I first chose Dr. Widing because of her age. Frankly, I had just gotten sick of awkward young doctors fumbling around in an area where you REALLY don’t want fumbling. My choice was right on. Dr. Widing has clearly done what she does a million times. No fumbling.(I wish someone would tell new gynos that the more you hem and haw and narrate every move you make, the more it raises the patient’s anxiety level and their discomfort). Anyway, on top of being an old pro, Dr. Widing seems like a very knowledgeable doctor. Every health-related topic you discuss with her, she seems to have attended a conference about it. The only reason I am not giving her 5 stars is because of the location and condition of her office. It’s a dingy office in a dingy office park, and it is decorated sort of like your grandma’s place.

I really like Dr. Widing, she is low key and very knowledgeable. I am writing this review because I’m just about to make another appointment. I took my daughter to her, and will take the next one to her, too. Her office is not intimidating and I think she only has one nurse. I like that, because you are not just a number to be called. Personal attention and care. I like her. I am sorry for the reviewer who had the test mix up– I totally see how that could mess up your experience, and once that is done, you don’t feel comfortable. For me and my daughter, Dr. Widing is great! I don’t want to go to anyone else.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Widing since I was in my early 20s(I’m 35 now). She’s such a wonderful doctor that I sometimes wish I could visit her for all of my health-related needs, even mental health! (Especially mental health: Dr. Widing can be very astute during those casual patient-doctor conversations that go on during appointments. Last year she very unobtrusively suggested I look into a book, and reading that book ended up giving me the resolve to make an important change in my life, which has made me like 20 times happier.) She cares about her patients and remembers details about their lives and their health history. She is always super prompt in following up on lab results(usually within a few business days), and also calls back promptly if I just have a question or concern. In the 10+ years I’ve been seeing Dr. Widing, I have never had a testing– or insurance-related mix up, so Sarah R.‘s experience(while unfortunate) was mostly likely an anomaly. In fact, that’s one of the reasons I have stayed with Dr. Widing; I know that she’s conscientious enough to code items she submits to my insurance company appropriately so I DON’T get any surprise bills. There are a lot of doctors out there who won’t even answer billing or insurance questions once you’re in their office for your appointment.

her bedside manner is great. however, when i specifically asked that certain testing not be done, she had said okay. then i got the bill for the testing i didn’t want to have done in the first place. i asked her to help me out with the billing company and tell them this was all a big mistake. so she said she would pay for my bill with her own debit card. a year later i got a bill from collections… how i was never notified of any other inactivity on my account is beyond me, but being lied to about something like this is unacceptable. i had seen this doctor twice, and the first time had no problem with her, but this is something that has ruined the appointments for me.
