This place is great! I eat here twice a month and the food is awesome, the staff is awesome, and the drinks are awesome! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the portion sizes are small and cost is high. 2people eating is around $ 40 and we rarely have leftovers. But like I said the food is soooooo good! And I keep coming back.

You guys, I finally just found thai food in Portland that I really like. Like really really like. I met a friend here the other night and we decided to meet at 6:30 a few tables were taken, but not that many– I was curious to see if it filled up later or not. Our server greeted us and asked if were going going to do cocktails or soda or water. Cocktails– oh yay! Sam, our server suggested a couple, but they were all with ginger– which I’m not a fan of so he said he makes a good old fashioned. Yes, indeed he does. And a strong one at that! My friend is gluten free so she had Sam show her on the menu which noodles they can do and what not. He was very nice about. She started with a soup and I ordered us the salad rolls to start. Yum, wow I could have eaten a couple more, but they are big in size so I wanted to save room for our entrees. I am a huge lover of peanut sauce– they had the perfect order for me! Rice with veggies, chicken and peanut sauce all over the top of it. Sam asked if we wanted spice added to our orders. I typically kind of drown my meal in the red chili sauce, so I though oh why not have someone else take care of it for me. I ordered a 3 out of 5– 5 being the hottest level. It was perfect. I don’t know if I even added that much chili sauce after that, literally was perfect. If you like your meals spicy– Sam will take care of you, just let him know! Everything that was being walked by us to other tables looked great– their huge soup bowls looked amazing. Sam was so much fun, very personable and sweet, which made the experience all the more amazing. I text my parents after the meal– mom, dad– I can’t wait to take you to this Thai place in Portland next time you visit! And I bragged to my friends about it. I can’t wait to go back!

Worst experience ever in Portland. We didn’t even get a chance to order. When our family asked for water we were that they were busy with an attitude. What kind of service is this. No place in Portland offers this kind of service.

Where Division takes a slight bend in the road you’ll find this brick walled hideout basking in Portland’s cool winter sun. A beautiful location indeed. Our waiter Alan was the best Thai homie ever. Thank you for the memorable meal, Alan! Hope to see you again.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in town! The food is delicious and Sam is a gem. I am so grateful that this restaurant is in the neighborhood.

I love love love New Thai Blues! We go in quite frequently for dinner, the Pad Kee Mpi(sp?) is great! The salad rolls are phenomenal! My bestie always has to ask for more peanut sauce because she just loves it! The drinks are super yummy! My favorites are the caprinha(again sp?) and the basil martini! If Sam is working, ask him just to create something. His drinks are always fabulous!

Totally disappointed with this Thai restaurant, especially after hearing such great reviews. Worst curry I’ve ever had(and I’ve had A LOT of curries.) I ordered the red curry with tofu. It came out cold-warm temperature, so I sent it back to heat up. They clearly microwaved it as none of the food on the plate had moved. Not happy. When I finally did eat it, it was incredibly watered down tasting. No flavor. Almost inedible. Ugh! The Pad Kee Mao was pretty good, nice and crispy and good flavor, but the bad curry kind of ruined our meal. The waiter wasn’t friendly and did not provide good service. Tip: Head down division to 32nd and go to Appethaizing. Amazing Thai food.

The food was very good, he veggies crisp! The spicy basil dish hitting all the right notes. But cleaning the restaurant while I, trying to enjoy lunch is gross. i picture dish and dirt landing in my dish, plus they were squirting disinfectants that had an acrid smell. This should be done BEFORE you open for business. The server was not particularly firendly.

Started off with a drink called ginger tears — it was fantastic and fresh with muddled ginger and lemon. I chose to have the mango red curry with shrimp at a heat level of 3 — also fantastic! Usually Thai places skimp on the protein but I had the perfect amount of nicely sized shrimp AND lots of tasty mango slices. The server was friendly and very helpful! She gave us a copy of the Portland Mercury and offered some good advice on where to eat and drink. Excellent!

Another one of the kabillion Thai places in Portland. This one’s not bad at all. Pretty solid pad thai and chicken satay. Lunch prices are reasonable. It’s not huge and so it can fill up easily at peak hours. Questionable name though. Blues? It can’t refer to the music, unless they think John Tesh musak is the blues.

When I first visit a Thai restaurant I always order the pad thai and chicken satay. I was not disappointed at New Thai Blues. The chicken pad thai was perfectly flavored and the chicken satay was even more so. It might be one of my favorite chicken satay dished I’ve ever had. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Food was delivered quickly. We arrived after the lunch rush so it was empty yet within 10 minutes it was full again. I guess a lot of people were waiting for the lunch rush to end before they arrived. I would patron this restaurant again.

