St. John’s is always a wonderful destination, but now there’s one more reason to go! The owner curates everything she sells very thoughtfully, and much of what she chooses is informed by her previous career that involved wanting stylish shoes while needing sturdy shoes. You can really trust her judgment! There’s also a social justice component to what she chooses. Lovely store, lovely owner, and lovely selection.

RoM is an adorable shop with a carefully curated stock of gorgeous, finely crafted shoes. Anna, the owner, hand selects each pair of shoes based on her fabulous sense of style, shoes that other shops carry (you won’t find many of the shoes she carries in other Portland stores), where the shoes were made, trade policies (for shoes made outside of the US) and, where possible, impact on the environment. In addition to shoes, RoM offers a small selection of locally– and hand-​made jewelry, socks, and bags. Anna is knowledgeable about other Portland businesses and is happy to help you shop local.

Shopping for kids’ shoes can be a nightmare. RoM has a small offering of carefully chosen shoes, and Anna (the owner) fit my child with care and attention. We walked away with shoes she loved. The limited selection worked in my favor, as there weren’t any inappropriate choices for my child to have a tantrum over. The store was small but very lovely and cosy. I’d like to come back and shop for myself sometime soon; the adult shoes were also a very stylish collection.

Carefully chosen perfect Portland style shoes. What a great addition to the St. Johns neighborhood. Love the design of the store, good light and not overwhelming to shop at all.
