The alsatian is a magical experience. I wish I worked further away so I wouldn’t be constantly watching the clock for the moment I can waddle my way down to this cart and inhale another delicious, crispy, creamy, bacon laden miracle of pizza wizardry. Seriously. My groans of ecstasy are beginning to make my coworkers uncomfortable.

I should probably give this four stars because it’s not quite as good as my current downtown fave for thin crust pizza but I can’t help but give them a brilliant review because I had a great little pizza and salad. There are two sizes of caesar salad with a fresh garlic dressing. I got the small and it was this perfect little side of salad in a cup. Plus, the salad was actually chopped well! There are some lazy prep cooks out there that don’t cut up the romaine so you have these really awkward large hunks of lettuce. I had a small(I think 8″) half and half — half margherita and half meat lovers. Both sides were a little greasy but with pesto on one half and pepperoni on the other half you couldn’t expect otherwise. The black pepper sausage on the meat lover side was as good as it sounds — I’d totally get just that with onions and peppers if I could. It’s even sliced and I prefer ground. The margherita was fresh and had a great flavor. The best part of all was that the crust was nice and crisp. It even held up with a teensy bit of microwaving to heat it up for dinner and while it didn’t crunch, it had a crispier texture than most pizzas manage as leftovers. The owner(I assume) was fantastic and the prices were quite good. I’m totally a fan and will be back. If it weren’t so awkward to cart around a larger pizza and the time for the commute, I’d totally take one for dinner.

Love at first bite! I had the white mushroom truffle and the chicken, bacon pizza. It was really delicious!!! The white mushroom truffle was my favorite. If you like thin and crispy crusts, you will enjoy it. Great flavor, great customer service. Mahalo Annabelle!

I only like pizza with tomato sauce. Who knew that a pizza made with goat cheese, pepperoni, spices and a bit of jam would be the best I’ve had. Not a speck of tomato anywhere. I will definitely be back. This is from the 28 Ave pod.

I thought I would browse the food trucks before work today… I decided on Pulehu and I was very pleased. This pizza is amazing! I ordered the Bacon cheddar chicken pizza, but they were out of cheddar so they replaced it with Muenster.(No complaints here) It was delicious! The customer service was also very awesome.

Ran across this cart walking downtown. Getting past that these food«trucks» don’t go anywhere, I chose this one. Glad I did. The Meat lovers was good, but the Alsatian was my favourite. A different take on what I am used to but the one I will prefer when next I go. The crust is thin and almost cracker crispy.

Good pie, got the meat lovers. When they say«garlic sausage», they aren’t kidding. Very nice. Honestly I’d prefer a heavier tomato sauce option, which I didn’t see on the menu, but that’s my personal preference and not tainting this review. I ordered it medium-well, and what came out was more on the medium-rare side. Next time I will be specific in asking for some serious char. Otherwise, at $ 7, the personal pie was very nice, and loaded with meat and cheese. I shared it with my neighbor who went bonkers when he learned our closest pod now has pizza and gyro(both good).

1st time in Portland and needed to check-out the food cart scene. Came across Pulehu Pizza and decided to give it a try. Made the right decision! Ordered a Truffle Mushroom and a Pepperoni pizza to share with some friends. We all LOVED both pizzas, the thin crust was crisp, and the ingredients were as fresh as can be. It was so good, we came back the following day for more before heading back to the Bay Area. Thanks Anabelle & Pierre for creating the perfect thin crust pizza!!!

This is my new go to place for a good pie. Other places downtown are cool for a slice. This isn’t a slice place. This is a prepare yourself for satisfaction kinda place.

If you are looking to just grab an ordinary slice of pizza on the go, this is not your place. However, if you have high standards for food and expect something special from a Portland food cart, Pulehu Pizza has the«je né c’est quoi» that results in gourmet pizza sure to please. With top quality, fresh ingredients, a refreshing selection of flavor combinations, and friendly service, it is one of my favorite food carts in Portland.

