purchase inspection at Honest One on 82^nd Avenue before purchasing a vehicle at a nearby dealer. They identified a couple items that requiring fixing, so I went back to the used car dealer to negotiate the purchase price down in order to fund those repairs.
But when I took the car to the Hyundai dealer (to have an electronic key made), the dealer immediately noticed that two door actuators were broken (repair cost totaling over $ 500). The dealer didn’t need to take the door apart or spend any time, the problem was immediately apparent to them. But Honest One completely missed the broken actuators in their pre-​purchase inspection. Their inspection also missed two oil leaks and a malfunctioning sensor.
To add insult to injury, they are refusing to refund the $ 89 price I paid for their pre-​purchase inspection. They expect me to pay for both their flawed inspection and for the cost of repairs that they missed.
I’ve had very positive experiences with Honest One on McLoughlin Blvd for several years, but I suggest you stay far away from «Honest One» on 82^nd Avenue.

This is my very first time a put a review here. Just had to after twice being handles without respect. Customer service is really bad in this place, I don’t know if that goes from person to another but these guys always have attitude. I asked the dude at the from how long was my cars oil change going to take and he got all like «I.I don’t know man just wait. maybe 15 min I don’t know» he was looking at me like I just woke him up or something. I will use my group on here till it expired and them in out. I hope they read my review, it’s not cool to be a dick at 8 In the morning man, not cool.

I would give this establishment zero stars if I could, unfortunately I cannot. I can only plead for people to GO GET THEIR REPAIRS DONE SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN THIS PLACE. They take advantage of people, and do not use good parts for repairs. Here are two examples.
1. I took my car here from 2011 – 2012 for various repairs. The only reason I stopped going (at that point) was because I moved and it was an inconvenience to drive that far. I have taken my car in to a different mechanic since and I am now fixing all the problems that they caused in the first place. I got a timing belt done here in 2011 which they charged me approximately $ 700. After this I had to take it back a handful more times because oil was leaking from my vehicle and every time they replaced a different gasket or seal to fix the problem. The problem was never fixed. Just after 2 years, I did a dye test at the new mechanic (which was never offered to me at this location in which dye is put into your car to see exactly where the oil leak is coming from) and it turns out the leaks were coming from everywhere! All the parts had failed and I had to have an entirely new timing belt put in along with all the seals. Because they only have a one year warranty on their parts, there was nothing I could do and no refund was given.
2. Another time I took my car in (2011 again) and they said I needed to replace the spark plugs in my car. Since I did not remember having that done I agreed and the spark plugs were replaced. I had an oil change the other day and my new mechanic says I need new spark plugs. After I told him I just got them done in 2011, he looked confused and proceeded to actually remove one and see if they were OE or not. Low and behold the mechanics from this store PUT IN THE WRONG TYPE OF SPARK PLUGS FOR MY VEHICLE. I have a Honda and they put in spark plugs for a Ford. When I went back to look at my receipt they only changed 1 spark plug (out of 4) and charged me $ 44.00 in labor. The new mechanic quoted me $ 56 to removed and replace all 4! Again, it is after the warranty period and nothing I could do to get my money back. Although if they offered to fix the problem for free there is no way I would ever come back here.
I’m sure in the months and years to come I will find more problems that need to be fixed from the individuals at this garage. They do not know what they are doing, and if they do know, it means they are just taking advantage of everyday people and charging them as much money as they possibly can. Despite their name, this business is anything but «honest.»

We’ve gone here twice. The first time was for a headlight fix. Great service — fast, to-​the-​point, no extra hidden charges. Second was for a sensor to be fixed. The manager was great. Gave us the rundown on what we were looking at for the price of the fix and an approximate 3 PM finish time.
Here’s where it got stupid. At 3:45 (15 minutes before they close unbeknownst to us), my wife contacted the shop and asked if our car was ready. The person fielding the call rudely told us that yes, our car was finished and that he’s already contacted us. The number that individual called was my phone number, not the one my wife gave when she dropped the car off. I had my phone off at work, my wife had hers on and was waiting for the call back. He then told her that if she doesn’t come down to the office to pick up the car by 4:00, no one will be there. She said, «Ok, well at least wait for me. I’ll leave right now, should take me 10 minutes to get there.»
«At 4:00 I’m leaving. I’m not waiting around for anyone,» was the response.
So, not only did they contact the wrong number, but we got attitude and a total lack of any understanding of the problem that this guy created. On top of that, they’re closed on Sunday, so we missed a very important event that we needed the car for. On top of that, we’ll be missing 3 – 4 hours of work to pick up the car. On top of that, we’re having to call upon a friend to miss an hour of work to give us a lift over there.
This whole thing was an annoyance and despite us liking the service to begin with, we’re not feeling the service now. I’ll vote with my dollars and go to any one of the myriad of other auto shops around town.