Very nice and courteous service. I ordered a pad Thai with chicken to go but truth be told it was incredibly bland in comparison to any Thai dish I have ever had.

Being vegetarian, finding good food is a must! And Portland has a lot of Thai restaurants. And a lot of bad Thai restaurants. Simply put, this place rocks. We loved the puffy salad rolls, the peanut sauce is perhaps their weakest point, being too sweet in my taste buds but my partner says it’s worthy of a sonnet, and the pad thai noodles can bring the house down! My favorite is the Pra Ram, and the outdoor seating in the summer. the service is fantastic and we also like that we can walk over here and leave the car. Very very good, I would highly recommend it.

One of my favorite restaurants in Portland. This is a hidden gem in SE. I discovered this place just 3 years ago and have always had great experiences(whether at this SE location or the NE restaurant). Everyone who works here is so nice and provides great service. There is no attitude here either. I love the curry dishes. Try the avocado curry and the pumpkin curry. You won’t be disappointed. I have taken my out of town Thai friends here for dinner and they loved their pad Thai dishes.

My friends and I popped in here one weekend night to sate our Thai cravings. Sure glad that we did! The food is just scrumptious and the prices are reasonable. The waiter was super sweet and more than accommodating. If you are in the area, go here. You won’t be sorry!

My mother and I were driving around hungry, it was pouring out, and we saw the sign ahead for Thai Food! We stopped in and were the only ones(it was a tiny bit before noon) the server(possibly the owner as well?) was very polite and quickly provided us with menus, water, and then took our order. I had tea and pad khee mao. One of my favorites. My mother had the same. Very straight forward and what I would expect. Delicious and fast. As we were eating many more patrons filed in, almost filling all the booths. I’m not sure if this it normal for their lunch hour but at least one group appeared to be regulars as they new the employee by name and had a «usual». When I have a hankering for Thai in this area again I won’t hesitate to come back in!

My guy and I procrastinated Xmas dinner grocery shopping this year and by the time we actually got around to it, every store was closed. Our fault. So we drove around Portland looking for something that was open when we stumbled upon this place. We were so grateful to find something open on Xmas and we were delighted at how delicious the food was! The kitchen was quick but not so quick to make you worry that they maybe just heated stuff up in the microwave. Everything tasted so fresh! Our server was so nice and attentive but I think he may have eventually got a little annoyed at how many times we kept saying, «Thank you!» We even joked about it «If you say ‘Thank you’ one more time, you’re out of here!» And … «I get it, I get it. We’re open on Xmas!» It was lovely. Thank you for being open on Xmas! And thank you for a wonderful meal!

I have to update my review. The last two times salad rolls have been poorly made and haven fallen apart. They were difficult to eat. I just go a fork and ate it eat piece by piece. Now this is not a big deal in real life problems, but $ 5.00 for salad rolls they should be well made. I even let them know that the last time I got them they were difficult to eat. The person who took the order said she would let the cook know, but again they were impossible to eat. I roll better salad rolls and Im Not very good at it.

I lived in Thailand for 4 months a few years ago. Thai food is my all time favorite food and I wish I could eat it everyday. That said, New Thai Blues is THEBEST Thai food I’ve had in Portland. It beats E-San, it beats Sweet Basil. Both of which used to be my Thai food hot spots. Sam, the owner, is super friendly and a great guy. You can tell he’s taken great care if crafting his dishes, the ingredients, and his menu to offer only the best. ALLCURRIES are amazing here. My favorites are the Green & Red, but they’re awesome. The Pad Kee Mao is my other favorite, and the salad rolls with tofu are excellent. Lunch prices are $ 7 — $ 8 and you can’t beat that. It’s cheaper to go here for lunch than to a chain restaurant like Chipotle or even Laughing Planet. Which makes it hard to not go here every single day. Take it from a Thai food loving guy like me — go to New Thai Blues, order a draft beer, and have the tastiest Thai meal you’ve ever had.

Good food, nice décor, friendly attentive service, and a good lunch special. This place is pretty near to my home, so I end up walking here for lunch pretty often. Red curry is great, as is the pumpkin curry. Haven’t deviated too much from those items, but my friends have said the dishes they’ve ordered have been really good, too. Great selection of lunch specials for $ 7 The place is on the smaller side with 8 booths and a couple of tables, but it’s been well decorated. Pretty low key, but classy. And I dig the large curving window. You’ll enjoy the food here and it’s a good place to come with a couple of friends for lunch or dinner.
