This Plaid Pantry is the best convenience store in the PSU area. The other options are the Plaid under the VUE, which is very small and more crowded. There’s the Plaid on 11th and Jefferson, but that one has a lot of problem with theft, so(depending on the cashier) they make you leave your bag up front, and they sometimes have long lines. Natural Mart, in the Cyan Apartments, closes early and is overpriced. Mak’s Mini Mart is overpriced and the employees are rude. I could go on… This is somehow both the biggest convenience store around PSU, as well as the least busy. I preferred when it used to be a 7-Eleven, because Portland could stand a few more 7-Elevens, especially when you’re around PSU and want a Slurpee. But what can you do? Overall, aside from the deals and sales Plaid always has, it’s usually slightly more expensive than the nearby Safeway. But sometimes, you just have to go to a Plaid instead of a grocery store :) Overall one of my favorite Plaid Pantries.

This Plaid Pantry will ultimately go down in history for it’s convenience. It is in a good position near both Portland State University and the city’s fanciest neighborhoods. It is kind of a mixed bag, especially since other convenience stores are to be found in the area. Prices are all over the map as far as being appropriate. I went here after having gone many times before. They have a nice selection for their size, though I’ll only opt to get snacks here now and in the future, not lunch. Prices are noticeably higher than at Fred Meyer for many items, such as how Harribro Cola Gummies are $ 1.29, not $ 0.99 like at Fred Meyer. I got a medium bag of Frito’s for about $ 1.49. Keep your options open to the likes of this corner store.

Top-tier convenience store, imo. You should probably browse the bomb as heck craft beer selection and try some delicious microwavable burritos
