The chimichangas can’t be beat. They’re huge, too big to eat in one sitting, and oh so tasty. Don’t go expecting the best mexican food ever. But it’s cheap, filling, and tasty! And they’re always so nice!

Just returned to olé olé for the first time in many, many moons. Some years back, I lived just a few blocks from this joint… And frequented it. Back then, the price was right: cheap, mediocre Mexican thought held me over as a special treat between pay checks. Now, some years later, I’m happy to report that while their prices have remained consistent(extremely low), the quality of their food has skyrocketed! Tonight I got a fish burrito. Now. Many Mexican places are defined by their salsa. Olé Olé is not. Conversely, their salsa is mediocre. Their tortilla, though, are amazing! The rice and beams used were fresh and non-cumbersome, the fish was spiced but not fishy. I’m usually not a fan of beans/rice on fish. Cabbage and lime for life! Olé Olé delivers a fresh fish burrito, and doesn’t disappoint.

After hearing my boyfriend rave about it for over a year I finally gave in. I ordered the plain cheese enchiladas with a tomatillo style sauce and it was so much food! It came with rice and bean along with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. I’m really picky about Mexican food especially growing up around Tex-Mex but this place was really good for a spot in Portland. The plates and burritos are huge and über cheap! We’ll definitely be back!

Having a Spanish family and being from Southern California, finding authentic Mexican good was a major concern(seriously), specifically something with a New Mexico style like my grandma made and Olé Olé nails it. First, the portions are gigantic. Ordering one burrito for $ 5 is like ordering two and a half burritos which is an awesome value and great for two meals. You have a choice of meats for everything — nachos, quesadillas, tostadas, tacos, burritos, tortas — which include chorizo(authentic style), machaca, carnitas, chicken, etc. I think a lot of restaurants in Portland think they’re doing authentic Mexican food when they really aren’t. Olé Olé definitely is doing it right and if you’re from someplace that has real Mexican food, you’ll feel at home at Olé Olé.

This place nails the carnitas every time. I have had tacos but the burritos are my favorite. Get the green sauce in the squirt bottle and a glass of jamaica(not the country) and you’re set. I love it because it reminds me of my favorite place back home. It’s cash only so make sure you bring your ATM card. They have Tecate, Corona and Modelo bottles and if that doesn’t do it for you, walk across the street to the Standard.

Great Mexican food. Excellent view of hip SE Portland, and some Mexican ballads over the stereo. Good place! I recommend their burrito platter.

The hot sauce is garbage. And it’s cash only. Honestly though I like the place but don’t ignore other reviewers: Avoid the burritos!!!

Just really good, fresh, cheap mexican food. I never write reviews, but I think Olé Olé is one of the best values around. And they’re fast, and portions are big.

So good. Worth the drive across town. Love the asada and chicken mole. Dinner plates are inexpensive and plenty for me to take some home! Try it, you’ll like it.

I like to pop in here for a quick burrito but recently the man behind the counter seems to not understand the takeout customer. I dont feel i am more important than dine in crew, which there were not too many, but get the folks standing in the middle of the restaurant on their way. Some of us are on lunch break. No bueno on service, muy bueno on burrito.

Being from LA I’ve been very spoiled when it comes to Mexican food, BUT this place is pretty incredible. 100% authentic, yet creative, super fast service, friendly AND they had one of my favorite beers, Modelo Negro :) Great spot to sit outside on the patio, dog friendly too! Ummmm $ 1.50 for one of the best tacos I’ve had in a very long time. *** Unilocal, please add that this is dog friendly I waited almost an hour for the screen door a couple blocks away and finally gave up.

I ate at Olé Olé for the first time last month and was so impressed by them that I figured they would become a «regular» taco place for me. Well, I went back today, and that first impression I had of them was definitely reinforced. Their tacos are really good.. .especially the al pastor. Al pastor is my favorite taco meat and the savory smoky tastiness of Olé Olé’s version is a standout! And, the tacos are only $ 1.50.. .a great value. Yep, I’m a regular there now for sure.

