I’ve just been once but was very impressed. Medium sized — big enough for variety and to get what you need, but now overwhelming like PSU. What particularly impressed me was the free coffee and snacks(including hard-boiled organic eggs!) they gave out at the information booth. They also seemed to have kids activities on hand, like coloring. Very thoughtful.

Come right at opening(10am) or be prepared to be overrun by yuppies(kids in tow) and hippies. This is my ‘hood and my local market(you won’t see me rolling up in Prius, I’m on foot), and I get there as they ring the bell to let you know it’s on. Overall, it’s a decent market with good variety and quality. I don’t recommend doing the bulk of your veggie shopping here, as you’ll honestly find better quality and much better prices at New Seasons, etc, but the food and product vendors are top notch. Do yourself a favor: get an Enchanted Sun Breakfast burrito(pro-tip: order like a regular, say«regular burrito, salsa inside» — you won’t be disappointed), and think twice about going if the clock at home says 11am or after.

We look forward to a trip to the market each week. The veggies are divine, from our favorite local organic farms. There’s a bread vendor, several cheese vendors, a butcher, wine, food stands, mushrooms, and lots of fruit(although sadly not organic fruit). Plus Missionary Chocolates, which is worth a visit on its own. Why go to a grocery store when we have such a treasure each Sunday in our neighborhood?!

Now, I’m not saying they should ban kids here, but once they make the Bobos leave their freaking dogs at home(a la the PSU one) they should restrict the size of stroller yuppie breeders can bring in. There’s no ATM and the musical«entertainment» is uniformly terrible. The goods are good, just as they always are at Farmer’s markets. There’s plenty of space between the rows of tents, too. If only the damn dog owning parents around here would let other people use it.

Where’s the stuff? This is a fairly puny farmers’ market. Approximately a dozen vendors were present when we visited today and it took about five minutes to peruse all of the wares. We didn’t find the blackberries we were looking for, but there were some nice artichokes and peaches. My wife usually loads me down like a pack mule whenever we go to a farmers’ market. We only had one little bag from this one – heck, she even carried to the car herself! Not the best farmers’ market in this burg.

Before we had a market in St Johns, this was my fail safe. They always have great stuff and it is excellent people watching.

This market is small and simple. You can get bread, meat, seafoods, flowers, produce, cheeses, honey, jams, pickled things, coffee, even wine. Prices are pretty darn reasonable for most things. There is live music, a crêpe stand, other foods to eat on the spot, and if you’re lucky you can lay on a nearby hill and watch a kickball game. Highlight: biggest radishes I’ve ever seen here. Super fresh, spcicy, and yummy.

This market is so close to my house, so I’ve been a regular every week since it opened on May 1st. There is a good selection of booths, including my personal favorite: Missionary Chocolates(vegan chocolate!). The live music is always enjoyable to listen to while you’re standing in line to purchase goods.

Like others have said, the King farmer’s market is small, but has pretty much everything I want to buy. Which is wonderful, because the Saturday FM downtown can be a little overwhelming. Also I am lazy and this is a short walk from home. Beautiful produce, farm fresh eggs, Missionary chocolates, baked goods, cheese, breakfast burritos. Would really appreciate a better coffee vendor, but I live with one, so regardless of that, I love having this market in my neighborhood!

Small, sort of no-frills as farmers’ markets go, but has a little bit of everything at a reasonable price! Fruit and veggie vendors, grass fed meats, amazing pickles, jams, cheeses, eggs, etc. Special shout out to the delicious breakfast burrito stand with the really friendly staff. This market, and I gather some of the others, has a cool program where if you use your Oregon Trail card(Oregon’s food stamps), they give you up to $ 5 in free spending $. It’s meant to make farm-direct food more accessible to lower-income residents in the area. Having never seen this elsewhere, I was impressed. Also worth noting– some of the vendors(esp meats) take credit cards directly. But for those who don’t, you can use your credit or debit card to buy as many ‘tokens’ as you want, which spend like cash. There is a small fee, I believe $ 2, for doing this, totally worth the convenience.

While it gets its name from the school parking lot it occupies, I can testify that this market really is the King of Portland Farmer’s Markets. It is large enough to offer pretty much everything you are going to get at any other market in town, but small enough to keep the crowds away. While I am not 100% positive, it seems you can still bring your pets here(not that anyone seems to obey that no pets rule at PSU anyway). As aforementioned it has a very«neighborhoodie» vibe and many of the people I have seen there do seem to have walked. This gives ample space for parking to any of those og you, like myself, that do not live walking distance from this market. Also, it is open on Sundays which is really why I happened upon it in the first place. I can’t always get out to do the produce getting thing on Saturdays.

This review isn’t really about the market … the market seemed lovely enough but it was raining and thus uncrowded … this is really about Unbound Pickling– yum, yum, and then yum some more: Truly lovely pickled goods … especially the beets and pickles. I am going to be better prepared next trip and really stock up.

Bike friendliest farmer’s market in town. Sometimes, there is even a guy who repairs bikes. Fresh veggies, not too crowded. TAMALES. Crepes. Sol Pops. Ruby Jewels. Random Order baked goods. The best part is that it really isn’t too crowded. The other farmer’s markets can be too overwhelming. Also, it seems like the same people go every week. Its very neighborhoodie. I love it. I don’t know what I will do when it stops on October 25th.
