The most affordable Middle Eastern restaurant I have ever been to. We had some time to kill until we needed to go to the airport so we found this joint to eat at. It was a Monday afternoon around 3 and there was no one else dining. The service was extremely slow, but the delicious food made us forget about the wait. The portions are very generous for the price. You can get 2 skewers on a bed of rice with salad for only $ 10. A plate like that will cost you about $ 18 anywhere else. I would deff return here if I was living in Portland.

My husband and I are in town for a business trip and have been here twice already. We love it. Their bread was great! I’m surprised that anyone wouldn’t love it. It is cooked in a wooden office and freshly draped over a bread stand and is really good. We both had a lamb kabob mezza which came with two delicious lamb skewers with onion and zucchini, two falafel, all cooked perfectly with tahini on the side. Also we had their yummy fatoosh salad which is my favorite kind of salad and dressing. Love this restaurant.

This whole place was a disappointment, here’s why: –1 point for: baklava was so much worse than other places –1 point for: Menu is the least descriptive EVER –1 point for: Falafel is way too crunchy, literally hurts my mouth –1 point for: Pita bread is SUPER grainy –1 point for: whenever someone closes the door it slams, making it somewhat hard to eat +1 point for: pretty good atmosphere and music +1 point for: hummus is slightly above average Overall: Eat here if you are a starving animal only. Heck, how about just don’t? But of course that’s just my opinion so take this review with a grain of salt, k? Thanks.

I wanted to like this place. I glanced at some plates of food on my way in, which looked really good and figured I found a gem. I sat down. I ordered my food. I wanted a falafel plate and the waitress guided me to the mezze plate, not the appetizer but the next category up. Like I thought I was going to get a full plate of food. The food arrived. It was two plates — one with three flattened piles of(2) hummus(I’m gluten free so couldn’t eat the pita bread) and one pile of babganoush. Then the shocker. The second plate was just like the ones you see in the photos MINUSTHESKEWERS. Yes, just TWO little falafel balls and a very small portion of tahini sauce. And, two skinny dolmas. That’s it! That’s the dinner! When I order a falafel for half the price of this at a food cart, I get a bunch of food — like at LEASTTHREE falafel balls. My jaw dropped. I was really hungry. I asked why only two falafels. The waitress started making excuses like«nobody ever complains… the ingredients are expensive»…blah blah blah. No apology, no offer of more food, not even«would you like to look at the menu and order more food?» I had to interrupt her once I figured that there would be no understanding on her part that I was the customer and I was unsatisfied. I asked for the menu to order more food and yet SHEWASSTILLRANTINGWITHEXCUSES! So, I said, «nevermind, just the check». Then, as another woman from the kitchen came out to clear the plates, I tried once again to get an explanation or try a plea for maybe just one more falafel ball. NO! More excuses from this person — «oh the eggplant is so expensive» — really? There was no meat on the plate. Just vegetables. They can’t be that expensive. I didn’t go there. I wanted to leave and never come back. I really hate being argued with like that in a restaurant. They might as well cut to the chase and just say«we don’t care about your business», «we don’t care if you ever come back», and«we don’t care if you give us a lousy review on Unilocal». Fine.

10 stars to this fabulous place !!! The food is extremely tasty and very authentic, I ordered the beef shawarma plate, it was just the perfect amount of food, they serve this huge flat bread very traditional from lebanon and other cities around. I was extremely impressed and took some food to go for lunch tomorrow! Thumbs up I highly recommend this place

I would give a 6 star if I can. Cheap price, large portion & delicious food, super friendly staff. Have nothing more to ask. There is a lot to choose from a 7-page menu. We had a lamb kabob mezza, two lentil soup and yogurt drink & mango lassy. The waitress was so nice that she even showed us how to eat the mezza since we are both new to Lebanese food. The mezza is such a large portion that we are both more than just full. $ 12 each person in the end. Great place!!! Will definitely recommend!

