I worked downtown in the summer of 2004 and this was far and away my favorite burrito cart. They’re huge and cheap. Sorry I can’t think of much more to say since it’s been a while, but really, it’s worth checking out.

This cart has some great burritos. It stands out as one of my favorites of the tons of burrito carts downtown. The burritos are huge, like two softballs wrapped in a tortilla. My favorite burrito is the Chili Relleno Burrito. Lots of cheese in that one, sometimes it looks like a cheese pond. I did once try to get one of the platters and was not that into it. Stick with the burritos

Another taco cart, another 4-star review. You would think that I would be tired of these things by now, but oh no. The food at King Burrito is good, voluminuous, and cheap, like most of the taco carts in this town. Unlike many downtown, however, they don’t try to put lettuce in my burrito. Plus one star for that. King Burrito is located at the North end of the strip of carts lining 5th ave across from the US Bank tower. It offers the usual spate of tacos, burritos, and various mexican fare. Carnitas, asada, pollo, etc. All the fillings you could want. Plus, they offer breakfast burritos — chorizo, machaca, etc. Good selection, and all around the $ 5 range. The burritos are nice and big, and the combination of flavors is always a winner. The service is friendly, as is expected at a cart, and they are quick enough on the delivery. While I do enjoy my burritos here, I just don’t taste that ‘oomph’ that brings it up to the 5-star level. While I wouldn’t coronate this cart as the king of burritos in Portland, I do not hesitate to stop in when I want some good grubbins.
