Interstate Lanes

This place deserves 3 stars because:
The bowling at 10pm was $ 10 a person unlimited and Cosmo.
Free pool.
The beer is cheap.
Trevor at the front is an ASSHOLE.
The young boys working the floor cleaning are ASSHOLES.
I could go into major detail how rude the people were but I won’t. This place is good for cheap fun. That’s it. Don’t expect too much!

Your standard bowling ally. This one is slightly on the larger side just because of the way it’s split. The have about 25 lanes on each side. Food is normal bowling ally food. Nothing too great. Pizza, beer, hot dogs. But they’ve got beer!(;
The service here is alright. The gal helping us seemed put out on having to leave the bar to go make food in the kitchen which was currently closed and you have to order from the bar I believe just on Sunday or maybe just Sunday nights? Either way, you could hear the relief in her voice when we said all we wanted was a drink. So I guess it’s just a job for them. The other guy ringing up games and shoes ignored me the second time I came around to buy some more games and he continued to finish some kind of paper work which would of been fine for him to finish if he would of at least acknowledged the customer.
All in all, just an OK place to go bowl. Cheap games on Sunday at $ 2 per person.
Lanes seems a little oily.

Actually shouldn’t even be one star! My friends and I were cheated on a game, which there was a error in the middle of a game, and they just skipped it without refunding the money. Plus, the bartender provided terrible service.

DON’T DO IT!!! Our family does a monthly bowl where a minimum of ten of us go bowling and do at least three games each. Well AMF bowling lanes closed, which is where we usually go, so this was our first time here in awhile. I’m reminded of why we don’t come here… aside from the dingy environment, falling roof, and non-​returning bowling balls, we were stopped on the 7^th frame of our third game and were accused of not paying for it. After showing receipts, the cashier continued to argue with us. Needless to say, after paying an extra $ 3.75 to complete the remaining three frames, WE WON’T BE BACK!!!

The 70s era decoration and feel to this place is very nostalgic and calming. It’s rarely busy and always pretty cheap, with a food stand and a bar in the back. I absolutely love how this place seems to have just been forgotten by time, BUT…
THE PROBLEM WITH THIS PLACE, or should I say the PERSON wrong with this place is…
The bald manager guy behind the register is by FAR the rudest, most disrespectful, unpleasant employee I’ve ever met at ANY establishment.
To the bald asshole:
QUIT YOUR JOB, it’s making you an even worse person than your inbred parents could have ever imagined. But in all seriousness, learn how to treat your (over)paying customers with at least an ounce of dignity and respect. After all they ARE the people paying your salary, why not have an attitude that makes them want to give you money???

I just left Interstate Lanes because the clerk just threw my money at me. Ive heard he is just an a-​hole but its the 4^th time he has been an a-​hole to me to the point its feeling racially motivated. I love to bowl but i will never spend my money here again.

This is an awesome working class not fake hood bowling alley that is true diversity and… a bar!

Wanna bowl tonight? Look no further than Interstate Lanes! A bunch of friends and I were in the mood to show off our (non-​existing) bowling skills on a Saturday evening. We were pretty much over just going to bars and sitting around.
We came here at 9 pm, but they hadn’t finished setting up for Cosmic Bowling from 10 pm — 12 am. The employee was kind enough to let our group come in to pay and hang out at their mini pool hall until 10 pm. Just a $ 10 cover gets you unlimited cosmic bowling and your shoe rental! That’s the sweetest deal on the planet! In the meantime, we ordered a pitcher of PBR and played some games of pool.
The lighting grew dimmer and we knew it was 10 o’clock when the place went dark and anything white turned bright. Our large group was split into two lanes and we were all able to play about four games! They do cut you off right at midnight so even if you just have one more round to go, they won’t let you finish up. I get it though, the employees want to have a Saturday night too.
I’ll be coming back for sure. All of those fun times for what would’ve been one drink at a swanky bar downtown! Sold anytime.

