The staff at Porto Terra is the real appeal of this restaurant. I was disappointed by the beef and the Caesar salad was uninspired but seafood and desserts were well prepared. They need a little help in the kitchen but again the wait staff is excellent. Nice booths and good cocktails.

I frequented the bar section of this place while staying at the Hilton Executive Tower. If Gabby is working, you are in for a real treat. Amazing memory, he had my name down in an instant, and remembered it for days/a week after. They get your order right out to you and keep an eye on your drink. Pretty good food, acceptable prices. Gabby should get a raise, best service I’ve ever had. I did eat there for breakfast and that was very tastey. Having this cute little gem in the lobby made my experience that much better.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was elegant and the server, Michael, was very nice and welcoming. 10⁄10 will be returning

This is the breakfast restaurant for the Portland Hilton. They serve lunch and dinner too, but my experience is strictly with the AM service. It’s pretty standard fare, with a buffet option on some days. Fruit, yogurt, granola, oatmeal, or scrambled eggs, sausage, omelettes. On buffet days the baked goods are terrific. Service is good. Food is prepared and brought out fast and the quality is fine. Nothing special or exciting, but just what you need to get the day started.

I went there for lunch and was the only customer. It was expensive but the server was kind, patient and friendly. The restaurant is gorgeous on the inside with an elegant bar. I had not dined at many restaurants in Portland before but this one leaves a lasting impression. The manager was nice enough to introduce himself to me. Usually, you don’t see the manager at all. I ordered a chicken sandwich meal and walked away full. It was a great meal and I enjoyed the setting.

I’ve ordered lunch to go twice. The first time I ordered a half order of the pasta. Had an issue paying because the card machine wasn’t working, so it took the staff member a long time to check me out. The second time I ordered, they said they couldn’t make the pasta a half order, even though I had a month ago. When I arrived to pick up the order I was over charged $ 3, it took the staff member a very very very long time to reconcile the $ 3. By the time she figured it out, the food was cold. A little disorganized with the hostess. Other than that the pasta is always fabulous.

Visiting Oregon showed up 30 minutes before they closed and they said they had already shutdown their kitchen. Horrible customer service. So I asked if we could just have dessert and they said no. sounds lazy to me. Don’t go here if you are looking for a late night meal, dessert or good customer service in the city.

Conveniently located inside the Hilton Executive Tower, Porto Terra serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was there only for the beverages and Happy Hour which occurs between 4&6 p.m. I strongly recommend going during those times as they discount their craft beer, mixed drinks, wine and appetizers. I had the fried vegetable appetizer which was excellent. Lightly tempura battered with just enough salt to add flavor. The veggies seemed fresh and the appetizer almost looked homemade. The bartender was very friendly with some great advice for local cuisine. $ 1.00 off beverages during happy hour. Otherwise it’s a bit pricey.

Huge disappointment. I stopped by for the Wednesday Wine pairing and got really frustrated. For $ 10, I had A SINGLE glass of CHEAP wine(the bottle cost about $ 14 in other stores), for $ 5 for piece of OK cheese, some OLD grape and funny crackers. Nope, Nope, Nope, never no more !

We arrived midafternoon and there was little staff. They were serving at the bar but seated us in the Dining Room as we had MINOR. Our 20 year old daughter. We got the Risotto and the calzone. Both were tasty and well prepared. Once ordered service is pretty quick and we liked the food. Recommend.

Porto Terra offered a three course fixed price dinner for Christmas for $ 37 Among the starters, both the shrimp and the califlower soup were outstanding. The shrimp was perfectly underdone and served with a good remolade and picked asparagus. The four of us tried three of the mains, prime rib, roast pork and lobster truffle ravioli all at lest good with the ravioli exceptional. It was topped with shaved deep fried asparagus! Desert was a fantastic bread pudding with eggnog gelato. Service was fine until the main course was done but then absent for too long a time. My experience is that Holiday dinner isn’t a good time to judge a restaurant but since we all thought this was a very nice experience, Porto Terra must be an exception.