Been going to this restaurant for years, very good food and great customer service. The hummus and fresh baked pita bread is really tasty. I always get the special and it’s the perfect meal.

Great kabobs. Maybe some of the best falafel I’ve ever had. Nothing starts a meal better than a monumental pita fresh out the oven. The tabbouleh and hummus are really flavorful, lamb and kafta kabobs excellently seasoned and super juicy. They’ll see me again.

This place was terrific! My bff and I were cruising around looking for a Lebanese or Mediterranean restaurant that was not Karam or Jerusalem. This place did not disappoint, and so reasonable. For about nine dollars we both ordered chicken shwerma, which was accompanied with tabouleh, baba ganooj and hummus, all very fresh and house made. The chicken was skewered with zucchini sand marinated white onion. Very tangy but not spicy. They bring out a huge pita bread that is elevated on a special stand above the rest of the meal. Ours was literally fresh off their grill and deflating as it was presented. If there is a better place in SE or a five mile vicinity of be surprised. Great service, too, and not too busy around 1pm for lunch. Nice interior.

I was recommended this place and decided to give it a go. The place was packed upon arrival but we were seated quickly. We did eventually get a server and it was a little slow getting our food. The flat bread is flat out Amazing. The feta plate was tasty but a little disappointing in that it was crumbled. That seems like a cheap move to me. Every other place I’ve been gives you several small chunks of feta. The falafel was excellent and the lamb is the most tender and flavorful that I’ve had. The problem here is that after being served, we never saw a server. No one came to check on our food or to ask us if we needed drink refills. By the time we flagged down somebody, I’d already decided I’d stick to my local place rather than go back. Sad, but true.

OKAY. So I have been to Riyadh’s COUNTLESS times. I always bring friends to try it out, too! However, one thing I ALWAYS warn my friends and even myself sometimes about, is the HORRIBLE service. There is usually only 1 waitress that is expected to wait on the entire restaurant. She isn’t quick, either. Yes, she’s good at her job, however, if I see her(the one with the intense eye lashes), I know that my experience will be ATLEAST1 hour long. The food is AMAZING. But, the service is below sub-par. I have given this place so many chances it’s ridiculous. But, the straw that broke the camel’s back came in the form of this scenario: My friend & I went, sat down, ordered promptly. Did not receive a refill on water until after the appetizer was delivered. I realized it was starting to get busy, so we decided to pay mid-meal. Now, I realize that this is partially my fault for«confusing» the waitress(I guess), but she took our cards ran them and we continued to eat our hummus appetizer. Afterwards… we sat… for forty-five mins. And she then comes by «everything should be good to go, right?»… NO… we never got our food?!? Only the appetizer… and why would 1 hummus appetizer be $ 20? Anyways, yeah, she felt really bad. But, didn’t comp our meal, or even OFFER to comp it(fair enough, we already paid.) But WOW. I mean I will wait for good food. I wont wait for bad service though. Bye, Riyadhs. It was real.

We have been eating here for about two years now and it is always so consistently good! I love the flatbread. The tahini is super yummy. And the portions in comparison to the price is so much more than fair. It is filling, yummy and I love the staff here too!

Cute place! Cozy décor, friendly staff, affordable prices. And very popular it seems. We went around 5 pm and it was packed right after. The menu was big enough for you to get all your favorites. Shawarma’s, gyros, plates, appetizers and so on! We went with garlic chicken gyro and chicken kabab plate. Garlic chicken gyro ~ this was delicious! I love the bread. It is so soft and tasty! And also quite big! Chicken kabab on rice ~ wasn’t crazy about the seasoning on my chicken. It was some kind of tomatoey seasoning with spices. Wish it said it in the menu. Their homemade hot sauce was a treat though. It also came a huge salad! Yummm! That I cleaned my plate for! The place got busy right after so we had to wait a while for our food. There’s one lady working there. She was very friendly but also very busy! Food came a little later than expected. And it was gone in no time! Our bill came out to $ 14! It was definitely a steal.