Didn’t note my appointment when I called. Minus 1 star. Didn’t honor special on his own website. Minus 1 star. Owner was rude and condescending. I’ll go somewhere else next time.

I do NOT recommend this place anymore. Yeah, it was nice to go somewhere that when I ask for just an oil change-​thats all I had to pay for. Unfortunately we recently had an aweful experience. Took my 2006 Kia in for the timing belt that was recommended by the dealership. I had asked Honest-​1 about it at my last oil change and was told it cost between $ 300-​$ 350.
So I dropped my car off. Of course later I got the infamous call that it was going to cost twice that much. I could not believe how stupid I was. I trusted the managers word (Tony) when he had quoted me a few months ago and didn’t think to ask when I dropped off my car. I find it rediculous that car shops like this one do not let their clients know even a ROUGH idea of costs before they leave. I myself work at a vets office where if a client has to pay even $ 10 for a service, they are asked to sign an estimate that states we will call if there are any changes-​AND BEFORE we begin any extra service.
So after making me feel like an idiot, cry on the phone, and telling me they already took my car apart (sure) they were able to bring the price down to $ 433. AWESOME. It was either that or pay for them to put my car «back together» for ~$ 150
I would rather take my car to college students that can practice on it and learn from working on my car than go back to a shady shop. I do have friends of friends that I can contact for my future car care. I will feel bad bothering them, but at least I can trust them more than Honest-​1.

I would never in a million years recommend this auto care shop to anyone. Almost exactly a year ago the motor mounts on my Jetta broke causing the engine to push up on the transmission. I had to have the transmission replaced, the motor mounts replaced, and an axel replaced. A couple of weeks ago the motor mounts broke off and broke the bottom engine bracket off, so I took it in to have it fixed because they should be under warranty. Then Jerry tells me that we (my boyfriend and I) bottomed out the car, which we didnt, and if we say we didnt then were liars. He said there was metal pealed back, scrapes, and scratches. He even took pictures to prove it and would show us. When we got there, he had no pictures. I said fuck it and had him replace the motor mounts. Now the car stopped running and it was making a wierd noise so I looked under the car. NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH OR SCRAPE!!! To top that off, the axel they replaced broke and thats why it stopped running. Oh, I forgot to mention when they replaced the axel they didnt bolt it together and it came apart while I was driving, endangering my life. But they took it back in and bolted it back together without an apology.
This isnt the only bad service we had. We had to have the heater core replaced too last year so we took it to them. They drilled a hole in the dash without ever saying anything and didnt put the cd player back in right or the lighter, just left it dangling. The heater doesnt even work right. Plus it still smells like antifreeze when you turn it on. YUM!
$ 3000+ in repairs for what? To have to have it all replaced a year later with attitude from their «service manager». Who is rude and tries to make you feel like an idiot without listening to anything you have to say because he knows everything?
Never again will we bring a car to this place.

Took my ’93 Sentra here to find out why it was dying. Eventually they said it was an ignition switch; quoted $ 160.00 to replace. Ended up it needed a whole new ignition; $ 200.00 which they told me when I picked up my car. They had my cell #; I would have expected a call about the higher than quoted price. I also felt they were very condescending; that «Dumb woman doesn’t know anything about cars» attitude.

I am a regular here because they live up to their name. I used to live close by, but now I drive 15 minutes over here to get an oil change. I’ve been coming here for 4 years and my car runs great. Why? I have a 1999 Toyota which needs maintenance now and then. I always talk with the SAME mechanic at the front (I think he’s the manager) and he knows my car well. I ask «do I need this or that?» and he often says I don’t need to do anything… how rare is that? He’ll tell me what to plan on budgeting for in the next year and such.
I can’t say enough good things about this place.
Totally worth the drive if you don’t live close by. I usually pop in and I’m done with the oil change in 20 minutes (and he doesn’t try to get me to buy anything besides my oil change). It doesn’t hurt that they also have a clean waiting room and computers/​internet/​magazines to keep you occupied.
