²⁄₅ stars and more like 1.5÷5 stars based strictly on their food, their Beer may make it a higher score in some people’s eyes but I didn’t have any. I got the tap room burger, add blue cheese. First of all, all the food is over priced. Basic burger with no cheese starts at $ 11.25? Really? You can add toppings for $ 1 a piece and bacon for $ 2. $ 2 for 2 slices of bacon??? You can buy a whole pound for $ 5. I understand making money but that’s just ridiculous. Never mind the prices, I had to ask for a refill on my water 3 separate times when the 2 different waitresses asked «is there anything else I can get for you» as my empty glass sit there. The waitress asked how my brother and I wanted our burgers, I said medium. We both got extremely well done burgers. We would have asked for them to be remade but we were both in a hurry to get back to work. The flavor of the ingredients are the only thing stopping me from leaving 1 star, they tasted fresh and were very proportionate to the burger. I normally wouldn’t complain about how my burger is cooked, as long as I wasn’t asked. When they ask me how I want it cooked, then bring it another way, that changes things.
Needless to say, I won’t be going back unless they lower their prices, in which case I would give them another shot. I had heard really good things about this place and am very disappointed in what I paid for.

This is a place that you really have to want to go to, to actually get to it. It’s not nearby anything else of note — unless you work in a tile or metal warehouse in the area — and the brand is a more corporate-​oriented operation, so a lot of beer geeks may not exactl be inclined to make this trip unless they’ve got ample time to spend in Portland.
That said — and since I do work in a nearby tile warehouse — I’ve been able to have lunch here a few times and it’s not a terrible place by any stretch. The roads are rough and the scenery isn’t spectacular (well, it is once you get past the barbed-​wire fences and potholed asphalt, since the hills of the park are right up the street) but the brewery is in great shape, standing out a bit. Tall chimneys for the large traditional copper kettles dominate the approach and entry, with an airy open bar and outdoor seating entry seperating the rest of the main dining area. Several meeting and conference-​sized rooms can be found through some doors at the rear, leading to some other hallways and the bathrooms. It was designed with large gatherings in mind, clearly, and a resturant happened to fit in between those rooms and the brewery.
The menu is solid, but a bit pricey — easily $ 20+pp after entrée, drinks and a tip. The beer can be had much cheaper at the local store ($ 3/​22oz bomber vs $ 5/​12oz draw), so with that in mind this establishment is aimed at the similar offerings from Widmer, Bridgeport, FatHead and Deschutes, all offering similar menus at similar price points. The real difference is location and beer selection. If you have the time, it’s an okay stop for a more mid-​scale lunch and pint, with a large outdoor area and nice setting… but consider your time and budget before putting this on the schedule. You can try most of the beers on hand at the brewery, in bottle form from the store, for the price of one lunch at the taproom…
At least it’s not a dive. I can’t speak to overall service, in the afternoon when Ivisit it’s pretty slow so I have no problem getting in and out for a late lunch. Isuppose if I had a large expense account and wanted to take some folks to a spot that wasn’t directl;y downtown, this would be a great candidate. Someone whouldd give me an expense account so I can find out…

I had lunch with a friend at Pyramid Brewing Company. I had the Ruben with fries and diet coke. The server was very nice and did a great job keeping our drinks filled and getting our food out to our table.
This is, by far, the best place in the NW Vaughn/​Nikoli part of town to have a drink at happy hour (lots of choices) or have a business lunch (great food choices and professional staff).
Oh, and they have brewery tours on Saturdays!

Mediocre at best. The chicken tacos tasted like fake butter and our service was friendly, but mediocre. The happy hour was affordable but it seemed almost like a glorified version of Applebees as far as food and service. I wasn’t looking for 5 star service, but it’s not that hard to understand a French accent. Half our language is French. My guests were a little perturbed by how rushed the service was. Not very charming for a pub house or brewery.

