The food was delicious and fresh, great coffee and I love Dave’s Killer Bread. The people here are the best! With the great funky vintage store-café set up it is like going to Grandma’s for breakfast, without any of the family drama.

I’m giving this five stars mainly because of the location. To my knowledge it is one of the only places that serves stumptown coffee and has some veggie and vegan options(not that i care about that, bring on the bacon). past 82nd ave! I have to admit that I only got a coffee but it was good and the menu looked pretty decent too. The whole place is just bizarre. They sell vintage furniture as well as having it for seating. I was almost a little confused on where customers were suppose to sit, as many of the stuff that was for sale, looked like the tables for food customers. Anyway, they have wi-fi, stumptown, daves killer bread and are even past 92nd ave, which is highly impressive on it’s own.

I decided to give this three stars not because it is actually three stars but because its more like 3.2 like one of the other Unilocalers had said. I just rounded down. This place is located in the old Hoppers right next to the auto glass business. It has seating all over the place and it is all for sale. Yes… the seats and table you are eating at is for sale. Reference the pics. Ordered the ham and havarti on croissant. It came open faced and looked like the croissant was ripped open rather than sliced. Good amount of ham came on it and the havarti was flavorful and to my surprise there was apple butter on it as well. Let me tell you right now… i would have never put apple butter on a ham and cheese… but im glad as hell she did!!! It gave it just enough sweet to counter the salty ham and compliment the creamy havarti. It was just the sammich and a tiny pickle cut in half for 8 $. An 8 $ sammich — this is not. I used the 25% off lunch item coupon on Unilocal and it made my sammich 6 $. A 6 $ sammich — it is not. It more like a 4 dollar item. For 8 $ i expect atleast a bag of chips with it. No seriously. i do. For that $ i’d much rather head to build your own sammich chain… atleast i know its gonna be five bucks amd i can buy a water and chips for less than $ 8 I probably wont go back. It just sucks that«elite 11» people actually gave this place good reviews… but then again theyre the kinda people that bitch about the cost of clove cigs and when a place runs out of pabst… Srsly people… shape up on the reviews… you let me down on this one BIGTIME!

This place is a gem. Especially if you know how boring and ghetto Outer SE can be. If you didn’t know any better you wouldn’t know this place exist, situated right next to Speedy Glass and a random auto body shop, which is probably why I did pass it by so many times. But I finally stopped in! Let’s see, free wi-fi, gluten free foods, stumptown coffee, dave’s killer bread, and various tasty pastries all at an affordable price with friendly service. Outdoor seating is minimal but they have a table, inside is cozy and plentiful. The staff were super friendly and the service was fairly fast. Overall, a great find!

Funky and yummy and friendly. That’s what this place offers. The owner is a terrific cook on top of that. Waltzed in for a bite and she was pulling a vegetarian lasagna out of the oven. Hello??? Got that and a side of salad with their very own homemade salad dressings. Had me some stumptown coffee as well. Also, grabbed a small jar of fresh watercress pesto so I can take home and use it on some pasta at a later date. Hubby saw a neat old magazine stand as well as an air fern he just had to have. They also have free wifi. It’s like a one stop shopping place. Oh they are closed on Sunday. I changed the business info on Unilocal but it might take a day or so.

Just found this place on a gluten-free website and it was delish! Plus, they are knowledgeable about GF cooking so I was able to relax, which is rare for me. Had the pumpkin seed french toast which was wonderful. Very interesting place with antiques, art, etc. Also sells Stumptown coffee. Food was cooked from scratch and was very flavorful and nourishing. It’s an eclectic place with a dance floor that would be great for gatherings, meetings, etc. I really loved the food and atmosphere of this café and plan to go back frequently. Also reasonable prices.

This is… 1) one of the oddest places I have visited in a while, but 2) also one of my favorite new discoveries in my neighborhood. First of all, breakfast and thrift stores with retro/vintage finds are 2 of my favorite things in the world. Secondly, I am a sucker for anyplace that serves Dave’s Killer Bread and Stumptown coffee… so, I was an easy sell on this place. AND, they make a darn good breakfast for a reasonable price. The seating area could definitely be a bit more cozy, but it still gives you the feeling of being at home and having a homecooked breakfast that, surprise, you don’t have to make! Plus, you can enjoy the self serve Stumptown while you browse for interesting retro household goods, which I found to be competatively priced, especially compared to some similar establishments in closer in SE. Also, their is more room to browse and wander than in other similar places, since the items are spread out nicely and you don’t have to literally dig to find what you want and/or miss out on the perfect item because you can’t see past all the other crap around it. Service was friendly and quick(as quick as 1 person taking orders, cooking, and serving can be) and we were the only customers there at 8:30 on a Thursday, although a biker was coming in as we were leaving. Bonuses: 70s music playing(just like from the record player growing up!) and homemade jams and marmalade. This is probably the only establishment that offers quite a selection(if at all) of vegan, veggie, and gluten-free options. For those of you who aren’t into these option, don’t let it fool you: they have plenty of meat, eggs, and other hearty traditional options, which are always what call to me. Here’s the website: (The website is still titled Bourgeois Z Vintage the old name/establishment, but it does list Raven’s Roost café. The menu isn’t 100% up to date, but gives you an idea of the food offerings) I can’t wait to come back!

Ravens Roost Café is a strange place. They sell air plants, framed and mounted butterflies, retro furniture, and brick-a-brack; some of it intriguing and some of it not. But while you’re waking around the place alternating between«Oh, that’s cool…», and«What the heck…, you can order some really lovely eats. They have a nice breakfast menu that features, not only the regular fare, but quite a nice vegetarian selection as well. Stumptown coffee, fresh bagels, homemade jams and beautiful fresh pastries from Marsee bakery are Ravens Roost staples. Robin, the owner, told us the Dave(Killer bread Dave) was driving past one day, saw the big Dave’s Killer Bread sign in front of the place, hung a U-turn and dropped in for lunch. The moment is memorialized in a photograph next to the counter. So while the place is definitely on the funky side of the culinary tacks, the food is great and the people are warm and friendly. Better drop by by soon before all the other Portland hipsters find the place. Ravens Roost is closed Thanksgiving weekend.
