Delicious Tawainese food. The GF and I have gotten takeout several times. We are obsessed. The Braised Pork is great, and my lady always gets the pepper chicken. So glad we found it!

The most authentic Taiwanese food. My daughter loves the braised pork belly, and salt and pepper chicken. If you are looking to eat at an authentic Taiwanese restaurant this is the one. Also must Have is sweet potato with plum spices is so tasty and healthy appetizer. I loved Beef noodle soup and pork chop Noodle soup too, just great to have on cloudy rainy day!

Our first go around here. This space has had a checkered past, and we were sad to see its predecessor, Emilie’s Café, go. This replacement is definitely worth a visit, though the menu is a little limited. We thought we were ordering different items but they were essentially the same pork chop — one with rice, one with noodles. Great seasoning on the chop, and deeply fried with a crisp tang. Not sure we would do the chop again, but we would probably be tempted to explore the menu on another occasion.

I love their fried chicken wing, pork chop rice and braised pork in bun. Foods are so tasty and delicious. The Best fried chicken wing and salt & pepper chicken I had ever had in Portland. Definitely will come back again. Hoping they will have some Taiwanese drinks someday soon.

I’m a big fan of Taiwanese food and I’ve been trying to look for Taiwanese restaurants in the Portland area for awhile now. My friend and I came here on a Friday for dinner. The restaurant is located right at the corner of the block and they have free parking in front. When we first parked, I was a bit worried because from the outside it didn’t look like there were a lot of seats. However, when we walked in we found out that there were more seats that were hidden to the side. The restaurant is pretty spacious as in the pictures. During our dinner there were a couple other Taiwanese families eating there so that’s a good sign that it’s authentic food. It seems like it’s a family business since everyone working looked like they were from the same family. My friend and I both ordered the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup(one each) and we got a Salt and Pepper Chicken to share. We also checked in for the free latte. Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup($ 10): My friend and I both thought the soup was well balanced and not salty. It wasn’t spicy though, so we just added our own chili oil which was made available at our table. There was plenty of noodles and the bowl was topped with a generous portion of beef brisket. Salt and Pepper Chicken($ 6): I think they might have used chicken breast so it was a bit dry, but the flavour on the outside was good. Perhaps chicken thighs would help it be less dry. One plus is that the chicken is deep fried with basil which I love! I would probably come here again if I was craving some Beef Noodle Soup :)

Sooo happy that I randomly came across this spot on Unilocal. Was perusing the photos, saw the ratings and decided I must give it a go! 1. We drove by it because it sits in an odd location off Canyon and it’s only three months old hence why I didn’t notice it. Tiny little spot. 2. Walked into an empty restaurant(why who knows because it’s delicious) and was greeted with a warm welcome. 3. All service was prompt, friendly, and great. The two working continuously checked up on us to ask how the food was, if we needed anything else(rice, water), and the staff was just awesome. The lady who was cooking came out to check on us as well and she was so sweet! 4. Free latte with Unilocal check in is awesome. 5. The food was inexpensive and sooooo delicious. This first visit we ordered the pork belly bowl(not minced), marbled tea egg, and the crispy salt and pepper chicken. The sour mustard greens, fried basil, pork belly dressing on your rice, radish(yellow sides), and fried basil toppings were so yummy. I cannot wait to come back!!! This is my new Taiwanese go to, I recommend everyone trying it out asap! Ive read other reviews and I can’t imagine their service being terrible or prejudiced as they were so friendly, kind, and accommodating! Off to bed now, dreaming of salt and pepper chicken.

I love that they are located so close to my house! I’ve been here twice in one week now. I highly recommend the salt & pepper chicken, the beef noodle soup, and the sweet potato fries. That chicken and those fries are also good as leftovers. We had good service both visits. I’ll definitely be back and would consider take out as well. Hits the spot!

The place isn’t much to see; very«mom and pop» feel in terms of setup. There apparently isn’t any heat in the café though, as it was absolutely freezing on the day we went and there were space heaters in the corner. It was pretty apparent to me at the beginning that the café caters to people they know, and not in a subtle way. While we had arrive first before another big table, they received their food well before we did which happened after I saw(I’m assuming) the boss come from the back to greet them. The food is good; not the absolute best but fair for Portland standards. I had ordered their 招牌 dish(their most well-known) and the waiter had raved about it when taking my order. However, after several minutes in which my friend received her beef noodle dish that was starting to get cold, still no fried pork rice to be seen. The original waiter came back and asked me about my food along with another different waitress, and finally well after both visits, he came back to tell me that my dish had been accidentally given to another table and that there was no longer pork available. Three hours before their closing time, they had run out of pork. And coincidentally, I saw that that big table had recently received a fried pork rice dish. While he ended up comping me for another dish, I was still disappointed by the customer service and obvious favoritism. I understand that this is natural and I would be lying if I said I haven’t benefited from this somewhere else, but to have such a blatant disregard for your other customers is highly disappointing and unprofessional. Needless to say, I won’t be going back.

