This place has some nice touches that make me really like it.
For istance, when they give you a nail file kit, its a convenient box rather than a flimsy, cheap ziplock bag. And, they have a great selection of polish colors.
I’d go back if I wanted something special like a design on my nails or a particular color for a special occasion. Otherwise, I think Ill go somewhere more affordable where they value my patronage a little more.
The major con, PRICEY!!! ($$$)
I paid $ 76 for an acrylic fill, shelac polish and the most basic of pedicures. Other places tend to be between $ 55-​$ 60 for all of this in my experience. They didnt even offer me a menu of pedicure options.
They stay pretty busy so I would recomend an appointment and dont expect the royal treatment, they dont offer even a glass of water.

Last time I went there for a basic manicure, the woman put oil on my nails before I left, telling me to leave it on to protect them. My nails never fully dried. After several hours, they were still smudging with the simplest tasks. They looked horrible, and I removed them by the end of the day. My sister went there with her bridesmaids to get our nails done for her wedding. Even though we made an appointment in advance, they took a long time to fit some of us in. One bridesmaid was waiting for almost an hour before they got to her. I’ve been there many times over several years, and I’ve honestly never been satisfied with the service or results.

NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN! This $ 50 shellac pedicure is suppose to last 5 weeks and after ONE day the polish came off in whole on my pinky toe, seriously?! I called thinking that they’d offer to fix it or give me a refund and the lady that answered told me «No, I don’t believe that happened»…WHAT!!! I offered to send her a picture and she said «No». I asked for it to be fixed and she said for $ 10 (after already paying $ 50 a day ago???) HORRID customer service! Never getting a shellac pedicure again and NEVER going to this place again! If their goal is to lose good customers then they succeeded.
I’d give them 0 stars if I could!

This is my second time here and both times were both pretty great! Today I got a pedicure and everyone was friendly, they had lots of colors to choose from, and everything was clean. If you need a mani or pedi in this area, this place is a good choice!

I’ve only been here a few times but they are always so consistently great. It’s hard to find a good pedicure and manicure with so many salons to choose from. They are always accommodating and friendly. Parking is never an issue and its location is great if you have errands or want to grab a treat while you’re there. I will definitely go back.

I love this place! The first time me and my cousin went was when they were almost closing and we didn’t even know. They really took their time, asking us how we wanted our nails, and were very friendly. We later realized it was 30 minutes passed their closing time but they still continue with the same pace. They did a really good job with our shellac. I keep on coming back :)

I really dislike this place for a variety of reasons.
1. They did not actually have time for me, they just rushed through their previous service to obtain my business.
2. My shellac polish job was terrible. It chipped off within 2 days. They rushed my service for the next walk in.
3. I got nipped so many times, I bleed and no antiseptic.
4. I saw the lady in the station next to me not sanitize her implements.
5. The lady was sooooo rude that did my nails.
6. My massage was 1 min long. Why get a manicure and not polish change then?
This was actually my second experience here and the same thing happened my first. I really wanted to like this place because of the location convenience… But too bad.

I Made an appointment as it was a Sunday and my usual place wasn’t open. Nowhere to sit and wait when I arrived a few minutes early so I stood in the very small area upfront.
My friend arrived on time and we continued to wait until about 10 minutes after our appt start time. we were sent to the back where her pedi was started while I waited another 10 minutes for someone to come back to me. Her massage chair only partially worked. I am not a fan of the massage chairs but I can see the appeal.
Minimal chit chat with the staff so that’s fine, they however had quite a lot to talk about between themselves. Awkward…
The pedi itself was basic. Soak feet, file nails, leg massage and paint nails. Boom, done and we were both done at leaving 45 minutes after our original appt time.
When you factor in my 20 minute wait time and the $ 30 price tag before a tip a glass of water would have been nice to sip on.
Alas their pedi chairs have no mini table to set that on so I am sure that is why I was not offered any.
They are In a popular spot, parking here can be really bad at certain times of they day. My not returning will not harm their pocketbook at all.