This place would be great if not for that A-​hole bald guy that’s a super dick to everyone. Don’t try to request any lanes because that’s just far too inconvenient and asking to be put on a waiting list for the next open lane while waiting at the bar is just apparently too much for that guy.

Talk about a let down. What kind of bowling alley closes down for an hour to «prepare» for cosmic bowling? If i walk in at 8 on a friday night and am told i can only play one game then there is a serious flaw in your business model. You dont need an hour to turn on your black lights. Just let us bowl.
Ill be boycotting this establishment.

Sadly the management and staff are lacking. I called 5 days before an event I was planning and asked if I could reserve 5 or 6 bowling lanes and I was told matter-​a-​factly, there are no reserved bowling lanes on Sundays (it’s the discount day, so I understood).
So I figured there’s around 28 – 30 lanes we’ll be alright… so I round up 32 people (who will buy lots of bowling, beer & pizza) and we arrive to find only 10 lanes are open and the rest of the bowling alley is RESERVED for a special group because the manager okayed it. And the man working was unhelpful, weird, and needs to get out of customer service. We stayed (spent money), eventually got to play and had a good time! However… Here’s the feedback I got from my group. Hey let’s do this again, But NOT at Interstate Lanes.
It’s too bad because I love the look and feel of being at Interstate Lanes, but the management and staff suck. And you probably lost 30 customers who would come again. The irony is the group didn’t use all the lanes and there were 5 or 6 open all night.

Don’t even waste your time. I love to bowl but the staff here is so strange, unhelpful, and sometimes rude its not even worth wasting my time. They have assenine rules that are a bother to everyone, they’re unfriendly, and tell you they’re open when they are closed and vice versa. I used to love this place but I can’t even stand going there. I used to think it was sad it was going to turn into an apartment building but as many times as I have been disappointed with this place, I can see why they can’t make it.

Interstate Lanes is an old school, no frills, dive bowling alley. Really the way bowling alleys should be. I can imagine this place being filled with stagnant cigarette smoke not too long ago. Interstate Lanes is as fancy as a bowling alley needs to be, by that I mean it automatically calculates your score. Have you ever tried to manually score a bowling game? It is no easy feat, especially after your third pitcher. The PBR pitchers are a great deal at $ 6.25 for a full 60oz pitcher.
To be fair I’ve never been on a regular day, I’ve only gone for their «cosmic» bowling. I use cosmic very loosely because other than a couple black lights and some top 40 jamz. it’s not very cosmic. But at $ 10 (includes shoes) for two hours of all you can bowl, it’s a great deal. Luckily I’ve never had an issue getting a lane.
The only thing I can complain about is their kitchen. They really need to get a deep fryer. Baked tater tots are just not the same.

This place Sa Sa SUCKS! Website advertising major cosmic bowling the whole show and presentation is mediocre and not exist! The way they do business with having bowling for 2 hours and then shutting everything down making everyone leaves doesn’t matter if you ordered and beer and food but now you’ve got to leave, is crazy! Right in the middle of your party who does business like that?!? The pizza was good but it sucks if your pizza comes right before they’re going to shut things down and then you’ve ordered beer and you can’t even enjoy it! I would never come back to this place again and I don’t recommend anyone else does! When I question them about a refund for the short amount of bowling time that we had they had a week is excuses it up no call someone on Monday! Just say NO to Interstate Bowling! Not worth the money time or energy there are plenty other bowling alleys they would appreciate your business!

A great spot to bowl with good prices and a great staff. Went on Halloween night and everyone was so friendly, I love the atmosphere and the low key feel to it.
The beer is cheap and cold and the music is great.

Interstate Lanes is a great bowling alley! The staff here are super nice and more helpful than one would expect at a dive alley. My husband and I have typically come here for cosmic bowling on Friday and Saturday nights. It’s a great deal really; $ 10 for all you can bowl from 10 pm to midnight. They also have dollar games on Tuesdays.
I have never tried the food here, but from what I can tell it looks like the typical unhealthy bowling alley selections. Drinks from the bar are priced fairly low and they have at least one hard cider on hand.
The only reason I gave this place four stars is because the lanes are shorter in length. It took us a bit to figure this out. If you are used to bowling on a regulation length alley and then come here it’s a little strange feeling. I do like that my score is typically higher because of this.

