Meadow Springs

Oddly enough, we found Meadow Springs by reading a poor review of another church. It said «if you want authentic people, the go to Meadow Springs», so we did and that’s what we found! We were warmly greeted by the pastoral staff and other congregants sitting close to us. We felt right at home with upbeat worship music and bible-​based, applicable teachings by a variety of teaching pastors. Our kids have felt comfortable joining the children’s programs from day 1. It helps that they like to feed you! Cook outs, potlucks, ladies’ tea parties, celebrations — are all a regular occurrence. We’re now enjoying the summer BBQ clubs — families opening up their homes on a regular basis throughout the summer to host BBQs. Good food and a great way to get to know each other and our neighbors. This is our new home church!

We miss these people! Great place! The great thing about church is… It’s a place where we can make a difference. Church is not about what it can do for us. It’s about what we can do for it.

If I were a slight bit more conservative, late 30’s early 40’s, and had children then this church would get a 4 star rating. The older ladies were super friendly (and there’s a big retired + population at Meadow Springs), the worship was nice, the sermon was applicable to parents/​parenting. If you’re like me (late 20’s, unmarried, no children, career focused) then this is not the church. But to be fair, very few churches have a place for christian young professionals in their congregations. They just don’t seem to know how to hook us. Here’s to the ongoing search for a mid size liberal social justice focused clique free church with at least a few folks in their mid twenties (sans kids) in their congregation.

We visited several churches before coming back to this one to stay. What I like most is that they don’t do church just for the sake of church. They see following Jesus as an adventure to be lived.
The teaching is excellent and not driven by one dominant personality. The worship is focused on God, not the worship team’s performance. I also love that everything comes out of a strong focus on the Bible’s teachings, as opposed to popular trends and programs.
I’d recommend this community of Christ-​seekers in a heartbeat!
