Ive worked here for 9 years. The prices never stop going up. Absolute price gouging… there are so few places to eat and when it comes to choices this café constantly raises it’s prices, slims the portions, and removes choices that they determine to be unhealty. You used to be able to get what you want, and make your own health choices… personally I will eat«bad» food and make the choice to exercise more. Not any more. Today was the last day I will ever eat here again. It had been over a year. As for the other comments I’d tread carefully. It’s not«open» 24 hours as they shut down for cleaning. There is food set out like doughnuts, coffee, bagels, etc. Lastly bring lots of money or don’t plan on eating much. $ 7.50 for a club sandwich(no sides or drink). You are best served to bring your own food and use the seating only. Use the microwave and get a water. Such a sad decline over the years. Every cent they raise wages they raise the food and parking to offset.

Everybody talks about Friday’s at the OHSU3rd floor cafeteria. Pasta is the Star of the day! With an assorted choice of veggies, two sauces, chicken and shrimp, you can get your carb fix for a boost or nappy time. Nappy time for sure if you get the large and don’t share it with someone else. Monday is good for the Chicken Club Sammich, which has either been replaced or renamed with The Guacamole som suttin. The salad bar is more than decent. If you need meat, you can get chicken for salad at the grill. Salads are purchased by weight so be careful/mindful of this fact. Maybe it is just me but I think the entrees are on the spendy side. Same for the bottled drinks, even though some have piqued my interest enuff to purchase them. The soups are usually pretty good. The breakfast is good too, with many different types of egg dishes, bacon, oatmeal, french toast… A little something for everyone. As it should be ;)

Had an extended appointment here and decided to have lunch here. WOW, I was never a big fan of tri tip until I had theirs. The tri tip was so flavorful and melt in your mouth! I only wish I had got an order to go also. The optional teriyaki sauce was not too sweet; but in reality the meat needed nothing else. I wish I knew their recipe; I would cook it all the time. I had rice and green beans on the side. The rice was rice. The green beens were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Prices are reasonable. I have frequent appointments here; I will now come hungry and make sure I go eat here. Yum!

Open 24 hours. Great options for breakfast, lunch and dinner at a reasonable price. For breakfast there’s an omelette station. Since I’m usually in a rush I’ll either go for a breakfast sandwich or a scoop of Denver eggs(scrambled eggs with ham, cheese, and some veggies) and home fries. The oatmeal is a healthier option, appropriately thick, pairs well with the self-serve brown sugar and dried cranberries but often leaves me hungry. For lunch I love the pasta bar. Imagine penne, huge chunks of garlic, shrimp, and a white sauce being prepared in a wok — yum! Fortunately I haven’t had too many dinners at the cafeteria and can’t think of anything that really stands out. However, a hidden gem is the lamb curry that occasionally makes an appearance around 2am. I dare say it’s the BEST curry in Portland! Image meaty chunks of lamb that’s slightly fatty, wading in thick, flavorful curry and sitting on a bed of white rice. You must try the lamb curry! You may or may not break out into a Bollywood dance. You will get acid reflux 6 hours later — confirmed by multiple general surgery residents.

I go to school here. I use this place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner — and it’s all good. They have lots of healthy options and I really feel healthy when I eat here. I spend a bulk of my food budget in here and I like it – kinda pricey but I’ve learned to budget wisely & eat well. I usually stick to the specials, but sometimes I’ll venture into the a la carte menu… I like the coffee too… Aside from the food, the best part about this café is that it’s open 24 hours/7 Days a Week/365 Days in a Year. The options offered are overwhelmingly awesome! I feel very lucky to have this place in my school.

One of the only hospital’s I’ve ever been to that puts healthy food as a priority. It makes sense that if a hospital is a place where your ills are supposed to be made better that the food it serves should help to do the same. So many hospitals will serve you absolute crap as a means to simply sustain people, but OHSU’s cafeteria does an extraordinary job of providing fresh food with seasonal ingredients. All hamburgers are made with 100% grass fed beef and they’re affordable. The cafeteria tries to source locally as much as possible. Grill items are made to order, and it takes a little more time, but you know you’re getting served quality food. Lots of healthy options and the salad bar provides a wealth of actually tasty alternatives to meat. Sushi and vegan options available with both hot and cold items. Dreyer’s soft serve machine.