Excellent food and fantastic service. I’ve eaten here alone and with customers and it never disappoints. Don’t let the hotel atmosphere change your mind. Chef here is amazing.

Decent value for a hotel breakfast with a nice intimate setting. The coupon for breakfast gives you $ 15.50 value towards anything on the menu which was handy and covered the basics like continental breakfast or corned beef hash. I had the Rose City Special which essentially was eggs Benedict with crabmeat. Although the hollandaise sauce was a little bland, it went very well with the crabmeat and the rest of the dish. And there was a surprising large amount of crab meat which was great. The potatoes on the other hand were well prepared with onions and some peppers. However there was very little flavor even after adding salt. I had to add a lot of ketchup to give any flavor. Service was very attentive and better than average. Overall experience was a B+.

I threw a birthday dinner for DH recently at Porto Terra in the Hilton Portland. I picked this because of the reviews on Unilocal. We’ve been to quite a few Italian restaurants in town and while good, Porto Terra is not one of the tops. Mostly, meal selections were made from the special dining month menu. A calamari starter was ordered and it was very large — served the whole table — and tasted great. The wine list was unimpressive. The food was actually pretty good. Service was OK. There’s just something about the place — the feeling of corporate bleeds into the authentic Italian.

If I was a regular customer, I would not eat here at the Hilton Portland’s inner restaurant. The full breakfast buffet is $ 19, and it’s not that great! The Doubletree Universal Studios in Orlando(another Hilton chain hotel) had a buffet 4 – 5 times the length of this establishment. I never ate here for dinner, just breakfast. I did have the corned beef hash($ 15 or so), and it really wasn’t a hash. The hash consisted of cut-up corned beef, but it really wasn’t mashed and did not have the consistency of a hash. I was disappointed. The continental breakfast alone is $ 15, which is an outrageous sum. The orange juice is $ 4. Service is okay, but not the greatest. One morning I waited nearly 30 minutes for my food, which is not good at breakfast time, especially when you have to leave for work. The restaurant to me is very small for a hotel restaurant. Forget even bringing in any checked bags next to you because the chairs and tables are too cramped. If you’ve got some sort of hotel credit(breakfast is not completely free for diamond members unlike most Doubletrees or other Hiltons), this place will serve its purpose, but otherwise go elsewhere!

Another symphony night, another fancy restaurant to try out. Tonight we wanted some tasty Italian, so we made a reservation for Porto Terra. We left a little out of place as late-20’s adults when we were surrounded by the elderly. Maybe we’re the minority of the symphony crowd, and it transfers over to fancy dinners, as well(but I digress). We both opted for the pre fixe menu. The tomato basil soup was made with fresh tomatoes, but nothing noteworthy beyond it. B/f’s house salad had some nice fresh mozzerella cheese. My bolognese entrée was pretty tasty, with fresh made pasta and a mix of meat and mushrooms. B/f enjoyed his ribeye, though you can’t really go wrong with steak when it comes to his meal. The dessert was rather disappointing, as what was advertised to be crème brûlée(with the accent) was really just chocolate pudding topped with toasted marshmallows and whipped cream. Especially after trying Brasserie Montmartre’s, it was a rather sad ending to the meal. Service was especially unattentive when it came to getting our check and filling water. We were parched the whole time! At least the manager is funny. Overall, I probably wouldn’t recommend this place. Sorry Porto Terra.

The scallops in risotto were good, but not great. Not enough zest. The beet salad was amazing. Good service.

TRUCKSTOPBREAKFAST While staying at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower, I’m entitled to a complimentary continental breakfast. With $ 4 extra I can pretty much have anything on the buffet line plus any omelet which is large enough to feed two. Huge servings of French toast and pancakes. Absolutely spoiled by our server Brandy a transplant from 808. Brandy… Mahalo nui loa !

Friendly little hotel bar. The Bartenders here always are friendly and have great information about the local beers and cocktails. I like that they have Bulliet, so I can have a Bulliet Ginger to take back to my room at the end of the night. ;)
