Had Justin come out and do several things around the house including painting, staining the deck and pressure washing. He was prompt and the work was done on time and on budget. I would highly recommend him for work.

Called Justin for a quote, He shows up the next day. Measures, takes pictures and has a bid in for my job with in two hours. He was incredibly communicative and easy going.
He painted a very large room with 13 foot ceilings for me in a day and a half and charged me what I consider to be an incredibly reasonable price. He was clean and professional and because of his work ethic and demeanor I hired him again to paint my house. I really do recommend Justin for painting services. He a good painter that really cares about doing a good job and I am totally satisfied with the work he had done for me.

I’d put 0 stars if I could. Just spoke to Justin on the phone trying to get an idea of how much painting the interior of my home might be. I simply asked him what does it typically cost to roll on/​brush paint the walls and he said he’s never been asked that before. So I said, do you charge a square foot cost or how do you charge for the painting. And he got real snippy and said he’s not interested in doing this work for me. I have NO idea why he couldn’t give an answer to that, even a range of cost or simply say that he can’t make that determination until he sees the space. I was simply trying to get an idea of what that night cost. Maybe he’s having a bad day, but I would never recommend even trying to communicate with this painting company. Completely unprofessional.

Justin was communicative and easy to reach via text or telephone. He was clear with the estimate and responsive to changes. He stained the outside of our cedar siding house. I would use him again.

We needed our house painted quickly which meant receiving a timely quote because of the close upcoming Oregon rainy winter. Justin’s immediate communications with us was patronizing and condescending and was in no way considerate of our time constraints. He said we were a red flag because of our «rushed» ways. HUH?! Because of Oregon rainy season?
Justin refused to simply come to our house and provide a quote either by email for fax, but rather, demanded either my wife or I take time from our extremely busy schedules to simply get a quote. He either completely ignored specifics and info we provided regarding our home, but was quick with discourtesy and lack of any professionalism when he spoke with us via email.
In the end we told Justin we were glad we discovered his true nature, interactions with customers and his poor way of doing business early on and that we would not be hiring him. In a final, bizarre email he sent us — he laid out a veiled threat, claiming we both had each other’s contact info — meaning he had our home address. All we have is his email — he actually knows where we live! Who do you think should feel more threatened? We do!
I’m sure he’s busy enough to get good reviews, might even do some good work now and then, but we can relate more with the bad reviews (not just Unilocal) and we didn’t even get to the point of hiring the guy. Thank God!

Interior paint job. Everything was done just the way we asked, and with great quality. I got multiple bids and Justin Berlin Painting was a great value. I liked that Justin was in frequent communication about the details of the project. Highly recommended.

I’ve had two separate interior painting jobs handled by Justin in the past year and have been very happy with both. He talks through the details in advance and writes up a line item work order which is very helpful. He was very careful to keep things clean and tidy, even in the middle of the job. The second job required some trim install and modifications that ended up looking amazing.

Justin cleaned, painted, and stained every exterior part of our home including the siding, front porch, rear deck, front door, and cast metal light fixtures. I supplied the paint and he took no money upfront for labor. He works hard doing 90% of the work himself. I prefer this to a bigger company where you pay for salespeople and other overhead and get a random crew. 2 – 3 years later it still looks good. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Justin started out as a professional. He contacted me in a short amount of time, came and looked at my project and got me a bid. But the quality of his work is terrible. Here were just a few of the issues:
‘ On the contract I said I wanted Sherwin William Paint. He bought Miller exclusively
‘ I paid him ¾ of the full contract price, and he left the job before he was halfway done
‘ Very sloppy painter. He painted my natural wood baseboards, which was not supposed to happen and not on the contract
He painted the outside of the cupboards, but decided it was too much work to cover the inside with paper after he did some, so now some are primed on the inside and others are not
‘ He took all the cupboard off to spray them in my garage. He got overspray on the three ladders he used at my house, and when he rehung the cupboards, and all but three hang crooked. He did nothing to correct that
‘ He left a pile of bricks in my yard, cinder blocks, and paint cans. Just left them all in the front yard
‘ He didn’t «feel well» pretty much every day, and then he became very dramatic about the fact that I didn’t have a paint color chosen yet.
‘ I repainted the walls when he left. 1) he didn’t put enough coats on to evenly cover them and 2) the I got a little spray cleaner on the paint when I was wiping my table down, and it stained the wall.
‘I repeatedly asked him to get me a signed copy of the contract with the handwritten notes, but he never did
‘ He put a very tall ladder in my garage without mentioning that it would be in the way from the garage opening. When my son came home and used the keypad, the garage door got caught on the ladder. I have a huge hole in my garage door now, and Justin’s ladder got bent. I have always been reasonable and kind to people who work in my house, and tried to be with Justin (as an example, paying him more upfront that he asked for), and I felt some responsibility for his ladder, but he never even talked to me about it, but left garbage and the job unfinished.. .
I could go on.. . My recommendation would be to paint your project yourself or keep looking for a good painter