Okay. Oh man, I was really hoping this place would be okay. I mean, it’s in Bridgeport right?
I read the other reviews and decided to give it a shot. But it sucked. We had to wait 15 minutes past our appointment time to sit down. Then we had to wait 20 minutes, while in our chairs, for someone to come over and put water in our pedicure chairs. And it was about another 10 minutes until we started.
I didn’t mind that they weren’t super talkative. Pedicure was fine. Then they made us sit in a cramped corner to dry our nails before the wax, which was supposedly included, and that was uncomfortable. They were super bossy to my friend who came with me and the wax was haphazardly applied and was burning my feet.
I was then charged $ 3 extra, for what I don’t know. And then they forgot to give my friend her debit card back.
So overall, not great. Will not go back.

This is my go to spot for manicures and pedicures for the last three years. Consistently very clean environment. They take good care of me and accommodate my young daughters as well which makes it a great day out for the girls. All of the technicians do good work. And they do a nice job with nail art as well. It gets busy on Saturdays, but easy enough for a walk in other days. No appointment is needed, but I like hat you can make one as well. It is a larger salon which makes it a nice place for a group. Prices are very reasonable, making it an affordable luxury.

This is my go-​to place. They are reasonably priced for the area and they’re really flexible about getting you in for an appointment. You NEED to make an appointment and you should make one with Nikki. I’ve had my nails done by everyone there and she is hands down the best. She takes her time to make them perfect, she has a great sense of humor and really makes an effort to get to know you. I throughly enjoy going to see her.
However, I have been in the position of making an appointment (not with Nikki) and waiting for 45 minutes without even being acknowledged. They definitely have issues managing their time. I recommend going on a week day evening if you can. Despite the time management issues, they really do a better manicure that lasts the longest of any other place I’ve been.

This place is clean and nice, but we had an appointment for 1:15, was on a lunch hour and they didn’t even get to me until almost a half hour + later. Since we were rushed, we didn’t even get to do our parafin wax treatment. We went with a gift certificate so I wasn’t spending my own money, but the place I go regularly is much much better. Nicer staff, etc. I won’t be back.

This place is god awful. Every time I think it will be different, but every time I leave frustrated. First off if you get regular manicures not shellac the nail polish or the process they do it leaves the nail polish soft and very easy to mess up. It does not dry until the next day. I’ve never had this problem any where else I’ve been to. As far as shellac goes they have more colors than any other place I’ve been to which IS a plus because it’s nice to have a selection to choose from. On this recent visit I called to schedule an appointment with a specific person because I liked the way she did my nails the time before, well I was told that she had the day off so I took a chance and scheduled an appointment. Usually, even with an appointment scheduled they don’t get you in till about a half hour later so I was pretty stoked they got me in ten minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Unfortunately and sorry to all males, but I feel like if I am having my nails done I would like a female to take care of me and I look up and see a man is going to be helping me with a pedicure and a shellac manicure. I tried to stay positive until he cut my toe nails down to the skin and then tried filing my toe nails except the only thing he was filing was my skin. He asked me if everything was okay because I looked like I was hurting and I said no because I was annoyed. Then I asked if I could see my toe nails and I let him know that he cut my nails down to the skin and that he can’t file them to make them look decent. His response to me was «oh haha they grow out haha» and I started to get irritated because I’m paying for a service and expect quality. If I wanted my nails to look like a weed whacker cut them I would have done them at home myself for free. So the nail technician next to him looked over and I could tell she was saying something to him in their language which irritated me more. He took the cuticle clippers and I watched him barely cut anything off my toe nails which just kept bothering me because I’m a paying customer and they have this man who doesn’t take his job seriously doing a «service» he has no business doing. I ended up only getting the pedicure and said forget about the shellac that I’d comeback on a day the gal who I liked would be in, but as I finish typing this I will be going to another nail salon to get my shellac manicure. Yes it is a huge inconvenience, but I also work hard for my money and want quality service. I will never come back to this place.

This review would of been no stars if this was a choice.
i made an appointment with Thuy for 3:30 pm this afternoon for a pedicure & manicure and arrived about ten minutes early. I was told that she was a little behind and I was directed to a pedi chair and then instructed to place my feet into the water.
I sat there for nearly 45 minutes without any acknowledgement whatsoever and finally walked out, again without anyone noticing or caring.
I will never return to this nail salon and they obviously do not care. With a salon on every corner why should I care either.

The best mani pedis around and the price is right. An appointment is a good idea as they are always busy.

