Rite Aid

Prescriptions are NEVER ready when I show up. I only use this pharmacy because it’s near my office. I don’t think I’ll bother again.

My father could be dead now if I didn’t check the medication this pharmacists gave him. Of the 5 times I have used this riteaid pharmacy, they have been very wrong 4 times. With so many elderly people in the Hollywood District and without anyone to look out for them, I wonder how many are paying the price for the pharmacist’s incompetence and uncaring attitude.
Not only did they replace the refill of one medication with a double of an already filled medication, which would have had my father taking twice his doctor perscribed daily amount if I hadn’t caught it, but then he had the audacity to say it was no ones fault! Oh really?!! Between not filling an entire perscription and not telling the elderly patient and then refilling the wrong perscription and again NOT TELLING THE PATIENT, which my father can’t get a refund for since its medication, we will be taking his almost $ 200 a month business somewhere else. Do not use this Riteaid pharmacy.

This Rite-​Aid heavily benefits from it’s downtown location. They sell plenty of household staples including food, medicine, and office supplies. It is more spacious than it may appear since each half of the store seems hidden when you are in the opposite half. Soda is pricier but candy is very inexpensive.
I went here in order to get a stick of gum. As I looked around, soda was again expensive and headphones were par for the course. The line in buying the gum was slow, but eventually they added two cashiers halfway during the wait. The gum was only about $ 1.20.
This is a convenient place to stop if your missing something fairly basic.

Located in the heart of the city this location has everything you’d expect from the chain. We were able to find the medicine we were looking for and staff was friendly. The pricing was comparable to other locations too which was nice.
Overall: A — decent stop if you need a convenience store.

The pharmacy staff is very prompt, kind and organized, but the rest of the store is dirty.

Sooo surprised by the excellent service I received today. I never shop at Rite-​Aid because I’m honestly never near one. This is a convenient little shop downtown near Pioneer Courthouse Square and Payless Shoe Source.
I came in here with the plan to buy something but I didn’t know where it was. I asked an associate and she was kind enough to lead me in the right direction. She even inquired whether I have their wellness card to save even more. They also now have a new loyalty program (Plenti) that they’re also announcing to customers as well. Apparently the two link together. I have Plenti, but didn’t have a wellness card. Just inputting my phone number at checkout still got me the savings! If I had neither, the associate was prepared to get me set up. She had an iPad handy to sign me up for their program. I definitely think it’s an interesting approach, but a great way to get your customers back. It was awesome she had a smile on her face the entire time and I could tell she wanted me to have a successful visit.
Because of this great first experience, I do plan to come back for any of my needs while downtown.

Its a rite aid, not much more to say. The prices ranged from reasonable to typical downtown location mark up.

This Rite Aid has saved me a number of times when I used to work in Pioneer Place Mall. I don’t stop in quite as often as I used to these days, but even so I never have a bad experience.
It is great that they have a Rite Aid right downtown. I always find what I need quickly because this location is a bit smaller than some of the others. This store is right near the Pioneer Courthouse Square Max Station. So you can hop off the train, grab what you need, then hop back on the next train.
Any time I have been faced with a line at the register they always call up another cashier to help out. I was super impressed when I went in the other day and ONE cashier was running TWO registers. He had some mad register skills!

Most painful prescription refill process ever. Took multiple trips, long lines and rude pharmacists to fill two simple monthly prescriptions. I will not be going back, the location is convenient but the hassle far out ways the perk of being next door to work.

Little of everything you need in one place right in town. Friendly service, greeted upon entry. Don’t forget to register for the Rite Aid card to get the sale prices (registration takes next to nothing in terms of time).

You know that feeling when you are leaving to go on a trip and you feel like you are forgetting something? For me it was my hairbrush, so with wild woman hair I made my way over to Rite Aid which was close to the hotel.
I was a bit thrown off by the multiple entrances, but found my way over to the comestics/​beauty department and found what I needed. Affordable and easy, in and out and on my way to brushed hair.
Thank you Rite Aid for taming this wild woman, well… maybe just for the moment.

Who has two thumbs and is writing a review for a drugstore? I’ll give you one guess.
If you value your privacy, this is the place to go. Sure, there may be a number of cameras on you, but you’re unlikely to run into overly-​cheery sales associates offering to help you find whatever personal item (s) you need. Seriously, the staff are too busy keeping an eye on who and what is coming in the entrance.
Pros:
* Open later than the Pearl District store
* Well stocked
* Cashiers have seen it all. No judgment here
* Great people watching (is this a con?)
Cons:
* Aforementioned privacy also means not having loads of staff around. Unfortunately this can lead to a slow checkout line
* Street parking/​meter enforced until 7PM

Not the greatest drugstore in the world, but this location gets the job done. Mostly.

