Definitely a local neighborhood dive restaurant/bar, but the food was good(we ordered chicken wings, potstickers, orange chicken, beef and green beans, and house fried rice), and the staff were very friendly and nice.

I was a little hesitant to come because some of the reviews said it was pricey, but I got the sesame chicken for $ 9.95 and for the amount of food I’m perfectly happy with the price. Plus they have nice happy hour menu. We got spring rolls for $ 1.50. The inside doesn’t look like your typical Chinese restaurant. It looks more like a local bar, but it’s comfortable inside. I’ll definitely be back for the happy hour.

Food was great, 4 stars because it was a bit spendier than I would have liked. I will eat here again. Ordered general tso’s, pork fried rice, pot stickers, and BBQ pork. The BBQ pork was great. Like best ever great. Pot stickers were ok. But nothing special. General Tso’s was superb. Pork fried rice was wonderful. Over priced, but pretty good. We had take out. Want to try on house next time.

Minus the karaōke DJ aiming his Peavy speaker directly at the bar and not checking his levels — which is why I’m guessing I’m currently deaf — the place is a pretty solid dive.

The food here is decent, a little bit overpriced though. I had the $ 9.95 chicken and broccoli. The quality was alright, chicken was not fatty like it sometimes can be, but broccoli was on the cheaper side, some stalks were white instead of green. We had some crab puffs as well, they were okay but did not have much filling to them. I ordered the drink special, which was $ 7 for a blueberry moonshine and soda. I have to admit it was one of the worst drinks I’ve ever ordered. I couldn’t finish it. I would avoid the mixed drinks here. I might try this place for take out instead, because the food was pretty good.

The food is amazing and the atmosphere is way cool, but the service can be really slow.

They charge you for a to go box. I have never had such an experience. I usually tip for to-go orders but not when you charge me $ 2.00 or whatever it was for a to-go order. Food is good if you eat it in the restaurant.

Tried this place for the first time. Great service by Terra. She didn’t even write down our order(and there was 6 of us) and the food came out correct and delicious. Will definitely be back.

Food is stellar. Best Chinese I’ve had in Portland. Drinks were also good. Service was a little lacking. The lady didn’t write down our orders so a few things got messed up. Great food though!

This place is great. I’ve only ordered for pickup, but the restaurant/bar looks like it’s probably a great place to enjoy a drink and a game, if you’re into that, and the food is pretty fantastic. I will echo the sentiments expressed about how delightful the pork fried rice is(and I’m traditionally not a fried rice lover), and can also heartily recommend the Mongolian beef and the second best General Tsao’s chicken I’ve ever had. First place goes to a little hole in the wall joint called Azia, in Pullman, WA, which is well worth checking out, if you’re in the area. Will definitely eat here again. There’s a lot on this menu I’m looking forward to trying.

Diner the other night ordered deluxe mixed vegetables and my firend ordered garlic chicken. The vegetables were cooked just right.(not over cooked) the sauce was fine not outstanding but not bad. The portion is on the small side the price $ 8.95.and only give you a small cup of rice.(no extra charge) my firend asked for white meat in his garlic chicken, which they charge $ 2 for. He said the sauce was good but he was also surprised at the small portion. He also said the chicken tasted like rubber. Not sure how much he paid. But he said he would never go their again. Me i could see myself going their if their was no other choice or if i were in the area. The + nice relaxed atmosphete, good place for a drink, watch tv, play snooker or slots. But the food is just ok for me.

I love this place!(My profile pic is me singing karaōke here) and the food hits the spot. Maybe it’s because I’m usually drinking while eating here… Hello… booze… Chinese… Karaōke… This all equals a great friday night. I lived on Burnside… and it hurts my heart to hear that Chopsticks is closing. this makes a good runner up to chopsticks! I usually get one of the combo plates and the crab puffs! Yum Yums in the Tum Tums.

The pork fried rice is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Big chunks of tender pork that is perfectly caramelized on the outside. It really is fantastic. And all the other dishes; Kung pow, sesame chicken, orange chicken… all fantastic. So, I hadn’t eaten Chinese in probably nine or ten years. Been eating Thai, Japanese, and Vietnamese for a long time. Went here because it was up the street when I was moving into a house. I was very pleasantly surprised. I’ve probably eaten here 30 or so times and only once was it not fantastic. The food is all great and it’s a decent place to hang out and drink. I’ve tried other Chinese places and they all pale in comparison.

If you are looking for a good cocktail… go somewhere else! Ordered an old fashioned and got something like a soda, for $ 9. Tried to talk to the server about it, but she insisted she was right. The food seemed liked it was costo appetizers. This place is an old school dive, but with new school prices. Don’t waste your money.

Went into this place on a whim based solely on how looks from the outside and I loved it! The food was great with really good prices as well. The atmosphere was perfect, the best music selection I’ve ever heard from a bar in all my years and the service is quick and friendly. The drinks weren’t as heavy as I would’ve liked but I’m also used to going to my neighborhood bar where they’re quite generous with the pour. If you want a few beers, some good Chinese and a great setting I definitely suggest this place. Also, there’s bike parking and a cute little covered patio

The food is good, especially if you are looking for a vegetarian version of what you would expect from typical American/Chinese food. They do veggie really well. It was flavorful as well they have tofu versions of typical chicken dishes. The General Tso’s Tofu was tasty and the dry sautéed beans had a nice flavor even though they weren’t really dry. But a container charge for to-go orders? We sat at the bar and had a beer while we waited, only to get the bill and see $ 1.00 container fee for our two entrées. We had no idea we would be charged so asked what it was for, if they were maybe encouraging people to bring their own containers. We received a seemingly uncertain explanation of it being a kitchen tip. Huh? This made no sense to us. It was the second time I’d been to Lucky House for carryout and I don’t recall this fee the first time. There is a chance I paid it unknowingly the first time considering I never saw it posted on the menu, or the wall, and we weren’t told about it ahead of time. If there is anything I hate it’s hidden(and ridiculous) fees. I won’t be back to Lucky House. This is too bad because the food is good and I spend a lot of time down just down the street at my good friend’s place. Fortunately 82nd isn’t far away… there are lots of Chinese options to explore out there.

This review is only based on take-out food. We come here for take out when we have a hankering for some General Tso chicken. The food is always flavorful and the the portions are pretty large. Very solid take Chinese food.
