Every Lush store I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting has been full of wonderful employees ready to help me find whatever’s on my list, and show me products I might not be familiar with yet. I support the brand’s policy against animal testing, and their fun, unexpected products.
The zeal employees have to assist customers may be off putting to some people. That’s ok. A polite decline of their help will get your message across.
I was recently in the store to pick up some of my favorite conditioner on the market, American Cream. I highly suggest picking up some, it’ll change your life.
I also wanted to try some face moisturizers. Lou was highly accommodating in helping me find the best moisturizer for my skin type. Because the product was on the pricey-​er side, she offered me a sample so I could test it out over the week.
If the high quality, miracle working products weren’t enough, the Lush experience is really made by the employees. Thank you Lou, and thank you Lush for keeping me looking spiffy.

I was wandering down 23^rd one day and decided to go into Lush. I quickly learned that this is NOT the store you go to when you want to browse on your own. Like other posters have said, the sales associates are very pushy when you’re in the store. I know that they have to greet you when you walk in and list off the promotions, but not leaving me alone when I ask puts a bad taste in my mouth After I had to tell them three times that I was just looking around, I gave up and let them drag me through the store.
However, I do have to say that the Ocean Salt Spray is amazing, and worth every cent! The bath bombs are also the perfect way to end a long day. I don’t mind paying their prices since the products are organic, environmentally friendly, and they give their employees living wages. Now I always go back to restock when it’s super busy, and make a beeline to the things I need and then get out quickly.

I have been to all 3 Portland area Lush stores and the one on NW 23^rd is my favorite one. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I always come out with awesome products. My favorite product is must definitely the Dirty Springwash body wash. It’s so yummy. The bathbombs… all they are always amazing after a long days works.

Beware of holiday box set. I bought on for my mother for Christmas a gave it to her today. It was missing items that were supposed to be included per the tag and the ones that were in there were broken up and looked like the bottom of the barrel for quality. I bought three others for gift and will be returning them after being embarrassed of the quality of the first one as I watched my mom unpack it. Some up the items were no bigger size than the samples the give for free. I suspect the good quality item go on display and the reject go into the «gift boxes». Not what I expect for a $ 60 gift set.

Tonight when I went into the NW 23^rd lush location, I didn’t really have high expectations. I went in for a few bath bombs to make my evening bath more enjoyable and figured I could go in and look around. The store was quite busy but upon walking in, I was quickly greeted by a lovely saleswoman. Immediately she asked me what I was looking for and noticing my 6 month pregnant belly, offered me a chair to sit down. There she brought me tons of different products that she thought I might like and showed me exactly how they worked and the benefits of the products, all while explaining what they were made from. She didn’t pressure me whatsoever to make a purchase, although I couldn’t resist after she had shown me so many amazing products!!! Pleased is an understatement of how I felt with her customer service and the way she took the time to show me around the store and answer any and every question I had about each product. I left with bath bombs, an exfoliant, a moisturizing lotion bar, a rose smelling bubble bar, a sample of some nice shower cream, and a FREE bath bear bomb with a sweet note. With all that being said, Lush has won me over and I WILL BE BACK!

I’ve this lush! They are always so nice and helpful! One day I was in 23^rd and we wanted to stop buy and they were having a delay due to computer issues and they told us to come back at 11:00 when we came back they weren’t opening to 12:00 but they were super apologetic and gave us all free bath bomb and they were super big and really nice! They went out of there way to help us

Lush, you could be great. Your products are truly wonderful. I love bath bombs most of all and have bought them in your stores in Albuquerque, Washington D.C., Doha, Bucharest, and now here in Portland. But after today I’ll never be back. No matter which city, when I walk in your store I am aggressively greeted by your staff. I get away from one hyper smiling up selling jerk and another takes his/​her place. I can’t go in and grab what I want without running the gauntlet. If I could just go in and look around I’d probably spend more money, but you won’t let me do that. If I look at something you immediately jump into my face with «YOU’RE GOING TO LOVE THIS TOO».
I’m done. I’ve had enough. I’m never going back.

Because I live in portland — and because I love things that will help me keep looking young and beautiful (lol) I LOVE LOVE LOVE LUSH. I am a Lushie.
All the girls know me by name — I spend way too much money here, and I love it.
I use a variety of the products that I will list below.
Face: brazened honey mask and the camomile bar
Hair: American cream for a conditioner and the cinnamon bar or big shampoo
Lotion: charity pot (save the Sharks)

Their bath bombs are fabulous. However, the rest of the products are not my favorite. The workers are somewhat helpful on a slow day. On a busy day however, you may not get anything really. It’s really overall lackluster service, which makes the experience not as great. One positive besides the bath bombs is the location of the store. Right in the same vicinity of Salt and Straw and Papa Haydn’s.

When me and my mom come into Portland, we always make a trip to this store. My mom is a fan of the powdered body shimmer, the bath bombs, and the massage bars. I enjoy the face masks! I currently have been using the BB Seaweed mask and when left in the refrigerator, and placed on my face… the cooling sensation tingles my face. Made with seaweed, honey, and rose creates a relaxing state for me! If you are a teenager like me with skin that easily reacts to perfumes, I would recommend this face product.
Did I mention there is a chocolate face mask? It smells pretty divine too.

Portland, OR: I’ve been to several Lush stores over the past couple years but it was my parents’ first time in the store the other day. The customer service at this location far exceeded any Lush store I’ve ever been to. Mom (and dad!) tried several products and were in the store for at least forty minutes. The employees patiently answered all of their questions, made them samples, and introduced them to the best products for their various needs. We left with a couple products, numerous samples, and warm fuzzies from the best customer service ever.

