Overall was very condescending when discussing the cars price over email. Maybe i took the tone out of context.
But basically his listed price is non negotiable but I did not find anything stating that. So like every informed consumer I looked up KBB and nada value for the car he was selling and gave him an offer of $ 1000.00 over the value. Instead he dragged on the conversation email after email until he rudely stated he does not negotiate on price. Waste of time. Thanks but no thanks.
So I’ll take my business elsewhere it’s just a car.

Jose was having a bad day. but cursing isn’t the answer

In my work, having a reliable car is critically important.
My «old faithful» Honda had never let me down, but it was certainly getting to the age where I was concerned.
But, the thought of shopping Craig’s List made me shutter. Shopping dealer-​to-​dealer looking for a newer car that meets my needs made me cringe
Then, I was introduced to José. He’s a local fella, I learned; graduated from Portland’s Central Catholic after going on with his education. I explained my needs to José.
He took me to see a couple of cars that were almost right; but we agreed those weren’t the car for me. He looked and looked, until he found the «just right» car for my needs — and importantly — my budget.
About the deal:
Everything was «up front». I knew exactly what my car would cost, including plates and title. José picked me up and drove me to the dealer where just he and I went on a test drive. After signing the paperwork, I drove off the lot with my new-​to-​me Honda — about an hour later.
Yes, a complete car deal in AN HOUR!
Think of it!
No being waltzed around car lots. No «clothing booths». No «talking to the manager» about my deal. No «finance officer» drama. No «ups and extras» pitched.
It was a clean, smooth deal. I can’t understand why anyone would go through the hassle of buying or selling a car or truck these days. Instead, just call José!

Not helpful. Found him a bit condescending as well. I was able to locate the same cars for less online. I didn’t feel that he put himself out to negotiate a good price.
