Portland Town Car and Limo

Andrei was wonderful! My significant other and I booked a five hour wine tour with Andrei! Not only was he prompt, friendly and a lot of fun — he also suggested some wineries we hadn’t visited before. We had a wonderful time and it was great not to have to worry about driving after a day of drinking wine. We highly recommend Portland Town Car & Limo.

Regarding this company’s standing on Unilocal: Please note while this company has two excellent reviews (5 star, under the name «Portland Town Car and Limo»), it also has a history of terrible reviews (all 1 star!) under the name «Portland Town Car and Limousine Service». Check it out, the phone numbers match.
Overview: People reserve town cars because they have somewhere that they need to be at a specific time (flights, trains, etc.), and don’t want to leave their schedule up to chance by calling a taxi. I should have known based on the bad reviews («Portland Town Car and Limousine Service») that this service was unreliable and flaky. But I went ahead and made a reservation based on the two glowing reviews. Big mistake! I made my reservation online and the driver Andrei even called to confirm it (and get my credit card info to hold the reservation). He also told me multiple times about the 24 hour cancellation policy and that if I no-​showed or cancelled within that window, my card would be charged $ 50. No problem! I **need** this car, so there is no way that I would cancel. I had to get to Union Station in Portland at a specific time to catch my train home. Luckily, I left myself some buffer room in my schedule.
Price: The quoted price was $ 60, to go less than 5 miles on a Sunday afternoon. That seemed excessive, but I’m from out of town and I needed a ride and didn’t want to risk a cab not being available, or not servicing the area where I needed to be picked up.
The day of: I was scheduled for a 1:40 pm pickup (that gave me roughly an hour to go less than 5 miles and be at the train station a minimum of 30 minutes before my departure). At 1:50 pm, I wondered if Andrei (my driver/​the owner) was just running late and didn’t have the courtesy to call, or had ditched me completely. I called his cell and he had no idea that he was supposed to pick me up, even though I had made my reservation only 3 days before. He didn’t know where to pick me up, so I had to scramble to find the address that I was at. He told me he’d call me back. He called back a few minutes later (1:55 pm) and told me that he would be there in 10 minutes. He did arrive a little more than 10 minutes later (2:05 — 2:10 ish). I got into his car and it reeked of smoke. He drove like a freaking maniac with his eyes mostly on his phone (GPS?). Hey, I want to get to the train station ASAP, but I also want to get there ALIVE! He told me not to worry, the train is sometimes late. Groan. :/​
Payment: The service provided was basically just a stressful, stinky, scary, cab ride. His «generous» discount? $ 10 off the already exorbitant fee of $ 60. So I paid the $ 50 because I didn’t have time to argue and I needed to run to catch my train. What a joke. Do NOT do business with this company!

Andrei is AMAZING!!! We were supposed to go on a 4-​hour wine tour and I had a designated route. Andrei was so amazing that we gave up on every place I had picked up and followed his advice and took a 6-​hour tour. It was an AMAZING time and he took photos of us the entire time. Would hire Andrei again and again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Pretty much smooth as silk. Needed a last minute ride to the airport and everything worked out perfectly. Highly recommend.
