The food is decent but the customer service here sucks!!! Never have I been to restaurant where I had to constantly ask for water or to order our food the staff will just stare at you, instead of coming over to take our order it happen a few times I keep telling myself it’s lunch rush but after watching them cater to other customer next to us it’s just not okay they really need to get their service together… Only reason why I keep going back is its close to my work.

I have been here several times, and the Pad Thai always good. Service was also very nice. Cheap price but the thing is they do not have much options for Noodle Soup.

Wish I could give no stars. I called for delivery and was told I had to place my order online so I hung up and placed my order online and got a confirmation of my order emailed to me that said someone would call from the restaurant within 10 minutes to confirm. If no one called in 10 min to call the restaurant to confirm your order so I did because I did not receive a call and they told me they did not have my order. I was told that they could not deliver it and I could come in to pick it up. Mind you almost an hour had already passed since I first tried to call in my order. Very frustrating and disappointing, what’s the point of having delivery service or online ordering??? Don’t waste your time, you will starve to death just trying to place a order with this place!

Always a great consistent quality and fast service! If you like spicy this is the place, they can go as hot as you want it. If you don’t no issue they have mild. Great wide noodles and curries, plus a nice variety.

Slow service. Over-cooked rice. Over-cooked meat. Potstickers were frozen and very watery when cooked. What a disappointment Rad Na was oily and Over-cooked Curry was good Gaanang satay was 6 shrimp for $ 9. And didn’t taste great. I would try other places first

The food was good. The service was the worst I’ve ever experienced anywhere. We were ignored by the waitress who was asking others how they were doing and never said one word to us. Another woman came out after 25 minutes to take our order while people that came in after us were drinking and had food out shortly. I was very friendly, and very confused as to why the staff was so rude. At any rate, I would not recommend. The yellow curry was very very good though, so for that I give the restaurant 2 stars.

After getting off work, jumping off the train, and an impromptu shopping trip, I felt weakened and in need of sustenance. Where to go? My eyes fell on Saithong Thai Fusion(I think because of the tall orange vase in one window), so in I went. On entry, a jazz trio was playing. I sometimes cringe at the quality of music from small groups like this, but I was happily surprised at the group’s versions of several jazz selections. You don’t often hear any tunes by Wes Montgomery done well, but this small group hit the nail on the head(«Grazin’ In The Grass»). It was all very relaxing and really put me in the mood for the rest of the meal. My waitress was very sweet and competent and made sure to get what level of heat I wanted in my Pineapple Fried Rice. When that arrived in good time from the kitchen, there was lots of chicken chunks of good quality and lots of fresh pineapple chunks and cashews and rice. The only thing that didn’t work was the request I made for some lime wedges and soy sauce had to be made twice: once to the hostess of the restaurant, and it didn’t come at all, and finally from my regular waitress who brought these items to me immediately(and this caused the loss of one star). I just needed a little extra acid and a bit of saltiness to bring the dish up to perfection from me. Still and all, I really recommend this restaurant. They have a nice lounge area in the middle and other dining booths around the rim. It was all very clean. It seemed like the other patrons were having a fun time, and like I said the jazz trio added some embellishment. There is great people watching to be had due to the big windows and their location just a block up from Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Stop in, enjoy, and relax. I think you’re going to do just fine here! PS: Be sure to check in and let your waitress know. You can redeem a Unilocal check-in coupon for a free order of potstickers which are quite, quite tasty

We went on a Thursday evening. There was a sign saying there was live music every Thursday, but apparently not this one. The waitress said perhaps it was due to the beer festival down the street. Okay. I had the Gang Dang curry made vegetarian and asked if they added anything special outside of the ingredients for the vegetarian option(I wasn’t sure if I wanted tofu or veg) and she said they would add carrots, etc. When I got my order it was exactly what the menu had said, nothing extra. So we paid the same as if I had added the tofu. Boo. Husband got the Pineapple fried rice extra hot, which was a touch too spicy for him. We are used to «spicy» not actually being spicy so this was a treat for me. I didn’t try his extra spicy because he got egg, so I’m not sure if it would have been too spicy for me. I had ordered spicy and it was perfect. They also had extra extra spicy and thai lao spicy. Yay! My father-in-law ordered the appetizer sampler as his meal to go with ours and it came out as an appetizer. Boo. The next morning I woke up with a not very happy belly. I’m pretty sure it was from dinner because the rest of my meals were from home and usual faire. Could have been the spice? But I eat a lot of spicy food. So perhaps the curry was not actually vegan, who knows. Meh. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. I probably will not go back. The place was pretty empty at 6pm.

