My first time at Oddball I met Sarah, and showed her the concept I wanted, I knew I was in the right place. It was a couple of weeks in between, but when I finally made my appointment she showed me her interpretation, and it was spot on! Sara did a fantastic job, and she was a great person to get to know as well. All of the people there are friendly, professional and no drama. For what was essentially an «original» design I thought it was a fair price given the quality of work. I’ll go back!

The people there are friendly and I do the love tattoo I received there but sadly I feel like they over charge to much! I got a outline on my foot done and was charged a $ 100. I have smaller tattoos with more detail that didn’t cost me less than that! So my advice if you are willing to just drop some money go there but other wis wig your like me you’re probably going to want to go somewhere else.

I’m not great at writing reviews but I felt these guys are deserving of a shout out. First off the shop is clean and comfortable, and all the time employees there were pleasant to interact with. I checked all the artists portfolios and all their work is excellent. I settled on Jason because it seemed like his style was best for the tattoo I was getting. I’m happy I chose him, his work was of a very high quality for a reasonable price. I’m definitely going back here for any future work I have done.

With the proliferation of tattoo shops in PDX in can be hard to know what’s what. I discovered Oddball and my artist Adam Craven via referral from another tattooer I’d worked with in CA. Long story short, this place is real deal and Adam is a gem. From the consultation on everything was professional and well executed. The staff is friendly, the music is great, and everything is clean and well decorated (all the way down to the bathroom). With minimal direction from me, Adam created a custom piece that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Literally. So if you’re looking for quality you can stop because you’ve found it. Can’t wait to go back for more work!
NOTE: Photos depict a half-​sleeve done in two sittings totaling about 10 hours. It’s a memorial tattoo for my pops and content is highly personal. But yeah, it’s a Capricorn (i.e. a goat-​fish) playing in the waves. Whether or not you appreciate the subject matter you can’t deny the standard of the work.

Quality shop full of quality folks. If you want quality ink come here. Experienced tattooers giving top notch tattoos with no big egos or attitudes. It’s gonna last forever so get it done right. And don’t forget to tip your artist!

This is place is awesome. I called ahead to see if they were taking walk-​ins for the day, and it was my luck that there was a free artist to do some work.
When I came in I met Sarah and explained that I wanted a simple UFO tattoo. She quickly sketched up an idea, and I was really stoked with what she came up with. We promptly got started on the inking process, and within an hour I had my tattoo. The price was totally reasonable as well.
Everyone in the shop seemed to be really friendly and the atmosphere was just right. I didn’t chit-​chat too much with Sarah while I was getting tattooed, but the conversation we did have was pleasant.
All in all a really cool place with really cool people. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I guess you could say I have become a bit of an Oddball fan boiii. I have been tattoo’d through california, and a couple shops in portland. Good art now days really isn’t entirely difficult to find. You end up paying for the experience. And you get a great one here. No shop drama. Everyone is friends. They don’t talk trash on other shops in the area. All in all a great experience.
Yes. The art is absolutely impecable, and second to none. They all offer something entirely different too. It is not a shop where everyone is really good and they are all good with one style. They have all developed their own very unique styles that you can only get there. Now, I find myself driving up from San Diego (I am not exaggerating) just to get tattoo’d by David. And I have been for the past 6 years.

I love Oddball Tattoo! I got my first matching tattoo here, on my 18th Birthday with my 72 year old grandmother and we had such a blast. I also got my 2nd one here as well. The whole staff is super cool, and they are always friendly. I hear a lot of people complain about their pricing, but they use HIGH quality equipment, and they do an amazing job, so it is all definitely worth it!

Oddball was running a booth at Design Week Portland’s closing party this year, and I decided to get a tattoo done by them on an impulse (which most people feel isn’t the best way to get one) — I wanted to make sure it was something meaningful to me. I talked to Dave, one of the two artists working, about deviating from their suggested tattoos and I was able to get some small text done on my ankle that represented something really important to me. He had great line work and it turned out awesome. Next time I get a bigger piece done, I’m going to stop by here to see if they have someone doing work in the vein I want because I was really happy with the way it turned out.

I had a small finger piece done by David.
It was a solid black lightning bolt on the inside of my index finger.
David executed the design flawlessly. Every line is sharp and straight. Really impressed.
Super nice dude too. Would highly recommend.

You don’t go to a mechanic to make photocopies. As a customer or tattoo enthusiast you need to be informed and understand that tattooing is a bit more than a cool picture you saw on pinterest that you want to forever wear as the ultimate statement of your originality. I’ve been getting tattooed at Oddball for 10 years, I recommend them to anyone. Everyone who works there is an excellent tattooer that maintains the utmost integrity to their art and the tradition of tattooing. If you want to get a good tattoo go to Oddball.

I LOVE ODDBALL. I love the people that work there. I love the tattoos they make. You can’t really go wrong no matter who you choose to do your work. I have been tattooed by Mike, Sarah and Dave and have had excellent experiences with all of them. The shop is clean and bright. Everyone friendly. The music is good. I am always comfortable.

Went in today to find out what the special was for the infamous Friday the 13th tattoo holiday. It was pretty much cleared out and had 4 sheets of paper taped to a counter with shotty work and prices varying from $ 60-​$ 180 and no color. This was called a «Friday the 13th» special… clearly this was nothing special. Way to lose an excited patron that had a yearly tradition.

Went in with a photo of a tattoo that I wanted and immediately was told that the other artist’s work was shotty and that they wouldn’t be able to tattoo such small drawings. David, the artist, was completely unresponsive to me asking to stay as true to the photo and ended up rudely returning my photo and deposit in the shop. I would have appreciated some more respect and not to be treated like a child. It was the second time I’ve been there and I’m sad to have given them any more business. I recommend going somewhere where the artist isn’t so full of themselves and are willing to listen a bit to the customers. I didn’t appreciate all of the judgement from David and his fellow artists. I can’t stand when tattoo paroles treat people this way. I would recommend going to Atlas and just getting on their calendar. It’s worth the wait!

I had a horrible experience at the shop think God I never got my work done there. I found the shop to be very unsanitary! I talked with an artist named Adam and he was extremely rude unhelpful. By the time I left I was all worked up but I found a great shop to get my tattoo work done (((I would not recommend this place to anyone!!)))

I have been to a number of shops in Portland and around the country but Oddball takes the cake of crap! they are unprofessional and rude. we waited for over an hour and when I finally sat down to get my simple tattoo the artist couldn’t even figure out the placement! after asking the whole shop he got it figured out and the long waited piece was mediocre at best! wish I had walked out!
there are so many amazing shops in Portland, this is not one of them! don’t waste your time or money!

Cool place, friendly staff, great skill level and portfolios. This is the kind of tattoo studio you want to go to. All the artists do great work and have good attitudes. I love that they have all the Spider Murphy’s flash. It shows they have good taste.

Both my fiancée have gotten tattoos here and are really impressed with both of our pieces. My fiancée found the shop first and then recommended me to get my piece done by Sarah.
I met with her and talked to her about my idea (samurai pug). Showed her some ideas of pugs and what not. She then scheduled me in the following week. When I came in she had it drawn up and at first I was a little shocked. It wasn’t what I was exactly expecting and I think it was a little bigger then I thought to. I asked her if we could change anything and she was super nice and patient. She said we could change stuff but it would take time to redraw, etc. In the end I decided that I did like it and that I wanted to stick with the original. I’m so glad I did. I LOVE my tattoo!!! It is probably my favorite out of all my tattoos. Sarah put so much time into it too, I was really grateful for all she did! I would highly recommend going to her for all your tattoo needs!
