Believe it or not, I’m someone who wasn’t really into massage. I always equated massage to the«no pain, no gain» philosophy, so I guess that’s why I wasn’t into it. I mean who really wants to hurt, right? Which is why I’m SO glad I was introduced to Layne after I was hit by a car while riding my bike. Layne’s hands helped me recover much better than just your typical massage techniques. I’m grateful to have her on my team of self-care peeps. Layne is a gifted, intuitive massage therapist. But to call her a «massage therapist» is a like calling Mother Teresa a nun. There a people who do enough to get their credentials and then just coast. And then there are those like Layne who keep expanding their knowledge so they can serve their clients best. Layne’s true love is sharing the gifts of cranial sacral therapy and myofascial release. I’m a personal trainer so I can geek out with Layne when she explains how her techniques are so much more effective than just deep tissue massage. She describes myofacial release like a tangled gold chain. If you yank and pull on it, it’s only going to make your tight muscles tighter. By working her magic she gently gets the fascia around my muscles to release. Pure bliss! You rock, Layne! Thank you.
