There comes a point in your life where you have to admit to yourself that you just don’t have the time or energy to cook the great meals or throw the dinner parties you used to. I had to admit that once I had a baby last year. I mean, I COULD, but I’m so tired, and also I’m just NOTNEARLY as good as Chef Rachel Lori. Rachel was recommended through friends, and I’m so grateful. I’ve hired Rachel to cater holidays, parties, and make food to stock the fridge when family was visiting. Were she not so affordable and down-to-earth(ie someone I actually like having in my house), and were her food not so delicious and healthy, I’d feel like a spoiled jerk for doing it. But let me tell you — don’t feel guilty. She cooked my family Thanksgiving. Thinking about the perfect turkey, decadent pies and bourbon-infused stuffing is honestly making my mouth water. She catered a baby shower at my house with this amazing gourmet-but-not-pretentious ‘picnic menu’ of gorgeous sliders, pulled pork sandwiches, salads and desserts. She prepared meals from my organic CSA box that I had in my fridge for a week — salads and proteins that my family and I could mix and match from for ease over the holidays.(Way easier than ‘where do we all agree to order from?)