They have live music on weekends from 6−9pm. The prices are a little high but the food is very good. We ordered pad Thai, pad see ew, green curry, and fried rice. Their spice levels are probably a little higher than others so keep that in mind. Also, if you check in, you get free potstickers.

My sister was precariously hangry so we stopped at the first suitable restaurant nearby, which happened to be Saithong, and it turned out to be such a fantastic choice! My Pad Kee Mao was delicious with soft noodles and plenty of vegetables and tofu, without too much sauce or oil. A couple of notes: 1. They don’t joke around with their spiciness levels. My father moans about how the Thai food at home is never very spicy even at max level, so he ordered his Evil Prince with… wait for it, «MAXIMUMSPICY!». The waitress looked a little alarmingly at him and asked, «Are you sure? Our dishes go mild, medium, hot, extra hot, extra extra hot…» and of course he still insisted on max. He ended up shedding tears and gulping down seven glasses of ice water over the course of his meal. 2. My deals for the free potstickers and eggrolls(free if you order two dinner entrees) were accepted, but for some reason the appetizers came long after our entrees did. 3. There was only one waitress working when we came in, but the service was wonderful, regularly checking back on us and filling up our glasses(much needed for my father). At the end we found a mistake with our bill but she was very gracious about everything. 4. There is also plenty of alcohol to be purchased!

Tastes but nothing special. Went here to get a nice mix of foods. My partner ordered a veggie dish, and was really looking forward to the broccoli listed in the menu, but the entire dish only had two pieces. The BBQ Thai chicken was the saving grace here, particularly the crispy skin. Vegetables on the side were a but flat. Forgot my drink, and had to remind them(which was taken off the check at the end).

4⁄5 for friendly service 4⁄5 for the amazing pad see ew(the noodles were thick and soft and the flavor was very tasty) 4⁄5 for the free potstickers you get when you check in on Unilocal Overall, cute place that is not too crowded. Solid food with very competitive prices and generous portions.

Saithong Thai cuisine is one of the best Thai restaurants in all of Portland! It’s nice to see the owner of the establishment in the kitchen to ensure your food is done right and presented in a timely manner! Love this place and recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Great food and great service! Lunch specials are served quickly, which allows for a lunch meeting. Happy hour specials allow a bite before heading home. Dinner menu allows for sharing. Try the Byron red wine, especially if it is served by the owner, Byron. They also have TVs to watch games, along with a full bar.

As an experience, this place was not very good. The décor is nice enough and I noticed about 8 outlets for customers to plug in devices. Not that I would pick where I eat based on phone charging capabilities. The menu was terrible. The holder was standard but the black ink on white paper made it appear that no effort was put into it. I would recommend either a tan or background image and possibly pictures of your food. Almost anything would make it more exciting. I would let the menus shortcomings slide if the food were great, but my chicken phad Thai had no flavor to speak of, and I ordered it between mild and medium and there was a complete lack of any heat of spice. The beer selection was passable, and the pot stickers were good. So the first things we tasted led me to believe the whole meal would be good. Sadly it wasn’t. More flavor in sauces, I really wanted to find a phad Thai that would make me come back weekly.

My best friend and I were craving Thai food for dinner and we stumbled upon this spot. It was empty and uncomfortable for some reason. We came during happy hour and ordered chicken pad see ew($ 6) and pineapple fried rice($ 6). Nowhere did it say you needed to purchase a drink to get happy hour prices on food. The waiter didn’t tell us upon ordering and only after he brought out our food. It was awkward because I felt like I made a boo-boo. The food wasn’t that great and portions were small. Did I mention the water? It tasted like bean sprouts. It was then my friend told me that it was cucumber-flavored water. Not my cup of tea. The ambiance was unsettling. I’m pretty sure they were playing Top 40 songs. Most likely won’t return as there are plenty of nearby Thai food carts that are more flavorful and can get more bang for my buck.