The food here is amazing lebanese food we’ve ever had! We came here last night for dinner. There were 2 other tables occupied. Service was slow because there was only one waitress who also was the hostess. As annoying as it was to wait for her to bring our drinks or come 10 mins after we sat down to ask about what we want… the food made up for it. For drinks I got the lebanese Almaza beer. It was light and perfect beer for summer! We ordered: –Spinach turnover with hummus. Must get!!! it was the best, soft dough with right amountnof spinach. They also give feta cheese and olives yo go with it. I highly recommend it. It comes in 3 large pieces for like 5 bucks I think –combo platter with chicken, kafta, lamb, tabouleh, hummus, baba ghanoush and side of rice and a huge pita bread(bigger than my face lol). It was delicious! –kafta kebob with jasmine rice. That was absolutely amazing. It was my dish and I enjoyed every bit. The rice was so tasty and buttery on its own. I recommend this. We were so full that we couldn’t even get to dessert. But I will definitely be coming back here. Everything was made fresh!

After having Lebanese food just two weeks ago, I still have that cravings today, and we were in the area, when I spotted this restaurant. The lunch ‘special’ posted @ their door, which was Greek Salad & chicken kabob sounds appealing, and that’s what I ordered, but it didn’t come with Basmati rice, so for additional $ 2, we ended up ordering the ‘dinner’ but it didn’t come with hummus, that was also EXTRA. Alan picked the lamb kabob. The bread, was as large as a pizza, but it was all good. The fact, that we ordered the dinner, should that take LONGER to fix when all they’re adding was ‘rice’? The three people that came in AFTERUS, were served before we did. They also got their bread sooner than we did. The lentil soup, was tasty, and we both enjoyed it.(Compared to the 1st Lebanese restaurant we went to, they weren’t as thick as hummus, but I’m not sure if that’s just their style there). We ate all that we could and even took some home for lunch the next day and the bread was enough for 2 more little meals! The décor: the waves fabric awning on the ceiling was awesome. They added a skylight, to add light to the room. The restrooms were clean & modern. This is the 2nd Lebanese restaurant we went to, and both have nice curtains! I like that! You don’t have to travel to Lebanon, to have that exotic feel when you enter a foreign restaurant, it’s also a lot safer than traveling there. LOL

I would love to give this place a 5. The food was FABULOUS and the prices were excellent. However, it took about 30 minutes to get our order taken and the place wasn’t even crowded. During the meal, one of my dining partners got a beer. It was a hot day and it looked good, so I ordered one, too. Well, the server forgot. It also took a long time to get our food. Maybe the service is better on other days and I just was there on an «off» day. But, the food is HIGHLY recommended.

I love this place. It’s so cheap! I usually get the vegetarian mezza sampler for one, which really is more than enough for one but I’m a piggy, so… The pita bread is where it’s at. So yummy and fluffy, and neat to watch puff up in the oven if you’re sitting close to it! I like the grape leaves, and the falafels are very good. The baklava isn’t the best I’ve had, but I usually skip dessert anyway from pigging out on pita bread and hummus.

We started with the spinach turnovers and the server suggested feta and olives with them. So flame. I can already tell I’m going to want to fly back to portland just to eat them. They’re savory and the dough is perfect. Next we ordered the meat mezza with kefta and the veggie mezza with grape leaves.(Each is basically a meal on its own) Honestly I personally have never liked grape leaves or baba ganoush much before but here they are solid. Everything is balanced and fresh. My husband is a chef and he said the babaganoush is perfect, with just the right amount of char. I think most of the food like this I have had in the past hasn’t been fresh and has extra stuff in it so it keeps long. Oh… And these come with the biggest pita I’ve ever seen in my life! Fresh and delicious! We also ordered a falafel sandwich, God only knows why because this is a TON of food already. Anyway the falafel sandwich has just the right amount of toppings and was wrapped like a pro did it. Nothing worse than a sloppy falafel sandwich you know? So overall this place was an absolute win. The server was awesome and made great recommendations to us. The food is super fresh and flavorful.