I have been eating lunch at Olé Olé several times per week for 6 months. Here are my honest thoughts. The tacos are definitely better than the burritos. Nearly every taco I have tried has been delicious, whereas some of the burritos are hit and miss. Also, it’s hard to argue with the price tag of $ 1.50 per taco or $ 5.50 per burrito, especially because the portion sizes are fairly large. I love ordering four different varieties of tacos every day for a grand total of $ 6. Great deal. The variety here is also excellent. There are roughly 12 – 15 distinct styles of tacos and burritos(each) to choose from, as well as a few other types of common dishes like enchiladas, etc. There is something here for everybody, although clearly tacos and burritos are the focus of the business. It is cash-only, which is definitely an annoyance. However, there is an ATM inside and I suspect that cash transactions allow them to keep their prices outrageously low. I’ll take it. Bonus points for including free guacamole on nearly every burrito, but negative points for their exceptionally weak homemade«hot» sauces which quite honestly are not even remotely close to being hot at all. If you like spicy food, there is nothing here for you. Because it’s damn cheap, and because the portion sizes are generous, and because enough of the food here is actually quite good — Olé Olé is definitely deserving of your business if you’re in the neighborhood.

SSHHHHH!!! Dont talk about the mole. I dont need to hear about burger(though its supposedly not bad), and I’m definitely not here for the arroz con pollo. All anyone needs to know is CARNITAS. And maybe the chicken tinga. The carnitas is very juicy and tasty, and offered in copious amounts. The chicken tinga is an option if you want something different. Its quite spicy and smoky. Its good, its just not carnitas good. In my opinion, get anything else from here and you’re doing it wrong. Burritos are so cheap here. $ 5. Thats cheaper than some food carts, and you bet Olé Olé is better than most of them. The kitchen is lightning fast, so don’t be surprised if you get your food in under a minute. Solely because of Olé Olé’s magnificent $ 5 carnitas burrito, this establishment deserves 5 stars.

I’ve been going to Olé Olé for about 4 years now, and they have never let me down. I think the first couple times I got tacos, but after that, tried the enchiladas and never looked back. The bang for your buck here is the biggest draw. Six bucks gets you what costs $ 14 or more at those weak chain restaurant joints in the ‘burbs. I stick to Al Pastor enchiladas(not on the menu per se, but super good); my girlfriend likes the chicken ones. The nachos are pretty big, good to split between three or so people. The horchata isn’t too memorable, Jarritos for the win! Oh, and they only take cash, so hit an ATM beforehand to avoid fees!

Pretty darn good. After living in San Diego for a decade, this place hits it on the head. Authentic Mexican grub for a very modest price. The owners(or at least I believe them to be) are kind and friendly too. I go here frequently because I’ve never had a bad experience and never leave hungry. :) ***if you eat meat you must try the carnitas tacos or burrito.

Delicious. Fresh. Cheap. Fast. Filling. Really, what more could you possibly ask for? Oh, nice staff too! Probably my number one Portland eatery. Grab one of 15 burritos for a mere $ 5. My favorites are the Olé Burrito and the Chorizo Burrito. Fantastic horchata too, a big glass for $ 1.75.

Olé! Olé! is ridiculously cheap, plus really fast and good. The man working the counter last night was personable and efficient. There were maybe two cooks in the back throwing things together as a steady stream of customers came and went(lots of takeout business, I think). I had a veggie taco and a lengua taco($ 3.25!). They were just enough to eat and both tasted fresh. The counter guy brought me two bottles of salsa with my order, which was nice. When my gf arrived she ordered two chicken tacos with added guacamole, which seemed a more substantial meal than mine. I had forgotten to tell her it was cash-only, so I ponied up her $ 4.50(she paid me back). I’m sure I’ll be back here. I’d like to tour the full menu. They even have parking in front!

Really decent Mexican food for an incredible price. I can’t complain. It’s a small little joint, with only a few tables inside and a couple outside. It’s run by a very small staff, but it runs efficiently and fast. The food is surprisingly good for the cheap price tag. A Burrito Plate is $ 6 and gets you a gigantic burrito with a generous side of rice, beans and guacamole. You can add black beans or a whole wheat tortilla for no additional charge! I got the Meat Plate for $ 6 and chose Carnitas. It came with a generous portion of tender Carnitas, 6 corn tortillas for making your own tacos, rice, black beans, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream. It was really good. The Carnitas were legit — tender, flavorful, slightly crispy on the edges. The rice was average, but the black beans were very good and flavorful. Their guacamole is more of an avocado purée and much thinner than usual, but it’s decent. Hubby got the Chorizo burrito and some tacos. Out of all the meat choices, I enjoyed the Carne Asada tacos the most. PBR was $ 2 and Mexican beers were $ 3. Tacos are only $ 1.50, which may be the cheapest tacos I have ever come across. There were 2 bummers: 1. It’s cash only. Slightly inconvenient, but how I imagine they keep their prices so low. 2. Their website advertises a «Happy Hour» from 4-close on Saturday and Sundays, but the girl at the counter said they stopped doing that a while ago and only did it for a week. Take it off your website!