OMG this place is awesome. So far every dish I’ve had there has been great. beef noodle soup, gua bao, salt and pepper chicken… hmmm… it’s a nice little gem in Beaverton. Authentic for sure. The wait staff can have some improvements but i have a feeling it’s more a family owned restaurants. Some of the serving sequence and cooking duration were a bit off.(we got our appetizers after our meals… and a couple of people in the group got their foods a lot earlier than others) I think the place is much better for small groups and family style or if you’re just up for a snack. They have super long and daily hours(except Tuesday) so that’s very convenient. Nice parking lot so there’s never a problem parking. Now… i think it’s a matter of time until they have some bubble tea to go with it :)

Finally, a Taiwanese restaurant that is serving up good food that brings me back to my home country! While looking up another new Taiwanese restaurant recently opened in PDX, I came across Oolong Yuan which happens to located on our side of the city. Hubby and I were very excited and suspicious(the lack of good Taiwanese food in PDX is very well known) about this place. Due to having new twins at home, we opted to order takeout from this place. We had the«must have» which are beef noodle soup, fried pork chip rice and braised pork bun. ALL were surprisingly delicious and on par with the flavor. Their price is also very reasonable(compared to other establishments). Their other menu items are intriguing(panini!!!). It will be my go-to for Taiwanese food.

They must have JUST changed the business hours of this place on their Unilocal page because of our experience earlier today. Though, they still proudly show off their incorrect hours on their facebook page and restaurant! I brought my cousin and little brother here for a late lunch and we were turned away because they decided to close up shop as they prep for dinner. I get it — some places will close up after lunch and reopen for dinner but at least advertise the correct hours, or at least lock your door. This place hung up a sign that listed their hours as open during that time and the door was unlocked so I walked in. After some old Asian women sitting at a table shot us dirty looks, a guy behind the counter told us their closed because they ran out of food. And that they have to prep for dinner. Ok, good luck prepping without food? I pointed out the sign and the menus laid across all the tables and he really had no response other than«yea we’re closed.» We got one last sarcastic«omghaveagreatday!» as we were leaving, which was top notch. Anyway, not sure if this place knows how to gain or keep a customer based on their service. Their food might be good, but with all the other Asian options around, their odd service, inconvenient location, etc etc, I highly doubt this place will last.

By far of all of the Restaurants that offer Taiwanese eats here in the Beaverton area this is one of the best! I have been here at least twice now and their taste and food quality have been consistent. The service is prompt and friendly and on top of all that they were willing to host my friends birthday party of 20 people. I like their pork chop rice and the beef noodle soup the best ! The way they fry the pork chop is just crispy enough but not too fried where the pork becomes too dry and it is just perfect. The thing that I like about them the most is that the flavoring is consistently the same every time I visit.

My wife and I had the Pork Belly Rice Bowl. It was alright, but the Salt and Pepper Chicken that my son ordered was the real star of the show. The service was EXCELLENT. We went over the weekend on one of there less busy days. The gentleman who I believes owns the place was really friendly. Food: 3.5 Stars Service: 4 Stars

Got Fried chicken and pork bun. Pretty good. Got here at 6.30 but most stuff was sold out. Will be back again. Seems like most of the stuff in store was leftover from previous tenant and probably used to be a coffee place. Pretty nice and quiet place. :)

Authentic Taiwanese food. We ordered pork chop rice, beef noodle, braised pork rice, and a special of the day«A» vegetable. We enjoyed everything especially the pork chop rice, pork is fried just right and comes with braised pork rice. Décor is mainly left from the store, and has a coffee shop feel to it as the result. We will return!

I was seriously craving some Taiwanese Beef Noodles and did a little Unilocal investigation and found this place — it definitely hit the spot, and I’ll definitely be going back! YUMYUMYUM! I grew up in Vancouver, B.C. and would often end up eating taiwanese beef noodles late after a night of drinking with my brother and his friends(who are mostly taiwanese). I think that the quality of most asian foods is significantly better in Vancouver than in Portland, and frankly, I am usually disappointed when eating Chinese, Taiwanese, or Korean food in this city. That was not the case here, and I am so happy I found this place! The noodles at Oolong Yuan were awesome. 1. The Broth — balanced and very flavorful, not too salty, and had a nice richness from the fatty/collageny beef that had been cooking in it. 2. The Noodles — I am accustomed to having Taiwanese Beef Noodles with the thicker rice noodles. The noodles here are a thinner noodle but they were really good, and the texture was perfect. They had a nice bite to them and held up well to the hot broth. 3. The Beef — the beef was perfectly cooked! Very tender and very flavorful. Also, I’m not usually a fan of eating the fatty pieces on meat(I know, I know), but the fatty pieces on the beef here were almost molten soft and were delicious. 4. The Accompaniments — There’s a good amount of baby bok choy in the noodles, and they offer condiment jars of pickled mustard greens and roasted chili oil on the tables. 5. The Portion size — Huge. 6. Value — excellent! My dining partner and I each ordered a bowl of noodles, and also shared the salt and pepper chicken which was delicious and very moist/tender, as well as the sweet potato with salted plum powder which was also very good. We were so stuffed halfway through eating our noodles that we ended up getting them to go.

First time visiting there today: I only give 3 stars because I think that it still has a lot of improvements to make! However, I do see the potential in this newly Taiwanese café place! The dishes we ordered were: — Fried Pork Chop rice plate(overall the best dish, best potion, taste, $ 9) — Salt and Pepper Chicken rice plate(chicken was pretty good but lacked marinated taste, medium portion, $ 7) — Fried Pork chop noodle soup(good portion, same pork chop but with noodle soup. Noodle soup wasn’t very flavorful like most Taiwanese soups but the noodles were pretty well cooked $ 10) — Braised Pork Belly Rice Bowl(small portion for price, and not a lot of pork belly meat, however it was well seasoned $ 7) The place is old looking but it looks like a good place to sit and talk. It would be nice if they can bring out bubble tea soon! Overall, I think this place is pretty authentic Taiwanese taste but some improvements to make! Hope this place will become better and better in the future!
