The Educational Travel Tours: I was able to go on my first international trip to Morocco with PCC. It was such a great experience, they’ll both (PCC and Morocco) always have a special place in my heart! I’m waiting for a guided tour to Ethiopia! I’d love to travel to every country in Africa!

I’ll probably have to update this later because my opinion of PCC changes semi-​often. And I go into rants and raves simultaneously.
I decided to leave Nevada because it’s a shithole. I had attended college there off/​on at UNLV as well as surrounding CSN campuses. I had horrible experiences every single term. I decided to move to Oregon, try PCC before having to pay outrageous out of state tuition somewhere else, and then perhaps transfer or continue my education. I’m a Nursing major like every other person in the universe.
Some of my classes from Nevada didn’t transfer because there was no PCC course equivalent. That’s okay… ish. And I have all of these random credits from my bazillion previous majors.
I am essentially starting over.
My first two terms at PCC were great. Although, parking is outrageously expensive.
The online classes are not that fabulous. They are always doing maintenance or having issues.
Some of the office staff at the Rock Creek campus just blow. Hard.
And I’ve noticed that many of my instructors love what they do, and I’ve never, ever had that. I know that’s odd to say. Maybe professors/​instructors in Nevada just hate their lives collectively, but I never once had an instructor I actually liked and felt put their heart into teaching the subject.
It’s the science department that leaves me questioning my choice to attend PCC and pursue a career in Nursing.
Last term, I had the worst «instructor» I have ever had. One that threatened people in my class and singled out students. Sounded pleased as all hell that the class average for each test was a D. Fell asleep in class multiple times. Allowed certain students to re-​do assignments to up their grade, etc etc.
But I like the open lab opportunities and the fact that Melissa (the girl that mans the open lab) is way more helpful/​informative than anyone else in the department and lessens the bio sting.
UNLV and CSN also didn’t give me a printing credit.
I printed out a crapload of papers for my A&P track this term. It would’ve cost me tons of Rebel Cash to do that.
I’m just praying they decide to change the bio curriculum. I don’t think it’s that great. Half my initial bio class was people taking it the 2^nd time. Oh, and some of them did not pass round 2 either.
On one hand, I wouldn’t want them in the health field.
On the other, the bio curriculum is ridiculous and it’s like high school all over again. Just more intense. Really? A lab report on benzoquinone? When will we ever have to save a potato’s life? I’d rather eat them.

PCC is not a bad college, but it certainly isn’t great.
Their online classes on convoluted and unorganized. I’ve certainly had more negative experiences with the online teachers than positive.
For the most part their on campus classes are pretty well organized and the teachers are knowledgeable, available and attentive. Most are willing to help you out after class and are there for your learning experience. The one exception I had to this was in their A&P classes. They are over crowded, graded on a curve and the labs are too short and the students outnumber the materials. If you’re looking to major in science for a health care profession I would recommended taking your classes someplace else.
Campuses are well organized and decently sized. Though parking is an issue at EVERY campus. I am not a fan for that specific reason. They rape you with parking fees and or tickets. For fuck sake man. Calm down the parking Nazi’s.

If you are out of work and need to better your situation, PCC is good for you. If you want to improve your health, PCC is cheaper than buying training packages at a gym. I think everyone who is struggling in these hard times should get into school through here and not those other places. Their credits are transferable to all other schools/​universities.

Calling all artists and people who think they’re artists! Art Beat (May 10– 14, 2010) is in session at PCC campuses. It’s open to the public and it’s free. Supposedly parking is free, who knew. There’s dancing, art, music, literature, and theater. For more info check out