We had the Alsatian pizza with pancetta! It was pretty good — it was creamy and the pancetta was delicious. The only thing was that it was sort of small and the crust too thin, and it took awhile– It is sort of a bummer when you get the pizza and by the time you get to a warm place to eat it, its already cold :(But this place would be so lovely during the summer time!

freaking delicious pizza… from Maui… in Portland!!! got Half Alsatian(A sour cream base topped by shaved onions, bacon & St Necataire Cheese), and Half truffle(Freshly sautéed baby bella Mushrooms, fresh Garlic, Ricotta cheese, White Truffle Oil & fresh cracked Black Pepper). the crust was not too thick, with crunch and chew. the char on the edges was just right, and the quality of the toppings were delicious! its too bad they’re not actually in Hawaii… i’d eat their pizza all the time if they were! my friend and i attacked this pizza pretty quickly. it was definitely one of the highlights of visiting Portland. got to also try a Portland original: canned Shirley Temple soda. its good! Annabelle(one of the the owners) was super nice, and you can tell she loves what she does. we chatted with her a little bit about«why is there a HI based pizza truck all the way over here in Oregon». give them a visit if you get the chance! check their website for current hours and location.

Quick service. They make the pizza fresh. The crust was a little thin for me, but my fiancé enjoyed it.

Excellent service and pizza. We ordered, twice, the truffle pizza. Incredible flavor! It is thin crust pizza. It is run by a husband and wife. The wife is from Hawaii and the husband fro France and was trained as a chef in Vancouver. The result is a gourmet pizza cooked in a Hawaiian style BBQ type oven. All pizzas looked fantastic.

Pierre and Annebelle brought their concept of grilled pizza from Maui — «pulehu» being a slang term for«grill.» The dough is made from scratch and the ingredients are fresh. Pizzas come in 8″ and 12″ sizes. I went with their New York Steak pizza($ 9 for 8″; $ 19 for 12″). New York steak is seasoned, grilled, and sliced. The dough is tossed on the grill, then gets a Blue Cheese and Madeira wine sauce. Mozzarella, fresh tomato, garlic, and the sliced steak get added on top. This was an awesome pizza. Juicy, well-seasoned steak. Just a slight bite from the blue cheese. The thin crust had a wonderful crispiness to it. I folded my pizza slices and devoured them in a couple bites. The tomato added some sweetness and contributed to a lovely presentation. I’d also consider the Truffle Mushroom pizza($ 8 for 8″; $ 17 for 12″), which has mushrooms, Grana Padano cheese, garlic, truffle oil, and cracked black pepper. Traditional pizza fans can get the standard cheese, pepperoni, or Margherita pizza options here. They are currently open for lunch on the weekdays, plus late-night service on Fridays and Saturdays. If you’d like Pulehu Pizza to open at other times, let them know in advance and they’ll try to make it happen. Head to this food cart!

The dough and execution on the grill strikes a perfect balance between crispy with a bit of stretchy doughyness still left, and there was never any soggyness in any piece I sampled. The Shepherd’s Grain flour they use for the dough, and sourcing some cheese(if not their homemade ricotta) from Steve’s Cheese Bar or meat from Tails and Trotters speaks to their high quality ingredients that also support other local businesses. Pulehu also plans to explore curing their own meats as well. Everyone I saw seemed to swoon when they bit into this Cheddar, Chicken, Bacon pizza with a generous dollop of sour cream and sprinkle of green onions. The Meat Lovers with pepperoni, sausage, garlic, and grana padano was a big hit and really does celebrate the meat because seriously, this is a lot of meat! I can barely see the pizza. The Pulehu Steak Pizza with grilled steak, tomato, garlic, shaft blue cheese and madeira wine sauce was heavenly high quality ingredients, fine dining stuff. At first, the idea of a dessert pizza sounded bizarre to me. But, I had to admit they looked so delicate and beautiful. And then I put a slice in my mouth and it was so light and refreshing that I thought this was«healthy» and made up for the cheesy pizza bites I had earlier, and see I was getting fruit into my diet! I need another slice! Seriously, this is better than many many desserts I have had at restaurants. The Strawberries & Crème Pizza with meyer lemon zest and mint… Love. L O V E