I’ve had a million mani/pedi’s but the best manicure in the suburbs is here. I quit getting shellac manicures and switched back to regular polish and they do an awesome job of shaping and polishing your nails. Price is great too. The friendliness level goes up and down but when the result is consistently awesome, who cares?!

This place became my go-​to because my office was nearby and they were open late enough that when I worked past 5, I could still get my nails done (within reason)! The space is clean and bright, with plenty of spots for both manicures and pedicures. I love that they give you your own nail kit for just $ 1 (and at $ 1, every time I forgot mine — which was often — I wasn’t crying about having to get a new one… now I have a ton of them…).
Their techs can be pretty hit-​or-​miss, even from service to service, and I will admit that I’ve had not-​so-​great experiences here, but now that I don’t go here anymore, I’m willing to divulge the name of my favorite nail tech :)
One night (early January maybe?) I came in and was sent to a male nail tech I had never seen before — I guess he must have been new. His name was Kenny, and I think he’s their only guy, or was at the time. He isn’t allowed to do pedicures (kind of a weird system, but ok — I assume it has to do with newer people and training), but his shellac manicures are fantastic.
It makes me crazy when they don’t give you enough time under the UV light before the next coat, as I’ve had more than one manicure smudged when they go at it with the acetone after the topcoat, and it’s not quite ready yet.
Kenny takes his time with each nail, ensuring an even coat and also giving the other hand plenty of time under the UV light. So, he’s not the fastest tech, but boy is he thorough! The extra time probably adds up to something like an extra 5ish minutes total on my manicure, and that extra 5 – 8 minutes consistently gave me an extra 2 – 4 days on my gel manicure, so to me it’s totally worth it.
As for other services with other techs — pretty standard 3-​star experience. Pedicures come with a complimentary paraffin wax treatment at the end which is a nice touch. Sometimes they offer drinks and sometimes they don’t, so it’s not terribly consistent in terms of service. Regular polish color selection is pretty good, but in terms of shellac colors, I’ve seen better selections elsewhere. Still, not a bad selection.
Prices here are pretty standard, I’d say, so nothing to rave about but also nothing to cry about. (Keep in mind I live in the DC metro area, so I’m not sure if the average prices are different around Portland.)
I’d still be going to InStyle to see Kenny if my project in Portland hadn’t ended — now I’m in NYC and on the hunt for a new go-​to :(

I was being too lazy to drive out to my usual salon. There were moments during my shellac mani that I wanted to walk out. Let me set the scene…
I came in without an appointment and all the ladies were helping customers. No big deal-​it was my day off and I wasn’t in a rush. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I was seated and my mani began. It was going well.
Then two ladies came in for pedis and that’s where the discomfort began. My nail technician started «rushing» my mani. She began tugging at my hands and continued to look over her shoulder as if to check in on the other ladies that came in after me. I started to get a bit irritated, seeing that I had waited patiently like everyone else. This continued for the next 20 minutes. I don’t expect to have a full blown conversation, but asking me how my day was going or building some sort of rapport would be nice. At the very least, make eye contact. That’s what makes customers return — a positive experience.
The salon is clean, I can’t complain about that. But, for $ 30 for a shellac, I feel a little cheated. My nail bar offers a shellac for the same price, but you get the entire «relaxing» experience plus a glass of wine or beverage. And may I add a smile and a little conversation.
I would’ve gone 2 stars based off of my experience, but even through all her rushing, she did a good job. Next time, I’ll make the drive out to my nail bar and enjoy my experience.

In Style Nails is my favorite place to get my nails done. I’ve gotten mani/​pedis, Shellac manicures and paraffin waxes done here several times and I’m always happy with how my nails turn out. Especially with my Shellac manicures because they last for about 2 – 3 weeks; my nails usually grows out before the Shellac even begins to chip.
This nail salon is very clean. They make sure that you have your own nail kit (you can bring your own or purchase one to keep that’s in a cute case for a few dollars) and that the tools they use are disinfected. There’s a great wide variety of nail polish colors and brands to choose from. The leather massage chairs are amazing, and all the nail technicians make sure that you’re comfortable. The nail technicians also pay great attention to your nails. But I think what really makes a difference is if you request the same nail technician for each visit because they tend to pay even more attention to your nails.

A little spendy at $ 30 for shellac, but over 80 colours to choose from! Opi now carries shellac.
