Immortal Piano Company

Immortal piano is a museum of musical craftsmanship. Every piano has been lovingly refurbished, tuned, and polished to its original luster. I frequent the store to shop for my dream piano (that I cannot afford.) I play every key on every piano, and am treated with the care and attention of a «normal» shopper. Someday I’ll actually make a purchase, but not until I’ve had a long a detailed tour of every beautiful box of hammers and strings. I know that Martha and Lauren will guide me in my quest for the perfect, affordable, sweet sounding, good looking, piano of my dreams; which I will cherish and care for until I am buried with it and the worms consume us.

I’m a little ashamed to admit that I never looked inside a piano until I bought one at Immortal Piano. Martha has a really cool space, and she’s happy to talk with you for an hour (or two) about how she’s restored each piano in the shop.
I bought one of the cheapest pianos in the store (around $ 1300), but I felt secure in the knowledge that it was a good piano, that it had been restored properly, and that it would still sound good in 10, 20, or 100 years. It’s tempting to spend $ 500 on Craigslist, but you never know what you’re getting. I’d rather spend the extra cash and know I’m getting something great. Happy playing!

I called and spoke to Martha to see if she had an ivory white baby grand for sale. Even though she didn’t, she took a lot of time giving me advice and tips on what to look for and what resources were out there. Very impressed with her pay it forwardness!

Martha is amazing… she knows pianos incredibly well, is very helpful and a pleasure to work with. She does piano restorations & repair, appraisals and also sells pianos that she restores. I was looking to buy a piano from Craigslist as a gift, and I know nothing about music. She did an onsite appraisal of one of them, and during that effort, she also showed me what to look for when buying a used piano. She was very thorough and inspected every last component, and has a detailed document she provides that outlines not just the work needed but how much it would cost.
That particular piano needed too much work, but she helped me find a different one, and even provided a little assistance over the phone to avoid me having to keep paying her for multiple onsite appraisals… that sort of honesty and ethic is rare in business, and I highly respect her for that.
If I had more money, I’d definitely buy one of the pianos that she’s already restored. Just looking at them on her website, you can see the care and detail she puts into selecting high-​quality pianos to restore, and into the restoration itself. If you are looking for a piano or need one repaired or restored, I’d highly recommend Martha and Immortal Pianos!

I wanted to buy a piano here, but did not find «the one». However, what I did find was a wonderful shop full of mostly early 1900’s pianos (with a few more recent ones thrown in for variety), all beautifully restored. The owner is unbelievably knowledgable and will happily spend an hour or two showing you various options. If you love pianos, this is the store for you. Highly recommended.

What on earth is an Immortal Piano? I’ve walked by this Belmont Piano store a gazillion times en route to Movie Madness and puzzled over the meaning of their name. A piano that never dies is the only answer. Regardless of the nuances of their sign, Immortal Piano is a knowledgeable piano dealer with a big selection and an even bigger wealth of knowledge.
