Needed a part for my furnace on a Saturday. The gentleman behind the counter was gracious, helpful and very knowledgeable. Tested my part to make sure it was ok or not, confirmed that it wasn’t, and sent me home with one that worked!

Went in to get a 15 dollar item, there were two choices, one for 50 and a better one for 100 dollars. Told the guy I could buy one on line for a lot less. He said that I would have to wait and pay shipping. I said no thanks and as I was leaving, DON’T COMEBACK. Believe me there is no way that I will ever enter that store again. Also the guy thinks he is some kind of comedian. I just found him irritating.

Wow! What a great place! Friendly service and he found me the part that everyone else said could not be found. This is the way business should be done not like those big box stores. if he doesn’t have it or can’t find it I doubt it can be found. His store is a do it yourselfers paradise.

Norman at Nor-Mon was incredibly helpful when I came to him with only about 25% of the information he needed to really get me the right parts for my heat pump. He helped me find the right capacitor, contactor, and motor for my 25 y/o unit. Norman went so far as to source the right motor from another supplier in Portland just so I would have the right part for the job. This was the most work I’ve done on a heat pump, and they were helpful, friendly, and didn’t treat me like an idiot even though I probably sounded like one. Thanks, guys!

We are a regular customer of Nor-mon’s. They have lots of little odds and ends that are almost impossible to find elsewhere, and they have always helped us in a timely, and friendly manner. When the snow came last winter Nor-mon’s was the last store standing when I came to shovels, rock-salt, and sleds. We here at Spencer’s Appliances will continue to use Nor-mon’s for out special needs. Couldn’t recommend more.

I’ve gone to this place a few times for furnace parts. Last time I went in I had a furnace nozzle stuck in the adapter. They had a new nozzle available, and were able to remove the old one from the adapter. These guys are always helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks

OK. Three strikes and you are out, Nor-Mon! I have tried shopping here 3 times because it is a 5 minute walk from my house and each time I have been flabbergasted at how ridiculously overpriced things are. For example, I saw a really cool thermos on their«close-out» table a couple of weeks before Christmas that I wanted, so I asked«how much?» I was told that it was«about $ 30…I can get you an exact price if you can wait.» So I waited for 10 minutes while the guy shuffled through his 1930’s card filing system. He was having trouble finding it and I was in a bit of a hurry, so I told him never mind. $ 30 sounded like a lot but I still really wanted it so I suggested it to my girlfriend – told her where I saw it, how much I liked it, how perfect it would be for me, etc… Well, my sweet girlfriend DID get it for me, but on Christmas day she basically told me that I was crazy, and asked what was so special about this $ 50 thermos. When I heard that they sold it to her for $ 50 I was a little surprised and more than a little irritated. But when I went online and saw that I could buy the EXACTSAMEONE for $ 16, I was pissed! I told her to take it back, that I would order one online and buy HER something with the $ 34 that I saved. Well, they wouldn’t refund her the money but they did offer an in-store credit. So I begrudgingly purchased $ 50 worth of other over-priced odds and ends and grumbled to myself that I would never shop there again.
But I did! Today I thought I would give«Norm» another chance because my favorite hardware store(whose initials are W.C. Winks) didn’t carry a particular brand that I needed a replacement part for. I needed a replacement cutting wheel for a Lennox tubing cutter and Norm told me that they were $ 10 each and that they came in a pack of 2 so I was looking at a $ 20 purchase. When he saw my eyes pop out and teeth begin to gnash he supposedly double-checked his antique pricing system and verified this info. «Yes, that’s right! It says that the list price is $ 10 each.» But lo and behold, when I checked on-line I saw that Lennox’s msrp FOR A PAIR was $ 12.99 and that I could get 2 for $ 7.50 total from the site.

I was very impressed with their service. Had an obscure part fail on my furnance. I could not find the part anywhere. I called them, told them the part # and they called me back in a few hours saying they had tracked one down and they could get it for me. I paid a little extra for them to go get it, but that was well worth it for the service.
