Be aware that their office not only charges for a consultation fee, but also for the osteopathic procedure. They conveniently failed to let me know in advance, so they charged me the regular $ 60 fee for my specialist copay, AND also charged me for the procedure, another $ 40 that I should not have to pay. My insurance is as confused as I am. They’re not even sure why they charged me as a specialist when they’re listed in my network as a PCP, which would have cost me $ 30 instead of $ 60. It could all be a misunderstanding on my insurance’s part, but until this is resolved, I will leave my comment as is. I still feel like Osteopathic PDX should have let me know there was going to be another charge for the consultation. The consultation fee and the procedure should have been part of my copay. And to be honest, I didn’t feel any different when I left after their so-called«procedure». I get better results at a chiropractor’s office. At least the $ 60 copay I pay at a chiropractor’s office includes the consultation AND the procedure. I feel like I’ve been scammed. Not cool.

I was a patient of Dr. Esmer when he practiced at a different location in the past. I left his care and went to a different osteopath in Portland that I was referred to by my primary care physician. I saw Dr. Esmer several times over a one year period. The advice and guidance that I received from Dr. Esmer was not accurate, appropriate, or helpful.

Can not rate high enough. Appeared on Dr Esmer’s doorstep unable to sit for more than 5 minuets, barely able to put my own socks on… He made an accurate diagnosis, after 6 months have fully returned to an active life. He possesses great listening skills, communicates clearly. Gentle and cautious approach. As a nurse, I have high expectations regarding health care delivery, and health care providers are not always the easiest patients… he patiently answer all my questions. I have no hesitation recommending Dr Esmer. Who knew I had an SI joint… let alone that having your pelvis go out of alignment could incapacitate you… happy he knew.
