Last night was a 3-star meal at best. Clearly, whoever was in the kitchen last night was not up to par. The chef left the side muscle on all the scallops(even home cooks know to take that off) and they were piled on really bland piles of orange risotto. The french onion soup was too salty to eat, and we threw out our take-home desserts because one had dry cake layers and one was way too sweet. So I won’t kill them with low stars, but I did want to add an update so out-of-towners can choose wisely. It’s hit or miss and not always 5 stars, unfortunately.

Just went earlier today and I loved it! The food and service were both great. I tried their ham&cheese quiche(I think cheese), onion soup, had a green tea latte and ordered a kids menu crêpe for my daughter. Everything was delicious!

Dang this place was great! We were in a bit of a rush so we got take out, but it would have been a great place to relax and dine slow. It really has a cutesy, French café feel to it, and the pastries looked amazing! I got a smoked salmon Benedict, and it was a great price for such a huge portion. It came with a croissant instead of a English muffin, so delicious!

The pastries are very delicious. You definitely need to try the Meurette Benedict if you go here. It is an interesting and amazing take on the classic eggs benedict wherein the ham is swapped for bacon, the hollandaise for a burgundy reduction that is utterly delectable, and the whole thing is on a croissant instead of an english muffin. Needless to say, the breakfast is awesome!

Smells awesome when you walk in? Food decision made. Our hostess was amazing too and was on point with the 45min expected wait time after arriving there at 11:15 on a weekend. We got the MUERETTEBENEDICT. The only similar thing to a traditional Benedict is the poached eggs. Which were BEYOND perfect by the way, and instead of hollandaise sauce it’s a burgundy reduction with caramelized onions and mushrooms over a perfectly warmed croissant split in half. I got mine with potatoes and butternut squash. Hearty meal for sure, so prepare! And what’s breakfast without a glass of gin? Not a good enough one. So I got the drink with lavender infused simple syrup, gin and lemon with a sugar rim. WINWIN. And can’t forget to mention our wonderful service.

Quite a charming little place. We came here in the early afternoon after having just landed in Portland. We didn’t have reservations, the wait was about 15 mins. There are some nice local shops on the street, we were able to check some out while waiting. We started with some drinks. I really enjoyed a mule that I got, also the Tennessee honey was really good. Definitely recommend that. My friend ordered the summer mojito and it was a little too sour for taste and wasn’t able to take more than a sip. Definitely don’t recommend that. Our server was nice enough to take back that drink and get another one. We got some breakfast item: eggs Benedict, chefs omelette, Berry crepes. They were all great brunch items. The crepes were alright, loaded with berries. The omelette and eggs Benedict were on point, you could get it with ham or smoked salmon as well. Service was good and so was the food, place was charming.

Wait time was good for a Saturday, only took about 15mins. Good food! The croissant with the jam was pure heaven.

The pastry look amazing we went for a brunch and we tried a few of their pastrys and they were really fresh. The menu was pretty unique was they had some items that you don’t see often, like a pork Apple sausage which was decent, was hoping for more of an apple or smoked Apple taste. Our server was very attentive as we wished our friend a happy birthday and they next thing we know is he comes to wish her a happy birthday! At the end of the meal also got a small pastry with happy birthday written in the plate! Worth trying if you’re in the neighborhood

I only had pastries to go and I am glad — there was quite a big queue for people who actually wanted to sit. The place was super busy and quite loud, though nice and warm so I would have liked to stay in on this rainy day! The pastries were very good! Most products are typical French, some of them are Americanized(cheese and raspberry pastry!!?)

eyes were drawn to the pastries right when i walked in… you really cant leave here without their cute yellow and black striped bag… inside the bag i shared a butternut squash and goat cheese brioche… drooling now as i type. it was savory and eggy… my fav! 95% of their options are sweet… i also ordered on accident two items– the cashier thought i ordered the almond chocolate croissant so i just went with it and gave him my money… then a third pastry purchase by hubby. an apricot and rosemary croissant. that was also yummy but a bit sweet for me this would be a cute place for brunch — all the dishes and bloody marys looked scrumptious!

