Cat and her team have done a lot of work for my customers when they have pest and rodent problems. I have found their technicians to be knowledgeable and thorough in their service recommendations. They are a great trusted resource.

We contacted Northwest Pest Control after reading other reviews on Unilocal.My email was answered promptly with an estimate that seemed reasonable and a time frame set up (we had seen some German Cockroaches, ewwww!).
Daniel was courteous and answered all my questions and was quick to respond. I came home to bug carnage and the carnage continues. It grosses us out, so our vacuum is getting heavy duty, but I know the treatment was effective.
I can’t tell you the relief in knowing that I’m no longer sharing my home with these little pests. I would highly recommend Northwest Pest Control. Daniel listened to what I asked and responded quickly with a reasonable price and guarantee. I hope I don’t ever have to call them again, but if I do, I know who to contact.

Daniel and Cat at NW Pest have been invaluable to both my business (getting rid of ants) and at my house helping to rid me of mice. Reasonably priced and not gross. They are the best and quick to respond.

It’s a real pleasure to do a review of Northwest Pest Control. I’ve been working with them ever since I got started in the property management business and have always found them to be one of the best for a lot of reasons. And I know from bugs and pest control because my father owned a pest control company here in the Portland areas for many years while I was growing up.
The first thing I notice is their phone presence (professional and friendly). If you catch them via their voice mail, they do give the numbers of a couple of their technicians you can call directly. That is a great idea. If you do leave your number, you can be certain you will receive a timely response. Bugs freak people out and they want them gone now, but Northwest Pest Control will talk with you and walk you through the steps necessary to make the appointment and what you need to to prep for their visit. They will also tell you if you do not need a visit and how to fix the problem on your own.
That’s what happened to me yesterday. I have a resident who has been having persistent fruit flies, even after cleaning the apartment and refrigerator and sink drain, etc. thoroughly. To tell you the truth this sort of problem is one that’s never come up before (persistent fruit flies) for me because it’s such an easy fix (lots of cleaning). I explained the whole situation to Aaron at Northwest Pest Control. He explained that they would be there treating the fruit flies off and on every other day and that it was financially not feasible really. He gave me the home remedy of a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ solution of bleach and extremely hot water to be poured down the sink everyday and repeated until the fruit flies disappear. That worked for me and for our resident. Northwest Pest Control walks away with a five-​star review for their listening skills, honesty, and easy fix. I like that a lot.

Another great experience with these guys. This time with Joe Kennedy who gave good advice and honest opinion of what NOT to do. We ended up doing the basic whole house exterior spray and a few extra items at no extra charge. Why aren’t more tradesman like these guys?

Call them! I give them high marks for honesty!
The first time I called them, they arrived in five minutes, and after inspection Daniel explained that the termites were just in the wood in the yard. He told me my house was fine, and told me what signs I would see that would let me know otherwise. I got free advice on how to fix my problem. (Remove the wood, duh!)
The second time, I saw twenty or so bees coming in and out of a gap in my shingle siding. I panicked thinking that I had a hive in my walls. I called and a very nice lady explained over the phone that what I saw was a scouting party looking for a new home. As I had never seen this before, keep an eye out for a couple of days and to be sure that nothing gets established, and I could keep my money.
Today, I had finished replacing dry rot to the structure of my garage. My contractor advised my to have «a spray done to take care of the termite problem» before he put the siding on. Daniel came out again, told me I didn’t have termites, but it was beetles. This was much less of a concern, didn’t require treatment (aside from the replacement the contractor had done), and he told me thanks for giving them a call!
I have yet to give them any money, and I cannot comment on how well their solutions work (see other reviews for that). I can tell you that if money is a concern, these guys won’t take it from you unless there is a legitimate need.

Cat will educate your community on prevention, detection and treatment of common pests. When it comes to treatment they provide a checklist, professional staff and plenty of customized advice for each appointment. All this with a great sense of humor… they are a pleasure to work with and get the job done properly!