Your hefe is wonderful but you may want make sure claimjumpers on Sunnyside isn’t distributing some other alcoholic beverage as it. Here is a copy of our recent review:
My husband and I came here for our first date night in months after being told this place was very good a couple weeks ago. We were not impressed. Food was expensive and did not taste great at all. My husband ordered a Pyramid Hefeweizen and when the waiter brought it to the table he tasted it and said this tastes weird. I tasted it and knew immediately it was not what he ordered. I hate the flavor of beer and it was not a beer, it was some sort of lemon cider. We told the waiter that it was not a Hefeweizen that it was too lemony and cidery and he insisted it was and he watched the girl pour it. Fast forward to tonight, my husband purchased the Pyramid Hefeweizen to see if it was the same. It was NOT. Very disappointed in the service we received and the fact that the waiter questioned my husband when he said his drink was not right and didn’t replace it.

Discovered the place by accident. There is absolutely no sign to tell you that there is brewery and restaurant in this industrial area. We had beer and food there. The beer was 5 stars for both the Hefeweisen and Amber Lager we tried. Good thing right for a brewery. But the food was so so. My garlic fries were extremely garlicky. They may have confused two head of garlic with two cloves of garlick. I removed most of it from the fries but still was not enough. My breath was toxic for 2 days after that. On the other hand, the fried fish was good and so was the beer chicken. So, definitely have a beer there, but maybe not the fries.

Was recently at an event here, and although it was a little out of the way, the beers were delicious and the service was beyond gracious. We will definitely find a reason to come back!

On my latest trip to Portland we parked in the downtown metro area and walked everywhere. After Hours of walking around and having a grand ol’ time I reccomended that we go to the Pyramid Brewery for some beer and food because we hadn’t had lunch yet and it was about 2 in the afternoon. We decided to walk everywhere so we could see all that Portland has to offer (which by the way, was an ugly 2.5 mile walk through the industrial district.)
We get to the brewery, only to be told by the hostess that someone has booked them for an event for the day and we wouldn’t be able to be seated. it was a very disappointing day. Maybe they could have advertised somewhere that they weren’t going to be open to the public for that day so I didn’t waste my time going there. At least I’m only from Washington and live 2 hours away and can easily come back (not happening) whenever I want.
I’m not mad. Im just disappointed.

I had a real hard time here as a vegan, and ultimately requested a big salad with just vegetables. What I got was a Cobb salad complete with cheese, bacon, and egg. They took that away and came back quickly with some mixed greens with cucumber, and halved cherry tomatoes. Unfortunately, there was salmon on the tomatoes. They didn’t charge me for my meal. My husband thought his burger was really good, and my son’s Scortish pie was also really good.

Enjoyed the ambiance and the drinks.

Pyramid is kind of the underdog of Portland breweries. Lets face it, Portland has some of the best brewpubs on the entire effing planet, and in some cases their prices kind of reflect that. At the same time, I also believe that to an extent you get what you pay for. Rogue, Hopworks, Hair of the Dog and Deschutes… you know what youre getting with all of these and theyre probably the go-to’s but theyre also kind of the establishment. Don’t EVEN get me started on McMenamins which is the McDonalds of Oregon…
But this is about Pyramid/​Mactarnahans/​Portland brewing as its re-​become. I have a group of friends who are convinced that Pyramid is the ‘dirt brewery’ of Portland. To be fair, not all their beers are the ‘best’ of their particular style. That apricot beer is kind of ass but Im no fan of fruity beers… so there’s that. Their bombers can be had for WELL under $ 3 so there might be this perception of cheap=crap. But I believe there are good deals to be had.
For one, Im not a huge Hefewiezen fan but I do get in the mood. Widmer’s is just ok in my book but Pyramid’s kicks it in the ballz. In fact for my money you have to get something from Germany to beat it. My naysayer friends critize Pyramid for using the same yeast in all their beers making them taste the same. To an extent theres truth to that but that yeast works AMAZING in a Heffy. And the Blackwatch Porter. And Mactarnahans. And the Imperial IPA… and the black IPA.
And the food here is consistently very good. I cant say Ive ever had a bad meal here but Id avoid the hummus. In fact on that note, avoid the hummus at ANY bar. I know its considered bar food in the NW, but go to a good Lebanese place and call it good.
If youre out for the ‘best brewery in Portland’ then Pyramid may not make that grade, exactly. But on the bang for the buck scale you cant go wrong. OH… and 2 for 1 growlers on Friday, and that goes for anything on tap! Imperials/​bourbon barrels/​seasonals be damned, its open season! You wont soon beat that deal!