$ 10 and we bowled for 2 hours. Not bad. Got a couple turkeys in there. Beer wasn’t all that cheap (except for pitchers) but what can you expect from a bowling alley. The score screens are old as hell, but honestly i don’t mind that one bit. They’re charming. Modern bowling alley score screens are full of stupid graphics and filler. what they have here is straight to the point. I like it.
The selection of bowling balls was a bit of a pain. As a guy with big fingers, there were very few balls that i could actually use. I also had to settle with 15 lb balls and up. Kind of a pain in the arm when you plan on bowling for 2 hours. But whatever.

I really like Interstate Lanes for what it is… old fashioned, out-​dated, cheap bowling.
Their system is a few decades behind the current technology. Sometimes the pin setters don’t clear the fallen pins after your first roll. The lanes are too oiled.
BUT the pricing on games is cheap. Pitchers of PBR for $ 6.75 can’t be beat. And every time I try to go to a different alley and find out their lanes are full, Interstate Lanes has open lanes. So while they are hardly ever our first choice, they never let us down!

I wanted to be the lone Unilocaler… defending this place to the end. Telling all you folks that you just don’t appreciate (or remember) the old days — when all bowling alleys were like this. But no matter how much I teeter, I can’t go beyond a 2 stars. Don’t get me wrong, we had a good time, and I will be back — but only because it’s incredibly convenient for me.
We had to talk my friend into coming back here — with her kids no less. We promised we’d have her back and wouldn’t let anything bad happen. And before 9, the skeeve factor isn’t huge and it mostly concentrated in the pool table area. I planned an outing which ended up being 4 kids and 6 adults. I was there at 6pm on a Saturday only to find out, you can’t bowl until Cosmic Bowling starts at 7. That’s when they clean the lanes. NOWHERE on the website is this fact made known. And at 6pm, we got the last 3 lanes. So it cannot be said enough — MAKE A RESERVATION! One of the things they do while «cleaning the lanes» is put away balls by picking them up and rolling them over to the general ball area. This is dangerous and loud at times. A running kid would easily get whacked by a ball.
At 6:20 or so when another friend arrived, they wouldnt take her order because they were finishing up a catering order or some such nonsense. How convenient for her and her kids to have to wait til 7. Tried foolishly to win something with the claw machine — but no one ever does. They also have a candy machine (where you’re gauranteed to win), and some video games which is cool for the kids. Also 4 pool table in «the pit». With an hour to kill, we utilized all the distractions.
$ 10 for 2 hours of pool including shoes is a super deal. Cosmic Bowling isnt very cosmic. There’s some cool lights, but mostly it’s just dark. There’s no ongoing lights that do cool stuff — just lots of clothes glowing in the dark, They have updated the machines, but not completely. They are not user-​friendly and we had to have ours reset. It’s like old-​fashined bowling only you dont need to know how to keep score and dont need pencils.
I understand the food was ok. The tiny bar in back is divy, but cute. Just walked in for a second. The chairs/​tables at the lanes are incredibly wierd and uncomfortable. You can fit no more than 4 people, and you can barely figure out how to sit in them or move them — even though they are swivelly. There’s a decent amount of parking in back and on the side.
So — while I had fun, this place is really quite lame in so many ways. And while I will return here, I will wish that they get their act and their website together.

Bowling alleys are supposed to be pretty scuzzy, but this one toes the wrong side of that line. It goes a little past that comfortable worn in time capsule feel, and starts treading into «is the ceiling going to collapse on me?» territory. I’ll totally be back, because hey, the lanes were nice and the pinsetters worked flawlessly, and I can’t say no to the old CRT scoring computers.
I think this place could be amazing with a little bit of polish though. Don’t rip out and renovate, just replace the rotted wood panels and stained ceiling tiles, keep the character, and make this funky mid-​century building shine.