Meh. Not nearly the best croissants in town, not nearly the best coffee. The staff all seemed robotic, like they should be working in a huge corporate chain with a script. I drank my espresso and ate my croissant at the bar. I watched as a server checked on the couple eating next to me. The server asked the woman how her burger was and the lady responded, «It’s fine, can I have more ketchup?» And the server plastered on a fake smile, said of course, then turned her back, lost the smile, and rolled her eyes. I mean, it was a big exaggerated roll of the eyes. I don’t think the lady with the burger saw, but I certainly did and I can only imagine what the server would say or do behind my back for asking for… well, service.

My lady is petite, so I know a thing or two about what petite means. It means that you can’t reach the top shelf of your cupboards and most normal sized clothes end up making you look like you’re wearing a potato sack. I don’t think there was anything that I could see that was petite about this place. It had two stories and an outdoor seating area. Not to mention the bar seating area. It was pretty sizable. It looked like it could reach the top shelf of the cupboard without a problem. Like me. This was more like me. I would change the name of this place to Mike A. Provence. I don’t know what Provence means so I won’t go there. On a Sunday morning, the wait here is what you’d expect a wait to be at an Alberta breakfast spot. The crowd is what you would expect. The food is what you would expect. So, no complaints. This place met my expectations. I just wish it wasn’t pretending that it was small. It’s cool to be big. Just embrace it like Meghan Trainor.

There’s only a couple situations that make me grateful for naturally being a morning person. First is to be able to access an empty gym before everyone else wakes up and second is breakfast. Ending up at this place first thing in the morning after waking up at 6 am for no good reason is probably the best thing that can happen to you in Portland. We must’ve gotten there around 7:30, it’s one of few places that opens for breakfast before 8 in the area. When we first arrived it was pretty empty but the place was fully seated plus a line within thirty minutes. It’s fragrant with the scent of butter from all the morning’s baking when you walk in. There’s rows and rows of beautiful pastries displayed in front. There’s no way there isn’t one you won’t find to your liking. The servers here are super sweet. Their food is fantastic. I got the Eggs Provençal — roasted tomatoes with mozzarella pesto and poached eggs. Also comes with a side of butternut squash and potatoes and a croissant. It’s a lot of food but just as tasty for leftovers. One thing you absolutely must try here is their croissant. It’s so flaky buttery and really just perfection in a croissant. Now I know and probably won’t ever be able to eat another croissant the same.

Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner. It’s perfect any time of the day. Come in the morning for pastries before they run out! It’s always heartbreaking when that happens. They have a large variety of delicious desserts as well. I’m a huge fan of their omelettes, eggs Benedict, and French toast. If you come too late, then you can’t go wrong grabbing a sandwich. Almost everything here is yummy!

Disappointing, mixed meal today. First the complaint. I ordered the Printemps omelet. It was dry and over cooked. I could not find any Gruyère flavor. The mint pesto wax dry; whatever olive oil that was in the pesto was gone. I asked the server to take it away after three bites. He asked if I wanted a box; I said no. At no time did he ever ask if our meal was OK. He did not ask why I was asking to take my meal away. It never occurred to him there was a problem, so he made no attempt to fix it. Clearly he is not in touch with his customers. Rebecca had the baked eggs; this gets a double yum. We shared it. We split it. Thank you to Rebecca for sharing. We normally have good food here. Very disappointing meal today. Unobservant server, I assume we will try them again. I hope this was an anomaly.

We came in at a slow hour in between lunch and dinner(during happy hour though) and it was a nice experience. We sat at the bartop expecting to do happy hour but it was only mussels that were available so we decided to order from the lunch menu instead. I got the burger and good lord it was very very delicious… it was very juicy and the bun(probably the best bun I’ve ever had) and the meat and toppings went very well together. I chose french onion as my side(little weakness of mine) and I could almost go back just for the soup alone. Have had dinner here before and I really like the idea of small plates for everyone to share(or not ;)) for not too terrible of a price. I love the ambiance of this place. Very french but with an rustic urban look. Looking forward to enjoying lunch outside soon as well.

