Kosher Eric Fertilizer

I picked Eric for the Unilocal reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. My call was returned promptly, delivery was fast, the product was good. Next time I need soil, I know who to call.

I called Eric, and he was able to deliver the next day. In the past, I’ve driven out to another place to get a truckload of compost at a time. Eric’s price was the same as their delivery price, but the soil … wow! It’s beautiful, rich and dark and crumbly. A bunch of it has been sitting under a tarp in my driveway for a couple of months now (ahem) and it’s still weed free and full of worms. I want to keep my worms happy, so I’ll definitely be ordering from Eric again.

When other companies wouldn’t deliver to North Portland or were charging almost $ 200 for delivery, I contacted Eric and he provided not only a great soil/​sand/​compost mix, but friendly service and a $ 100 savings to boot — with a smile. We’ll defintely reorder from Eric Kosher Fertilizer.

This company was highly recommended by a local nursery, and they were right.
I called Eric, and he was able to schedule a delivery for the next day. He dumped the soil mix exactly where i wanted it, even double-​checking and triple-​checking with me because it would block part of the driveway.
And when the weather turned wet again and i had to leave my pile of dirt sitting there for two weeks before i could resume my project, not a single weed had sprouted. It’s actually pretty impressive, as a neighbor of ours got a dirt shipment a day or two after ours, and theirs is a green mountain of weeds right now. Ours is black. When the nursery told me that his soil would be seedless, they were right.
So, yeah, i highly recommend this guy and this company. There’s a fixed delivery charge of about $ 100, and then each cubic yard (minimum two) costs something like $ 20 (this is all from my poor memory, so it’s not in any way accurate down to the dollar). It’s great if you need tons of soil, and if you only need a few yards it’s still a better deal than renting a truck and having to shovel it all out of the back yourself.
You can get composted manure, top soil, sand, or a combination of all three (called Soil Mix).

If you are looking for really good quality amendments for your soil this is the place. Eric is prompt and his soil is a nice combination of nutrient rich soil with sand amendments that are great for soils like mine and many in Portland that are heavy with clay and drain poorly. The prices are really fair and he’s a really nice guy.
