Parkrose / Sumner Transit Center

The Parkrose /​Sumner Transit Center is well above par for Portland’s light rail stops. Only the red line goes here, so be careful of your timing. This transit center includes a waiting area for several buses and a ticket machine next to the entrance. After that, reaching the station means crossing on a pedestrian bridge over the freeway on to the platform. Amazingly, this station is primarily composed of chairs, not benches.
I went here just to explore. The cemetery that I wanted to observe is actually much closer to Gateway Transit Center, Portland’s best light rail stop. There was lots of nice shade and you are only a few minutes away by rail from shopping at Cascade Station. The loud freeway can be a bit annoying, but headphones and listening to music should mostly cure such ailment.