I go to this particular Rite Aid quite frequently for either last minute toiletry needs or prescription pick ups, and have had a fairly positive experience every time. I’ve been to a lot of Rite Aids, and drug store chains in general, and this Rite Aid in particular has been the most efficient one of them all. I receive automated calls from them when my prescriptions are ready, and when I stop by to pick up said prescription, there usually isn’t a line, or just a very short one, and the pharmacists are ready and quick. I’ve never had to deal with dilly-​dallying here, as I have at other Rite Aids/​drug stores. They offer a lot of my staple toiletries: spf daily lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. The cashier’s here are extremely friendly as well. I’m pretty sure someone always says goodbye to me whenever I’m walking out the door.
This Rite Aid location is also deceivingly large. It’s like they combined to separate office spaces. It works well though, since I think they just ended up expanding their junk food aisles. Yes, this store is definitely heavy on the soda and chips, but it’s a downtown location, so that is expected. I guess my one criticism would be that they need to expand their Essie/​OPI selection, a girl can dream.

I usually get what I need. Almost all of the staff is amazing. Great location (several blocks from my house).

Rite Aid is literally one of the most disgusting poorly serviced businesses I have ever had the displeasure of patronizing. Going to Rite Aid to pick up a prescription is an ordeal against incompetent pharmacists who forget to call insurances, struggle to remember pick up times, and mischarge you consistently.
The last time I picked up my prescription they charged me the full price of my medication. When I pointed out this was wrong, that I had always come here for my prescription and that I am clearly insured, they bumbled and hemmed and hawed but insisted on charging me the full price if I wanted it the same day.
Weeks later I get a garbled phone call where, as usual, I am called by a wrong name. It insisted I come pick something up. I had to listen several times to understand that it was not a prescription that required a pick-​up, but a refund — for $ 4. $ 4 on my prescription which I had insisted at the time my insurance was covering. The woman was not cordial in inviting me to pick up my refund which should have never existed in the first place (they should have just KNOWN and REMEMBERED I have insurance on file). She was rude and insisted I come within a limited amount of days before they refused me my measily $ 4 refund. I wanted to tell her precisely what she could do with the $ 4 but instead hung up.
I have also repeatedly asked the staff to call me by my name, but instead they refer to me by an outdated name that the insurance has lagged in changing. The staff can pronounce neither my legal name nor my chosen name, both of which are standard American English names.
The incompetence of the staff is amazing. There is a rule stating that a person picking up a prescription must be offered a certain amount of space to speak privately about their medication and transaction. My space is constantly violated here. The next person in line will ignore the sign and force themselves as close as possible to me, as if by inching ever closer their turn will come sooner. I understand, since service here is woefully slow, but the fact that no staff has ever helped me reclaim my space is disgusting.
I am SO excited to move my prescriptions to the Target pharmacy.
Rite Aid more like Wrong Aid. More like fuck me how is this place even still in business.

Across from the hotel spells convenience.

This is a drugstore — not a Target or a Walmart.
I needed medicine for the monster, diapers, and a Coke Zero for myself. I forgot how much I paid but having a kid is damn expensive. It was pleasant not to have to pay for a bag like we do here in San Jose. At times if I feel like buying one because my dummy self forgot it at home, I will while most of the time I carry 10 things only to toss it in my trunk because either a) forgot the bag at home and b) the bag is in the trunk.

I came here to buy an alarm clock and fill a prescription and it was actually one of my better Rite Aid experiences. Their selection of clocks was better than Radioshack, which surprised me and the prices were better here (that wasn’t surprising). They were in a locked display case, so someone came to open it but didn’t stick around staring at me while I decided (which was good).
The pharmacy was pretty helpful too. The guy behind the counter (pharmacy tech I assume) called my cell phone minutes after I dropped off the prescription to tell me the insurance company required pre-​authorization. I contacted my doctor’s office and the next day Rite Aid called to tell me it was ready to be picked up.
The store is clean, but definitely not fancy. The staff ranged from okay to helpful. I’d go back if I lived around here.

My review is specific to the Pharmacy.
Meh. It’s terribly difficult to get a prescription filled here, but alas it is the closest pharmacy to work so I am stuck until I find another pharmacy to fill the occasional prescription.
It took 4 calls, with each call the story changed on whether or not they had the order from my doctor. 4 hours later, they confirmed they had gotten the fax hours ago but needed more information. I begged them to just try to call the doctor to get it figured out so I wouldn’t be in pain any more.
It wouldn’t have been such a big deal if I was waiting on a «normal» prescription in so much pain. Normally, I wouldn’t leave a ‘meh’ review, but this is not the first time this has happened at this location.
Otherwise, the store itself is fine and I can always run in and get what I need and receive good service.

I usually wander in here every Friday. It is always such a pleasure to go to this Rite Aid as one must first step over the able-​bodied beggars that are sprawled out on the sidewalk looking for free money. (Give to a charity, not on the street) Once inside there is from time to time an entertaining altercation between store security and the belligerent drunk. Ah, how I love downtown. Seriously, I love the nitty-​gritty downtown life.
Even though I have enough girly products, I always poke my head in the door to check out the sales on cosmetics, candles, hair clips, and various sundry items. Mostly, I am looking for my favourite L’Oréal lipcolour and mineral makeup to go on sale. I buy them up when they have the buy one get one at 50% off. I like that the store is neat and well stocked with whatever I am looking for.
And I’m done and out the door. Once again, stepping over the able-​bodied bums as I leave, reminding them yet again that I don’t have any money for them.
