I thought I might be being hyper critical, but seeing other reviews I’m thinking maybe not. The yogurt here isn’t very tart. The other special flavors aren’t that great. What really pushed me over from thinking they were just okay to absolute meh was some pretty lackluster service and food about a week ago. Went in about 25 minutes before closing on a weeknight, happy that they were open until 8pm. When I came in, the girl working behind the counter was on her cell phone in the back. She came out to help me, and I asked to try the seasonal flavor(something berry, pretty blah, but was okay with fruit). When asked what I wanted on top, I said«I’d like strawberry and… what else do you have?» The girl behind the counter asked«You want strawberry and blueberry?» and I said«Um, no, do you have banana?» So she cut up some banana and went to work on my yogurt after telling the person on the phone she’d set down that she’d call them back. And turned around and presented me with yogurt topped with strawberry, banana, ANDBLUEBERRY. I know it might seem like a small oops, but yo, I really hate blueberries and I said no to them pretty clearly. Really, the yogurt isn’t that great and I’d not go out of my way to come back here. There are other, much better, frozen yogurt places in the neighborhood.

My rating is based on the food. The frozen yogurt is not tart enough. It is icy. I prefer smooth and a little more tart. We visited Pop Culture when we were trying to hunt down the best frozen yogurt in Portland. We were disappointed that the yogurt was icy, because the staff is friendly and sweet.

So bummed. Topping selection is lacking, and the plain yogurt itself just wasn’t as flavorful as others I’ve had around the country. Plus, it was deserted when I was there, which isn’t the best sign in the world. The girl who helped me seemed a bit clueless too.

Although not wow-ed I have to disagree with Liz. My visit to Pop culture was a positive one. My pregnant sister was having one of her frozen yogurt cravings so we headed to the pearl district. It is traditional frozen yogurt, tart and refreshing. It was not in the least bit bland. I got the«Pearl Swirl» which had blue berry, granola, strawberrys, and honey. YUM! 5 $ was a bit step though but the servings were pretty darn big. I got a veggie cheese sandwich which I think was $ 5 as well. Although delicious, wasn’t to filling, The service was really friendly! I applaud there efforts to go green. It is very artistically pleasing, bright colors, art, but it looked unfinished somehow. I get the feeling they just opened so I’m sure they’ll get it together in time. parkings a bitch. verdict: worth checking out if you’re a yogurt fan or want a snack.

My experience with Pop Century Frozen Yogurt is probably the closest I’ll ever get to understanding how a guy feels after he sees a girl with the nicest rack ever only to discover that half of it belongs to Victoria’s Secret. Hours later, I am still grieving over the deception and lies that surround this place. While their name is Pop Century FROZENYOGURT, their menu only includes ONE lonely yogurt item. If only they knew-ONE is the loneliest number… Yet don’t think that their menu is short, no, their sandwiches, salads and other dessert items are far from lonely. Seven sandwiches, three salads and four non-yogurt desserts round out what one might call a café menu??? Once inside the cute little shop, full of ample seating and bright colors, the friendly staff informed me that along with their trademark peach yogurt they also have original. Now that’s more like it, TWO flavors at the yogurt shop. I totally understand the name now. So I ordered the peach, shoot I’d walked 15 blocks, I might as well try it. Now they sell it as a meal complete with banana, strawberries, blueberries, honey and granola all served in three size choices, big, bigger or waffle cone. Yet it was early afternoon and I’d already skipped my workout today so I opted for just the yogurt. Unfortunately, that doesn’t change the pricing or sizing options, so my request for«a dish of yogurt» got me what would be a love it size at cold stone dish of peach yogurt for $ 4.99. Yes I said it, $ 4.99. Oh the price of a Unilocal review. To finish it off, the yogurt wasn’t that great. It was light, definitely not tangy as they advertise, very bland. And even though it is «pet friendly» my pug, who dug through the garbage at work today, didn’t even like it. Liar, Liar — Pants on Fire!