I’m not a beer person, BUT I am a «let’s drink something really girly» person. Luckily for me this brewpub carries cider (YUM!). The raspberry cider is absolutely delicious and makes me want to explore all breweries just for cider…
The flavor was very light, but present!
I recommend this little cider for anyone that got dragged to a brewery by so-​called friends ;)
Also, through my so-​called friends, my fiancé and I were able to get a private tour. It’s pretty amazing how much science is behind making beer! They have some pretty awesome looking copper brew kettles! GIANT, can’t miss ‘em…

This review is only for the beer.
We were here for beer tasting and let me tell you that it was well worth the price. We had eaten right before we got here, so we did not get a chance to try the appetizers. However, the beer tasting was $ 8 for 5 8oz cups of beer. Yummy selection. Everyone has got to try the chai beer!

The restaurant is a little off the beaten path, but it’s a really nice place and worth the confusing directions. They have a really great outside deck, covered, for Oregon’s temperamental weather.
We have a blast answering random questions while drinking brew and eating happy hour nosh. The garlic fries are fantastic, but don’t eat them on a date. They stick with you.
The beers they brew are fantastic as well.
We plan to start up a Trivia team and continue to go on Wednesday nights, for dinner, drinks and our chance to win $ 20 in Pyramid bucks.

Freaking DELICIOUS: OUTBURST imperial IPA. Dry hopped India Pale Ale. OMG. yes.

Their two for one growlers on Fridays leaves me fulfilled for the week. Two growlers for $ 8. How is this possible? For the love of their apricot beer and ciders, I know not but absolutely want to leave well enough alone. But only as long as it takes to refill my cider. It’s not Pyramid’s brew, but it’s great.
The husband loves their darker beers aged in bourbon barrels.
One of the bartenders is always in a great mood and happy to keep us up-​to-​date on the brewmaster’s inventions. I appreciate it.

This is one of my favorite places in NW Portland! I’m not a beer drinker, but they have fantastic wine and I absolutely love the raspberry hard cider, apple hard cider and apricot pale ale. The restaurant is cozy and beautiful, makes you feel at home in a little pub, but much more roomy! Cost is appropriate.
Can’t ever get enough of garlic rosemary fries! Garlic! And Rosemary! Mmmm…
Happy Hour food is great too, good little plates for quick bites with your brews!
Oh and Growlers are $ 8 to refill. And Fridays… it’s refill two for the same price as one!

My first time to Pyramid’s brewery and the industrial part of town was to take my OLCC permit class. Yes I know it’s the industrial section but I never expected to see such a nice building set amongst a sea of warehouses. Inside the brewery offers a comfortable dining area, bar and an outside patio complete with heaters for late night chilling. They do offer tours of the facility but those change seasonally so I would suggest calling first. There’s also a lunch and dinner menu but I have never eaten there, instead my focus was passing a test so I could celebrate serving alcohol by drinking it. The staff was very friendly and even told me they would comp me a drink after my test.
Unfortunately for me our class was outside on the patio during winter and the heaters weren’t much help sitting 6ft above my head. All I could think about was my frozen feet and how a few tasty beers might warm me up. This of course caused constant distraction from learning about how not to serve 16 year old girls with fake ID’s and giving very intoxicated people (VIP’s) doubles before last call. However the thought of sipping on one of their tasty wheat or super snow cap ales afterwards pushed my focus and motivation. My beer infatuation was evident not only by my passing grade but my expedience through their maze test which simulates an alcohol limit of .30! While I don’t suggest testing your limits I do recommend testing the waters and taking a drive to check out Pyramid Brewery.

I came in on a lovely Saturday afternoon with my entourage. I wasn’t in the mood for drinking a lot since I was stuffed from a hearty meal prior to our visit. I had my favorite — Apricot Ale. I just had a pint of beer which is normally about $ 5, but for HH it’s $ 3.50. My buddies had their 6 beer sampler and during happy hour that was about $ 12−13-ish.
Overall, I would come back for the beer!