Everyone in this store in phenomenal. I come here often, as this is my go to skincare line, and I’m always consistently blown away by their customer service.
As a vegan, the options for products is insane. I believe the store is 70−80% vegan friendly, and considering that they always let you sample, it’s awesome to know what I should be buying.
I’ve never really understood why people think that this shop is overpriced, considering my products last me 6 – 8 months so if that is the reason you’ve been avoiding Lush, get in there and give it a shot!

THE HAPPIEST STORE I THINK I HAVE EVER BEEN IN EMPLOYEE WISE! Stephanie helped me and my Sweetness. When asked about their making commission on sales she replied no, but she did comment on the company taking good care of the employees. And it shows. They were having a good time in this joint all the while taking care of customers. Stephanie also talked about herself and her teammates being just that, a team and having a friendly competitive stance, all with the goal of being productive as a group. From what I heard, they were all well versed on the products, which was really helpful. We originally went here for Kimberly to find shampoo/​conditioner for her hair. We got a few samples and ended up purchasing some skin care products. Got the Raining Men Shower Gel and Dark Angel Scrub (Sampled this and could tell a difference instantly). By this time next week, my skin will be so smooth, my clothes will be sliding right off of me Keep It Up!

Awesome. Extraordinarily great customer service. Happy vibe in the store. Loved it. Got some samples and bought some stuff. Excited to find this store. Props to Stephanie. She spent a lot of time with us and knows the products very well. She showed enthusiasm and expressed a love for Lush Company and her fellow coworkers. All employees on duty were in high spirits and had smiles on their faces. Honestly, the atmosphere made me want to hangout And buy stuff! Best best best customer service and ambiance I have experienced in a beauty product store. So when Stephanie said that Lush treats their employees very well and has high ethical standards, I believe her.
The only negative things are that a lot of the products have almond oil and I’m allergic to a lot of different nuts and some fruits. Also, some things are expensive.
POSITIVE AGAIN: Stephanie took it upon herself to read labels and then recommend the best products for me and for my boyfriend. She gave samples and had us test different items. She was kind, patient, and very sweet. The girl at the cash register was very great also. I didn’t catch her name unfortunately.

This place is a hands on experience and they really want to show you all their fun products. Some people take their helpfulness as them being pushy, but I think they are there to work and interact with the customers to educate them about their products.
If you’re in the area, pop by and get yourself and someone else a treat. I like getting birthday gifts and bachelorette party gifts here.

Such a fun experience. Kenny was Amazing. It was first time in a lush store and they hooked it up with samples. I bought a mask of magnanimity, ocean sea Salt scrub, and a bath bomb. They don’t work off of commission, they just genuinely want to help you. Definitely will be returning!

All of the seasonal stuff is in! So many gift packages to choose from. I have never seen so many in all the years I’ve been a lush shopper. The staff was knowledgeable and super friendly. They gave me samples to go. They know how to take care of their customers.

I’m a Lush. Yes.
While I sometimes cringe at the prices I am a huge fan of this store. I love fragrance, and Lush has it in spades. I have made a couple of my own bath products at home (bath truffles and bath bombs) I know that it’s not particularly cheap and it can be time consuming. I figure buying a few things now and then is a better way to go.
My favorite product is the sakura bath bomb, which is a cherry blossom scent that is divine! I wish they had more products with the same scent. I also love their special holiday scents and gift boxes. Perfect for your favorite bath junky. The staff can be a little too aggressive at times, but overall they’re just very enthusiastic about their products. It’s really nice that they allow you to try their products before committing to buying. They almost always send home a sample of something when I go.
If Santa is reading, please send a box of bath bombs & melts, especially the sakura! Thx!

Maybe I just have a major problem but sometimes I find I am even more enthusiastic about the products here than the staff here is. Not because they aren’t (they totally are) but because I really, really am. While there will always be some push to get that product out, I have found the current staff at 23^rd to be really authentic and the perfect blend of aloof yet helpful. They know that some people don’t want to be «served» or «bothered» but are also there to do their jobs, and do so with aplomb. It’s nice when people have passion and can get paid for that.
I tend to look online or in the catalog for the info on products and then it’s all just all checking what they look, feel and smell like in the store. I’ve been to a few other Lush shops and the saccharine oofiness got to me there with some staff members, on a level I just can’t imagine happening here. But for some of us it’s all super exciting. I have been waiting for the thrill to fade for about 8 years now. Like with any business there have been products and decisions I haven’t loved, but I have found no products that truly substitute for the Lush brand.
One thing I like is being asked at the end of my purchase whether or not I wanted to try something. Unfortunately I have so much stuff and knowledge about what I do like from already trying so much that it’s not often an offer I go for, but next time I think I’ll get some Big shampoo. The salt invigorates! On a larger level I do hate how everything gets discontinued.
Oh, and another thing to pass on:
BRING A LUSH SPA TO PORTLAND, PLEASE!

Not only did everything smell delicious, but many of the products are formed into adorable shapes that are pleasing to the eye. I bought a few bath bubble blocks in the shape of flowers and tulips for my mother-​in-​law.
The displays were all very well organized with chalkboard labels with the product name, ingredients and use. If you still had questions, there were several workers nearby that were knowledgable and more than willing to give you the information you needed to make a decision on whether the product was right for you. There were samples you could try yourself or get assistance with if you didn’t quite know how to use it.
The ingredients of the products are not tested on animals, are organic, and many are edible (most smelled good enough to eat!). If I stumble upon this store again in the future, I’m certain I will be lured into buying some more soaps and scrubs for myself and for gifts for others.
