Pizza was pretty decent for being readily available at the airport. A few different varieties and they have combo meals available. The pizza is pre-made and they heat it up but if you want to, you can check to see what they are making and wait for a fresh pie to come out… Depends on your timing though… Not the greatest, but definitely not bad… Especially for the airport…

I grabbed a quick bite to eat at Pizza Schmizza at PDX(Portland International Airport) on my way home to California. I did enjoy the pizza, but the prices were a bit steep for a rubbery pizza whose toppings were coming off. Still, for quick, cheap airport food, this place was not too disappointing.

Traditional technique, awesome pies. Doesn’t quite top Sizzle Pie, but pretty damn good.

strangely enough this was one of the most satisfying pizza experiences of my life. and who would have guessed it’d be while waiting for my flight at the airport who knows, maybe i was really hungry or something, but the pizza i had(feta, olives, artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes. etc) was so good that i nearly missed my flight going back for seconds

Get your thin-crust, tangy sauce on. This has to be one of the best slices of thin crust pizza I have had in an airport in a long, long time.

I’ve always been pretty proud of PDX, not only for how nice it is, but also for its Portland representation. That’s why I’m so stoked on the addition of Pizza Schmizza. I’ve always considered Schmizza very Portland, you can get a decent, eclectic slice, salad, and a drink without putting too much of a dent in the old wallet, and take in the weird, very Portland atmosphere of tattooed staff, and oddball decorations. Represent! Represent!

There are many Pizza Schmizza’s around Portland, and the airport is now your last chance to enjoy the goodness. This is only a bite-sized version of a typical Schmizza joint, but worthwhile nonetheless. The story I’ve heard, is that the owner told his father, after graduating from college(or grad school), that he wanted to open a pizza joint, and his father’s response was, of course, «Pizza Schmizza!,» the rest is history – a history laced with crocodile, spaghetti and even typical flavors of pizza. The kooky combinations are all just as yummy as the traditional combos — their meat pizza(«Genoa») is especially good!