One of the better breakfasts I’ve ever had. We had the best table in the joint(small 3-person table on the indoor balcony overlooking the restaurant). We ordered: *Salmon Hash — the best dish at the table. savory, zesty, fresh, creamy. everything you’d want a savory breakfast to be. *Day Breaker — standard breakfast done well. moist sausage patties. *Risotto Cakes — «pretty frickin’ good» — as my boyfriend exclaims. *Hawaiian & Raspberry Mimosa — not your average shitty CVS champagne. *Coffee — one of the best cups I’ve had, especially in Portland. Service was excellent. Will return.

I love this place! Every time I visit Portland we make a point to visit it for breakfast. It’s top shelf all the way! From the scrumptious window of baked goods to a menu that has so many interesting ingredients and combinations that I never can land on only one entrée that I want. Frustrating! LOCATION&AMBIANCE(Rating 5) This place is so cute and so well done that I guarantee«Wow» will cross your lips if it’s your first time. The craftsmanship of wood details and quality of the displays and comforting layout of this warm environment makes breakfast a joy that’s well worth the wait. SERVICE(Rating 4.75) These guys are busy, but they always seem to get it all handled and check in often with us to make sure everything is good. They are always friendly and have always been happy to share their favorites on the menu. INORDEROFMYFAVORITEDISHES BAKEDCROISSANT(Rating 5) This is my FIRST time listing a croissant as an entrée. It deserves it though. These things are sinful. They are so perfectly balanced between sweet and bread that it’s tough not to stop. Whatever you do, don’t offer to share. or worse yet promise to share yours. You won’t! So how do you improve on perfection? Add their home made mixed berry jam. Oh My! MEURETTEBENEDICT(Rating 4.75) So if your in the mood for a novel dish this entrée will not fail! 2 poached eggs in a burgundy reduction on top of a sinful croissant topped with caramelized onions, mushrooms and sauteed bacon. YOUMUST get it with the Provencal Potatoes & butternut Squash. This dish is outstanding. It’s an extremely novel taste that borders moving out of the«breakfast» genre IMO which is the only reason it was not given a 5. This is probably just something I have to get over as I’m a creature of habit. Highly recommend this dish. PROVENCALPOTATOES&BUTTERNUTSQUASH(Rating 5) While it’s not often I separate potatoes into their own entrée section, these deserve it. I’ve had them each time I’ve visited and only once were the potatoes a little overdone. Typically the blend of butternut squash and potatoes seasoned almost to perfection(needs a little more salt) is heavenly. I love potatoes! CHEFOMELETTE(Rating 4.5) A 3 egg omelette with house made sausage, bacon, tomatoes, onions, cheddar cheese and topped with avocado. It also comes with the Provencal potatoes & butternut squash below. so good… The only changes I made to the omelette was I switched to Gruyère cheese instead of cheddar and added sour cream on the side. This omelette is great and almost anyone will like it. My only regret is that I don’t come here enough to NOT go out on a limb and order something more interesting. Next time… CHEESYPOLENTA, BACON&EGGS(Rating 4.75) Creamy polenta with cheddar and Parmesan cheese topped with bacon and two poached eggs. Super yummy and not overly spiced as I was worried about with the Parmesan being added for breakfast. The polenta subdues the spices and takes this dish to the genre of comfort food.

I really dig the ambiance of this place, and I totally recommend sitting on the second floor to people watch like I did(if you’re into that kind of thing.) Service: Our waitress was amazing, she seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a great experience and enjoyed ourselves. Food: I ordered the vegetarian sandwich served inside a croissant. It was pretty good, can;t complain. The side of fruit was pretty meh though. Also shared the potato leek soup, which came with two small slices of delicious fresh bread. Boyfriend ordered the salmon hashbrown thing and said it wasn’t worth all the hype it gets. His croissant was super dense and delicious though and was served with some pretty darn good butter. I need to come back to try some pastries! Was too full this time around but they were taunting me the entire time looking all delicious in that case downstairs. Next time pastries, next time.

Most amazing seafood chowder I’ve ever consumed. There’s that. Risotto cakes tasted homemade. +1 Croissant was a big chubby deliciously moist thing with some raspberry compote shit that blew my mind. Service was attentive and polite. Crowded, though. Would recommend, overall!
