good food, I had the thunder burger, big as hell and comes with fries! a little high price but I’m paying for quality. very good place to watch sports. the female server Danny was nice and helpful. being a small business owner myself I try not to look for all the negative stuff with a business, these guys are doing a good job and hopefully will be found by more of us.

Decided to check this place out with my boyfriend, hoping that we could get something good out of this place. First of all, I understand that this place is barbecue AND burgers, but for the barbecue part there should be more options instead of just a smoked brisket basket and pulled pork. If you’re going to have barbecue options as well, maybe add a half rack of ribs, a full rack of ribs, and some barbecued chicken. So, my boyfriend ended up ordering the 5 Alarm burger, which he was highly disappointed with. The description for the burger said it included pepperjack cheese, ghost pepper sauce, and jalapenos. He only got 1 out of 3 of those things on his burger, the sauce ended up being regular barbecue sauce, and the cheese got replaced with swiss cheese. Overall, he was disappointed with his little surprises in the burger. One would think that if it says 5 Alarm, then it must really BE5 alarm. The burger I got was the Sunrise burger. Now, the trick with this burger is that it’s a sandwich, not a burger at all,(which mislead me a lot). This sandwich(as the description states on the menu chalkboard) has ham, bacon, a fried egg, and cheese. Sounded pretty good to me. I get the sandwich and little did I know, there’s no beef patty. I was alright with that but a little thrown off, in place of the beef is the ham(as stated on the menu), but the ham wasn’t what I expected either. It was 6 – 9 pieces of what looked like store bought lunch meat, I was not impressed especially since I could’ve made this sandwich myself. I figure if you’re going to have ham as the main meat on a sandwich, use REAL ham, not quickly fry up some lunch meat and slap it on a bun. The rest of the burger was good except for the ham part, I even ordered mushrooms on the sandwich and they were exquisite. Fries came with our meals and I was a little disappointed since they weren’t very hot. I always order no salt on mine for this particular reason and even without salt, mine were lukewarm. As well as my boyfriend’s fries, even though he had salt on his. We’re giving this eatery 2⁄10.

The peanut butter bacon burger is delicious. Their fries are a nice light crisp and perfect seasoning. I’m excited to try their BBQ next time I stop in. Plus, I love the fact it’s right across the street. I’m going to agree with the other review that the staff is not the friendliest.

I showed up with my kids(ages 13 and 9) on a weekday evening. We ordered two hamburgers(with fries), the BBQ nachos and two root beer floats. The food was remarkably mediocre. The pulled pork(supposedly their claim to fame) tasted cheap and the only BBQ sauce available is more corn syrup than tomatoes and barely spicy at all. Even though the restaurant was mostly empty, we waited a while for food. The two women who were waiting tables were friendly but looked like they were just waiting to go home. I had to remind them we’d asked for water at the table. When I wanted a refill, I had to get up and ask for it. You are supposed to bus your own tables. When we went to do so, we found the only available trash can overflowing.

Interesting… My detailed review would look like this: Burger = 5 Star Restaurant = 3 Star Staff = 1 Star OK, so how do I rate the restaurant overall? As you can see I was pleased with the burger. It was a great tasting burger. One of the best.(I’m sure one of the highest calorie counts I’ve had in a long time, but even then, high marks for the burger. Restaurant is old and worn. Many TV’s for viewing sporting events. Staff is abrupt and cranky. I witnessed a man sitting at a table near by, go to the counter and ask if he could get a refill on his drink. With great attitude, I heard the staff say, yeah, but I’ll charge your for it. Maybe I’m not being fair, but when you pay $ 12 for a burger you would think a refill would be an easy fix. Even if they had handled it better, rather than with such a nasty attitude. Oh well… I don’t know if I’ll ever try them again. They are convenient to the office, but I really don’t like poor help.

Awesome burger for cheap. Go there you won’t be disappointed. People seem to be complaining about attitude of the workers but they are always nice to me, and I’m there to eat not make friends.

This is a tasty burger! Sure, the first time I went(Sept) I wasn’t impressed. The NOLA burger was ok and the server was blah. However, the 2nd visit, a man who walked-the-walked of an owner/manger took my order. I noticed the 5 Alarm Burger, which he expounded upon; touting the Ghost Pepper sauce he just freshly made. I was sold, and have been ever since. The 3rd and 4th visit, the lady behind the counter was great! And today the young lady behind the counter was equally friendly, inviting and personable. It is safe to say this place has the kinks worked out, the service dialed-in, and the burgers… well, let’s just say I am writing this review in order to help keep this establishment in the neighborhood. Did I mention beer, cocktails, sports on the TVs, old-school arcade games? This place is 2nd only to Tilt, as far as burgers in North Portland.

The food is delicious! The customer service isn’t the absolute best, but for a place like this that isn’t really an expectation. The service isn’t bad, you just don’t have a cheerleader serving your food. You can choose from many different toppings for no additional cost, and there are nice TV’s around the entire restaurant playing sports!

I agree with Tina but the food is very good. The workers not so upbeat for some reason. But I do love the fact you have a good variety of toppings for your burger. Fries are not that amazing needed a bit more love.

While the food is great the Customer Service received by the Manager Jamie was horrible. I will not be spend anymore of my money with them. It takes more than great food to make a great business!
