Oregon Tails

This is doggy daycare on steroids! My dog is an older rescue. She has some anxiety and social problems. We’ve seen nothing but improvements since she started going out twice a week with Oregon Tails. She’s a calmer, better-​behaved and happier pooch all thanks to Jonathan and his crew. If you’re considering dog walking /​daycare services, I’m not aware of a better one in the Portland area.

I can’t say enough good things about Oregon Tails. They are like family! If it’s not a «pack day» for our little pup, we notice he’s a little bummed! He absolutely adores getting picked up in the morning, spending a day out at the river with his best buddies and comes home TIRED. We can see the look of contentment and bliss as he snoozes on the couch after a day out with his pack. Jenny, Cole, and Tarr work with our pup to positively reinforce behaviors that have made our home infinitely more harmonious. Two paws up for Oregon Tails, they RULE!!!

We recently adopted our first dog and needed some help socializing him with other dogs. Oregon Tails has been incredible for both us and our little guy. Not only has it helped him meet new friends but it gives us a break a few hours per week! The small staff are most certainly hands-​on, friendly and attentive to any requests. I would HIGHLY recommend them.

How does one go about evaluating the efficacy and general awesomeness of a good Dog Walking service?
Is it the way our dog is passed out after a session?
Is it the way our dog stares out the window every single weekday morning until either they arrive, or he realizes they aren’t coming that day and gives up with a deep sigh?
Or his rapidly increasing social skills, heightened instincts, and general dogly confidence?
Maybe it is the faint odor of muck and streams and all around fun that he brings home with him, or the extra baths he needs now and then?
Perhaps it is one of the best damned collection of dog photos that one can find anywhere on the Internet, showcasing the pack at play.
I’m not sure any of one thing in this list is more important than the others, but if you add them all up, the result is this:
If you live anywhere within their area of service, and you are looking for a dog walking service, you needn’t bother with anyone else. Oregon Tails is truly a top notch service.

An incredible alternative to a 20 minute stroll around the neighborhood for a potty break, or trying to fit our schedule around that of doggy daycare. For our high energy young Vizsla, the Oregon Tails’ adventures were exactly what we were looking for. Jenny picks him up, wears him out with the rest of The Pack out at the Sandy Delta dog paradise (and takes some wonderful pictures for us to browse via Flickr, or sends out funny tweets), and then brings back our happy, healthy guy. The socialization is also a great bonus. Jenny is completely reliable and trustworthy. We can’t recommend the service more highly. One of our biggest regrets in moving out to NYC is that our guy will miss out on his regular adventures. Plus, a similar service in Manhattan would probably cost us something in the three-​digit range.

at first sending the pooch seemed like an indulgence, and now i think it’s the best thing i do for her! my gal is 10 (as of monday!), and so i think it’s a great investment in keeping her healthy and strong. she can choose her pace, stick with jenny (her wingman) or run with the teenagers. it’s great socialization, and great exercise in addition to morning runs and weekend hikes. jenny is always a joy to deal with, and i trust her completely to look out for the best interest of my dog. the flickr pictures and tweets are an added bonus!

So, I used to get up extra early for work, drive out of my way, wait in line for my turn, take a late lunch to pick up my dog before closing and then lock him in the car until my shift was over… that was when I took my dog to doggie daycare. Jenny and Oregon Tails have simplified my life. Now, I go to work and when I get home I have a happy, well-​exercised & tired dog. Jenny always sends me an email telling me about his day, and posts the pictures or videos to their website and facebook. I love seeing how much fun he and the other dogs had. I like that I can rely on her to take the dogs out rain, shine, wind or snow. Did I mention how much she has simplified my life? If your dog likes daycare, he/​she will LOVE Oregon Tails!
