I love this place. Go in with your most recent pair of sneaks and they’ll look at your feet, the shoes, and what you use them for and find you the best new pair for your feet! Take a stroll or a run outside the store to confirm and leave with a great pair of shoes that work well for you. A wonderful local business!

Best service I have ever had from a running store. And I’m not exaggerating!
The guy will look at your old shoes to check your wear pattern. Then he can recommend the best shoes for you based on your feet/​strike/​running habits. He put them on my feet for me and then watched me run in front of the store with each shoe.
This is the spot!

The owner was very helpful assisting me with finding the perfect shoe. I know nothing about running or shoes and he not only helped me get a great pair of shoes, he also spent a great deal of time teaching me about proper running form and stretching. The service was amazing the the prices were more than fair. I’ll definitely be coming back for my next pair

I go all the way across town, on the bus, to get to this shoe store. I’ve tried the other well-​known shoe stores in this town and whoever helps me is always in a hurry and doesn’t pay nearly enough attention to my needs. I’m paying a hundred dollars or more for shoes that will not be returnable by the time I figure out they’re no good.
Enter Pace Setter Athletic. In fact I sometimes need to bring *my* extra patience, because they’ll do whatever it takes to get you in the right shoe. They’ll watch you run up and down in front of the store 100 times if necessary, pull out dozens of boxes of shoes. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that but you get the drift.
I can’t figure out how anyone could care so much about other people’s feet but these guys obviously do.

I can not say enough about the wonderful experience that we had today at Pace Setter Athletic! Bill and Anita, the owners of this business, are absolutely the very best! These people are so knowledgeable, gracious, helpful, and they want to sell you the product that will work for you. My daughter came home from Houston, TX in need of new running shoes. We attempted to go the typical running shoe route, at an athletic shoe store, but she did not feel comfortable with the product. Then Pace Setter Athletic came to mind. They were exactly what my daughter needed to make an excellent decision on a running shoe that feels great, will support her feet, plus Bill gave her a ton of tips about how to keep running and feeling good. Two thumbs up way up!!! Thank you so much Bill and Anita. It was such a blessing to meet you both today. God bless you and your business!

This place was incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and not intimidating like some running stores can be. They helped me find the perfect pair of long distance walking shoes and hoes my husband find a great pair of running shoes. They had a ton of options and were patient and there was no sales pressure.
This was the most pleasant athletic shoe shopping experience I have had.

I usually just stop in when I need to buy gu or similar stuff and everyone was very friendly.

This was an odd experience. I went in because I had a groupon, however as soon as I walked in through the door, I was immediately greeted with «how can I help you?» It was a little hard to figure out, as I just walked in through the door. I did find a neat hat in there, but I don’t think I’ll go back. It was just overwhelming…

This is not the place to go for running shoes if you have small feet.
This is not why I’m only giving it 2 stars.
The employee kept bringing out the same shoe in slightly different sizes.
When I asked him why he kept bringing out that brand and what he liked about it, he told me it was because it’s American. Sorry– my feet before my country! But even that’s not why it’s a 2 star place.
I wanted to try on some other shoes besides the same New Balance shoe he kept brining out. He finally admitted it was the only shoe he had in my size.
It would have been so nice to know this from the beginning, instead of going through the charade and listening to him put down Fit Right NW several times.
I’m going back to Fit Right NW, where they have more than one employee working at a time, more than one shoe in my size, and where politics is kept out of the shoe store.

As suggested I brought my last two pairs of running shoes in and the staff at pace setters was like… wow, those suck and here’s why… which might explain why my feet hurt after running.
I loved the experience, the shoes, and the 50% off I got on my jacket.

Running has so much to do with how well your shoes treat you, especially in training.
I love this store, you walk in with your old shoes on, they watch you walk and than run and put you in the right shoe for you.
They listent to your needs whether that be a beginner runner to an elite racer. They got me in 2 different pairs that I switch back and forth to and they do nothing but good things for me and my training, that and with the help of glide under the socks.
All the people that work here know what they are talking about, will answer any questions that you have and even wanna know when your next race is.
I am a repeat customer that is for sure and I think if it weren’t for this store I wouldn’t be able to train at the level that I do.
Nike’s for me just weren’t cutting it. of course this is different for everyone.

So I sprained my left knee about six weeks ago, and I just now realize that my aged walking shoes might be part of the problem.
It’s amazing how distracted I’ve been lately.
As always, the folks at Pace Setter were helpful and attentive. They pointed out where the structure of my old shoes had finally failed from overuse — make sure you bring your old shoes with you when you come to Pace Setter! — and explained how the model of shoe they recommended was sturdier at those points of failure.
Allow me to close this review with a plea: Folks, if you walk a lot, do not go 18 months between buying new walking shoes. Just do not do it. Go to Pace Setter every six months, bring $ 100 for the shoes, and let them take care of you.
